- Here is something that I normal do.
People from My work bring Me two laptops for installing system and cleaning fans with replacing thermal paste
In this movie I will show how I do that on Lenovo G550
Both laptops are simple to clean but I want to show how I do that :)

What is the max ram that the Lenova G550 supports? some people say only 4gb, but the lenova support website said that it can go up to 8gb
That's not My laptop but in this forum:

Someone confirmed that 8Gb 1066mhz DDR3 worked.
Most important is to check if You have latest bios because bios will allow to use so much ram until hardware also allow for that.
Take some time to upgrade bios because if you do something wrong you may destroy bios and make brick out of laptop !!
So read, read and read before update !!
@@Adrian202 How to i upgrade the bios? my laptop has windows 7, so i'm thinking about just installing linux on it since windows 7 is stopping support on jan 20
@@enochthestud Windows or bios ?? because bios and windows are two different systems :)
New computers have bios update function in bios it self and older computers have a program or You make bootable USB.
No support don't mean that Windows will not work :) that mean, there will be no new upgrades for it but same as XP windows will still work fine :)
In My opinion every second windows is good so I have 3 computers with windows XP (for programming old machines), Windows 7 (for some programs) and Windows 10 as My main computer :)
Adrian202 RC they’re different? I thought every windows has a bios . I don’t really know much about it. I just found a really old lenova G550 from my college days so I think it’s 2010 or earlier
@@enochthestud Bios is a system for motherboard that tell windows or linux what parts are inside and how to use it and without bios You have just big brick :)
And Windows is a graphic system that get from bios what parts are inside and use driver to control it

Hi, I have an Intel Pentium T4400 processor and I wanted to know which one to change it for, I also have a Lenovo G550
To replace processor You will need to check what processors motherboard support.
Most time it's better to replace laptop than processor :)
The graphics card does not get updated paste or adhesive?
I always apply current best paste (same as I apply on my computers to make sure that is good)
As for graphic card, I now replace pad to best blue cooling pads

I did not do that because I buy theme in local stores so link to that tools or parts will not help anyone from other countries :(
As for paste I now will use Grizzly Kryonaut because on test in this moment is the best one.

I use machine oil and it's working fine (same as for sewing machines)
