What a great idea! Saving this video for when I get my own farm.

What a clever and beautiful set up!! A few questions….do you drag the track and if so how often? Where is your water? In each field
Or back at the barn? Is their only shelter back at the barn? I love this idea! Thank you!!!

I probably miss it, but how big are your divided pasture, is it 5 divided by 3 acres of grass? Your place looks amazing. I’m currently working on rotational pasture and yours in very inspiring.

Big pasture is 4 acres total. Ring and track knock usable down to 3 acres and I strip those into 5 parts. Feed a herd of 5 horses a good 12 to 15 weeks before I rest it all before winter.

@@DutchHollow so you divide the 3 acres into 5 pastures for the 5 horses which is .6 acres that they're on for a week?

This year I'm trying something called Mob Grazing. I've managed to do 18 micro graising areas, let the grass grow tall, leave them on 2-3 days max and then onto another section. Gives me 35- 40 days be ore they go back on the original section. Lots if fence moving but so far pasture looks even better health wise as they can't eat it short. Tall grass means more saved moisture in the soil during thr dry hot summer.

This looks great! Do you keep them out 24/7 or just out part of the time? Do you supplement with hay at all? We just purchased 11 acres and the horses will have about 9-10 acres. I am looking to do something similar to this. Any do's/don'ts you would care to suggest? Thanks!

      They are out 24/7
I only get about 12 weeks of grass the rest of the year they are fed hay. Fun of living in snow country.
