      Thank you so very much for the kind words. I have some camp style cooking videos coming up that will cover my time out camping. I’m fixing to do two weeks in this tent. I should have some fun videos from that adventure. Thanks so much for the kind words and I hope you have a blessed week.

    Great video! I'd LOVE LOVE to have this tent. It's just not affordable for me. Maybe someday!!!!

      Oh thank you so very much for the kind words. I get it thouhg, these are expensive and I could only justify for it my long trips I take. Otherwise, like you I have had some other tents in the past, just not good for winter camping etc, they are too light and I have had to cut winter trips short, due to being too cold and or being too cold and wet in the tent. This one, I think it much better made for the elements etc, however, it does come at a cost. Thanks again for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed week.

      @@HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors I didn't catch where you're from, if you even said lol. We live in northern Idaho about 2 hours south of the Canadian border. It can get so bitterly cold here; at times in the winter -10 to-20F at times and that can last a few days or a month. So I get it about it being cold for camping. I've not gone winter camping but would like to when it's above 0° lol. And I'd like to have it on hand: this world is going no where good. That's why my eyes do their best to stay focused on Jesus. I would like to have the tent though..so maybe one day the good Lord will provide the way for it. Maybe, maybe not. Either way, it is a very good tent. Thank you for your time and making the videos!

    That is an excellent review full of all the need to know details that a person considering one of these would need - I thank you for taking the time. Have you considered a small side bussiness in making and selling that middle leather gromet?

    In the Movie Civil War they show a scene where there are a lot of refugees camped in a stadium. It is interesting to see that half the tents were Springbar tents. Story line: Refugees know quality when the see it, or they stole them from a warehouse. Or more likely the director of props got a deal for the movie. Great advertisement.

    Was sitting here thinking as i watch, about a tent my family had years ago. Back in the mid to later 70s, my folks had an old canvas tent that we used when we went to camping all over the western U.S. Granted it wasnt fancy compared to today, but i do remember camping in that thing everywhere!
    Hope you make lots of memories with yours!

      Oh man, you know it is highly possible it was made by this same company, The man who started this tent company was back in the 60's or so, his son runs it now. What a fun story, I hope to have this one all over the place as well. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed weekend my friend.

    Its a great tent. I bought the Classic jack 140 earlier this year and so far have spent about 24 nights in the tent with the large winnerwell woodlander stove. Something I found helps shed water off the awning is raise the door side awning pole to its highest setting then the opposite pole lean the bottom towards the tent and rest it on the tent stake. Works well to shed water but you do lose a little head room. Another thing I found helpful was to use 3/8"x10" lag bolts with washers instead of the tent nail stakes. I drive the lag bots with my impact driver. So much easier to install and remove then the stakes. I do live in central Idaho and we have very rocky volcanic soil so might not be necessary where your at. Im getting ready to spend 14 nights in the tent for rifle elk season in about a week so Ill get to test in some colder temps.

      That’s awesome news my friend. I love your ideas as well. I am currently camping in mine on a 18 day traditional bow hunt. Have basically the same stove. So far temps have been down into the 30’s at night. And I have been impressed with how well the wood burning stove works. Have you seen the flagship model with the awning pole in the center. I ordered an extra pole when I ordered rhe tent and made a leather strip with a loop for the tent pole to go into the center. Like you mentioned let the other two poles down and the rain runs off.
      They should just add they extra grommet in these tents. Just for that. Good luck on your elk hunt. We had elk steaks around rhe campfire last night one of rhe guys in our group got one in Colorado in September. Good luck and please let us know how your hunt goes. Until we meet in the woods one day have a blessed week my friend.

      @@sigmanarchery54 Thank you sir, Yes sir, the last few years at deer camp, I have concentrated videos on the hunt. I am shift gears this year to concentrate more on the camping and camaraderie at camp. When I first started hunting this area, I was solo, although I am still considered solo, at this point, there is several of us solo hunters who have developed a small group if you will and I will be spending more time on that aspect go the camp. Thank you so much for the idea as it just reassures me I am on the right track. Thank you and I hope yall have a blessed week.

    I think the selling point for a large canvas tent is being able to put it up and take it down alone. I see some tents where it takes two people and a map to put the tent up. I had a tent like that and it forever and two days to put it up and that was with two other people! It was a mystery where what pole went where. So, I did buy a Springbar last year but am considering a very large tent, but I am just thinking of it now because they are expensive.

    • @HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors
      @HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors  6 місяців тому

      Agreed, the tent I purchased a year or two before this one was a tipi style tent and like you mentioned, 99% of the time I am camping its me and buster, so being able to set it up with one person is a must for me. I want to thank you for taking the time to watch and comment and I also need to say sorry,. I try to stay on top of all the comments and this one slipped by me somehow. Thank you and Again have a blessed weekend.
