Truly a pleasant surprise seeing the RNZAF decals sheet. Our army boys did have a habit of 'borrowing' enemy equipment during WW2, so now the air force can perhaps do the same.

I seriously doubt that the Horton Bomber version would have been that effective. Remember that Northrop developed the XB-35 and then the YRB-49 and in the end they were not put into mass production because the technology, particularly related to controls and the need for a stable bombing platform, was too immature. That’s how the USAF ended up with the B-36 instead. It took nearly 50 years before fly-by-wire and digital flight controls culminated in the B-2 Spirit. But even that was somehow an operational prototype with only 21 built. Another 30-odd years later and there’s finally a mass produced flying wing bomber, the B-21 Raider. There’s never been an operational flying wing fighter, suggesting that the Ho 229 was more of a developmental dead end than the bomber concepts.
Revell does make a 1/72nd scale Horton 229. While the armament is fictional, the plane never was armed like that. The real Horton 229 is in the collection of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. Last I heard, it was at the facilities at Udvar Hazy at Dullas International Airport. I saw it years ago in storage at the Paul A. Garber facility in Silver Hills Maryland.
Good Morning Gary, I watch a lot of your videos which are very informative and helpful. May I ask do you have any spare 1/72 Spitfire Mk2 or Mk5 complete canopy’s. I have 3 PM kits which I am upgrading and wish to replace the canopy’s. Obviously I would purchase them from with postage costs. Kindest Regards Nick.
