xset still have potential to be one of the best teams, just give it time, people are forgetting fun noc and koyful 3 of the best individual players itw
Put Noc on a roller starting now and they will be a champ team. Fund Mechanic's are insane and look how well it's done Hal, Lou and now Alb is hitting the best DMG he has. Not everyone can do it but I believe Noc would be Hal status if he swapped
@@munakay6914 it’s a battle royale bud if you don’t think luck is involved you have no understanding of the game, it’s been mentioned from pro directly, being a pro in a br is the hardest due to rng
Would be interested to see another Optic video. I know dropped talked about a lot of Optic's problems this split on the wideswing podcast. I think Optic and XSET were definitely the two most surprising teams to miss LAN. But honestly looking at the 12 teams that did make it it's a great group and would be hard to pick someone else to not make it. Also Furia would be an interesting deep dive rn because as you said in the video they were able to offset their bad days with big performances, however the huge disparity between their match days definitely begs the question if they'll show up at LAN. Also of course there is the whole situation with HisWattson not playing in international scrims and that adds a whole other layer to how Furia will do at LAN.
my recommended video that popped up at the end was "How XSET has Become the Most Consistent ALGS Team in the World lol. Complete heartbreak though, I've been lovin Noct since the TL days and i hope they're able to find their footing again soon. I didn't even realize the extent of their struggles during finals, one would think that Ape got paid off to grief XSET (though im not wearing my tin foil hat today, so i doubt it)
Unreal video as always - I stopped watching ALGS between year 3/4 and got back into it recently, and that doesn't matter when watching Jhawk's videos. Big fan of how he laid out the meta at the time as it is ever changing and hard to follow if you are not always watching.
Really sad when I saw XSET placed 15th during regional final, but feel a little bit amused when Koy's Twitter back and two XSET pikachu apologizing. They will bounce back next split😌
i actually thought they would have qualled... if ape gang didn't contest. it felt like the moment they got contested by them. that was the last straw for noct's mentality for the split. granted ape gang are losers who weren't playing to win in a match point system which is pretty much screaming "hey we suck"
Banger video. You did it again, JHawk Love XSET's vibes. I was surprised and slightly disappointed when their previous roller decided to leave. Like a lot of other people, I have high hopes for Koy. And I have faith he'll keep on growing as a pro player. During Split 1 PL, I remember feeling really sad every time I checked the day's scores and XSET was nowhere near top 10. I really hope they come back strong next split!
Unlike your other videos that showcase teams falling short I had no morbid curiosity about xset, these guys were doing so well and have such positive personalities. I'm so sad they didn't make LAN, here's to next split and great vid as always mr hawk 😢
I'm not gonna lie, it felt vindcating seeing Xset fail. The number of people pumping up Koyful and talking about how insane of a roller player he is with a number of teams gunning for him was kinda annoying. All the glazing on a new rising star that has barely proven himself in only 1 meta. We all know scrims and pubs are completely different to actual tournaments when there's actual consequences to your mistakes. Its seen time and time again in every competitive league; a promising new star getting pushed into the lime light only to drop the ball. Example from someone outside the Apex scene, Tenz was this exact person when he was still playing CSGO. He got scouted and picked up by Cloud9 as a promising new prodigy only to flounder on the big stage. He was meant to be NA's new star in CS but failed to get any results. Once he was given more space and time to adjust and find his style, he started absolutely killing it in Valorant. People need to learn that a new young prodigy doesn't instantly show results. They need time to adjust, cultivate their skillsets, and flat out get more experience to show what their actually capable of.
Love the video, but next video could you go into what the small issues are? You mention it causing a snowball effect and play clips, but I'm dumb and don't see what the issue was
1st clip was lack of awareness and mainly execution on avoiding sky nades, second clip was inability to hold space, third clip was no clear plan and sort of being forced into a bad spot. I said each of those things prior to the clips rolling
I really just think this meta is NOT working for them. Noct used to play a very unique style of edge. Whereas Dezignful, the classic edge player, would loot up, walk to zone, and bully the team in god spot, Noct would make gigantic perimeter rotates to have a unique angle to pick at a good enough spot for endgame and then have Sweet-tier endgame calls. Bang shuts that style of play down with smokes and her ult - their good enough spot is covered with smoke and they get killed due to bloodhound abuse. Run it back, no changes.
Can we talk about how when they were walking the thin line between qualifying and not qualifying for this upcoming lan Ape gang chose to contest them for frag west Idk why but ape gangs choice to me felt like they intentionally wanted to prevent them from qualifying
Making it back to pro league is definitely an accomplishment but not sure it’s worthy of making a full video. Especially of someone of Albs resume. This guy has been in pro league since the game came out, making it back is nothing new
I think the reason why XSET did terrible is because reason one they lost Sikezz to DZ so they had to pick up KoyFul for who they had pretty much no experience with, reason 2 was because of Metas in comp and reason three is because they ended up losing SkyWest trials to DZ as well
What are your thoughts on the rumored changes to contests that will guarantee weapons to both teams? I always thought the randomness of contests with one guy landing on a shield cells bin and then taking a PK shot to the back(good thing he has those shield cells) was exhilarating to watch
As much as there is obviously a lot of skill in this game and of course the best teams like DZ and TSM show that by consistently winning. I feel like the amount of luck involved is also down played alot. This is BR. Anyone can be great then randomly bad at any moment and even multiple tourments won't necessarily level that out. There doesn't always need to be a "reason". It's very human to try an assign rational but sometimes variance is going to variance. (I make no reference to this specific video It's a general point that can apply to any team any time)
i was literally talking with my buddy about xset the other day and said im willing to bet jumba or jhawk make a video on this soon and low and behold here it is not 2 days later
Koyful perfect fit Role on legends gaming , they are beast , get 5th at LaN is amazing, comp with another best team in the world , koyful top 5 most kill at lan , strafing n playerK Good IGL n support player , they play incredible at LaN , i dunno why Xset cant maximize this potential role of koyful
Love the content. I've been binge re-watching these videos lately because of the quality of production and highlights on Apex competitive history. One thing I noticed in this video was that you seem to be talking very very fast compared to previous videos. In other videos you have a slower serious tone and great delivery of impactful dialogue but it feels lost in speed with this video. I still love the content just wanted to mention whether it was rushed to get out or if you're trying to go less scripted with these discussions I felt like I enjoyed the slower paced dialogue better not sure if anyone else agrees or if I've just been watching way too much JHawk lol
video was still fully scripted... might be feel faster cause its shorter and doesnt have as many game play breaks (partially cause half their match days I have no vods RIP)
Great work as always, you should consider doing a video on CCE/TrevStacks, they are a force to be reckoned with and their comp stands out among others. Coms were absolutely insane in PLQ
... it feels illegal to even suggest this, but if you've gone from Gild to Sikez to Koy but results are stagnant or even declining, should you start looking at a roster move OTHER than your controller fragger? I love watching these boys play, but it feels like they're sliding in the wrong direction without an obvious answer.
@AyeJhawk what would be the best option during that 10:00 min where bang ult had been released what was xset best move ? I do understand that this video is meant to show what went wrong but could you recommend some insight on some good possible options as well, that would be really helpful.
