Seth, I just want to tell you how much I appreciate what you do. You provide an endless supply of fun and engaging content for free, and it makes it so much easier when I’m sick or after a long day to just relax and watch your videos. Keep up the good work!
It was crazy pants, but c'est la. He would have had to survive a bunch of damage next turn but, on board blocks leaves him with no permanents but the infinite combo.
I remember winning a gameday with my Lich's Mastery - approach of the second sun deck. You play Approach, you put it 7 from the top, then you gain 7 life and draw 7 cards.
This video reminds me that Wotc has been making some really powerful but simple uncommon legends recently. Queza is power for simple raw card draw. Vega is in this vein of idea too I think.
I feel like this could have been a Yorion pile with Search for Glory to help make sure you don't get janked out by Lifegain decks that get to 40+ life.
@@handsomemonkey9852 Fair point. But I still think there is a lot of upside in making it a Yorion deck. And at a minimum, Search for Glory tutors both halves of the Queza/Lich combo, and half of the Demonic Pact giveaway. Not to mention Yorion beats is a legitimate strategy
If you can't beat your opponent after drawing your deck I'm gonna have to ask you to turn in your magic license :) Also Yorion makes it harder to find the combo pieces.
36:45 am I crazy, or couldn't you win if you don't discard Queza? You would need to fade removal and extra damage from the opponent, but if you hold Queza, play it on your turn, Queza blocks the Trespasser, you take 4 from the Giant, sacrifice 4 lands, and you win on draw step? It is very low %, but it is possible they didn't have/don't draw anything. I'd love to see you play to those low % outs instead of conceding
That first opponent is @BlakeMTG and he has a video that includes this same match from the other side (plus some other cool Oswald stuff) ua-cam.com/video/w-zW9y-VT4U/v-deo.html Love the deck, harmless offering kills are fun
32:40, yes, killing Trespasser won't save you if your opponent gets lucky, but it does save you on board. why do for the thing that if it doesnt work you definitely die? It doesnt make sense when if you dont die next turn, you get to then still draw for the answer and maybe win off the back of that.
That last game, at the end, you played around the Thought Seize and they actually drew it. If you had waited to draw the last 2 cards off Demonic Pact, they would've discarded the Harmless Offering. That was some next level gaming my friend. Nice job. That was awesome!
Been tinkering with deck in the best of one play ques. I decided to add Nine lives and Solemnity and it's been pretty decent. The lock gives you more time to set up the combo, some decks just can't deal and scoop, and it gives another lose the game trigger to donate for the destroy all enchantments plan. Thanks for the fun combo :)
First of all: Can we get this tagged in the title somewhere with what format this deck is for? There are some formats that interest me a lot more than others and I'd like to know before I click on a video. It's not a Goldfish thing, it's a Formats thing :) Also I don't remember if I knew that Lich's Mastery + Demonic Pact was actually a combo (though not a game-winning combo per se). This deck probably wouldn't be playable without Queza!
So, hear me out on this. Historic+Alchemy shenanigans: -Oketra's Monument (white creature spells cost 1 less, create a token when you cast a creature spell) -Devilish Valet (1/3, trample haste, double its power when a creature enters your field) -Sigardian Evangel (enters, taps a permanent your opponent controls and conjures a copy of itself in your hand, costs 1W, or just W with the monument out) Have the monument and valet on the field, and start spam casting the evangel and its self-made copies. Each cast quadruples the Valet's power, as both it and the token enter. Three casts, you can swing with 64 power in trample.
This combo seems good in Commander (two cards, one of them can be your commander and the other one protects itself) until you realize that with any more than 2 opponents you are going to run out of cards before you kill everybody.
Discards 2 Harmless Offerings out of 3 total in the deck. Proceeds to immediately draw AND play Demonic Pact. Complains for not drawing more Harmless Offerings and then loses to said Demonic Pact. I'm pretty sure something about that playline resembles a Panharmonicon.
At 22:21 your opponent could have saved themself, target the pact, then when paying cost sac the pact. Spell is legally cast and keeps them in the game.
rite of oblivion is a sorcery and regardless, the demonic pact doesn't have to be on battlefield, once the trigger goes off they have to choose and die
Went to get a copy of Lich's Mastery on TCG, maybe stick with set and set foils, because the prerelease copies...take a look at them, not saying anything else lol
Could Seth have won Game 2? Exile farewell, play queza… if he dodges removal and burn then he blocks the trespasser and eats the bonecrusher exiling 4 lands… then untap win?
48:52 epic fail here - you should have just drained them for 2 which makes their thoughtsieze dead and the maestros charm you draw lethal. Being a streamer doesn’t mean you are good at the game, clearly.
That’s funny! I was the one playing the Oswald combo deck for my own video 😂
Nice videos
Is there a better way to end the week than a super janky combo? No, no there is not. Keep being awesome Seth!
so glad I voted to see this first, what a deck!
I haven't played Magic in three years but never miss an against the odds or much abrew video.
Seth, I just want to tell you how much I appreciate what you do. You provide an endless supply of fun and engaging content for free, and it makes it so much easier when I’m sick or after a long day to just relax and watch your videos. Keep up the good work!
37:15 me watching Seth discard queza with 4 lands left in play keeping a 6 drop instead 😀
Wow that's awesome lmao
Note to self, add AotSS to my Queza EDH pile.
This video reminds me that Wotc has been making some really powerful but simple uncommon legends recently. Queza is power for simple raw card draw. Vega is in this vein of idea too I think.
"Let's have a janky combo deck... and throw in Cat Pact." I love it.
I feel like this could have been a Yorion pile with Search for Glory to help make sure you don't get janked out by Lifegain decks that get to 40+ life.
Isn't the game plan vs life gain to give them demonic pact?
@@handsomemonkey9852 Fair point. But I still think there is a lot of upside in making it a Yorion deck. And at a minimum, Search for Glory tutors both halves of the Queza/Lich combo, and half of the Demonic Pact giveaway. Not to mention Yorion beats is a legitimate strategy
The Queza combo draws you into Pact combo. You should be fine.
Yorion piles are lame.
If you can't beat your opponent after drawing your deck I'm gonna have to ask you to turn in your magic license :)
Also Yorion makes it harder to find the combo pieces.

21:02 I think they are playing around harmless offering because if you had that in hand, you would’ve won next turn
That was exactly the line. Opp was playing intelligently that game. Plus their deck was cash money
That first opponent is @BlakeMTG and he has a video that includes this same match from the other side (plus some other cool Oswald stuff) ua-cam.com/video/w-zW9y-VT4U/v-deo.html
Love the deck, harmless offering kills are fun
17:46 Sounded like you said Os-weld Fiddlebender, and I am calling him that from now on
One of my favourite videos on the channel so far, was super fun the whole way through.
As always, thanks for going back to the regular decktech, I really appreciate it!
Huge power play with celestus before you win. Change it to nighttime to essentially tell your opponents good night
Hearing Seth say "oh they're Grixis... Crim" instead of "Grixis Control" on the honest kneejerk reaction makes me happy.

Thanks for the fun combo :)
I love it when a plan comes together!
You tell em Hannibal ;)
Man I just played Queza EDH with Lich's Mastery this morning on Cockatrice. Crazy af man
Really awesome deck! GJ
I've been waiting for this one. I'm excited
I wonder why Seth turned into Scoops for the first game.
Vtuber seth
You have to pay for his only fans to see the behind the scoops content
@@PieBandit 😂
I been trying think of a deck to make with queza.. this was nice to see...thanks
I would love this deck so much more if I hadn't just fought 3 decks in a row running Invoke Despair lol
I wish I could afford to craft 4 Liche's Mastery. I've always loved that card.
I have this in my commander deck, it's great fun
Match 1 was epic all on its own before we even got to the other games!
First of all: Can we get this tagged in the title somewhere with what format this deck is for? There are some formats that interest me a lot more than others and I'd like to know before I click on a video. It's not a Goldfish thing, it's a Formats thing :)

I have this as a historic brawl deck. It’s super consistent and fun.
Could you share a list? I'm super interested in this kind of wincons
Janked ‘em out again!
You should have Peer into the Abyss as a backup to Lich's to combo with Queza
So, hear me out on this. Historic+Alchemy shenanigans:

I run this combo in my golos historic brawl deck. It’s always fun to hit the combo on a spin lol
This combo seems good in Commander (two cards, one of them can be your commander and the other one protects itself) until you realize that with any more than 2 opponents you are going to run out of cards before you kill everybody.
Lich's Mastery is one of the coolest printed cards ever.
Every time I hear someone say "Queza", I think of Cwazy Cupcakes from Brooklyn 99 :D
Amigo the Devil! ❤️ I assume you are also familiar with Harley Poe? If not, check it out!
I'm pretty sure I love this deck.
At 22:21 your opponent could have saved themself, target the pact, then when paying cost sac the pact. Spell is legally cast and keeps them in the game.

In Match 2 game 2, why didn’t you use the +4-4 pact option to gain another turn, then give it to the opponent?
Much prefer Explorer videos! Keep up the good work.
Wait, there's an explorer format now?
That demonic pact is like playing a russian roulette... I like it...
Hey Seth, will you be at Command Fest all three days? I can only make it on Sunday and would love to get a game in.
That first match reminds me of a deck I was trying in explorer. Sadly it's just not as good as rakdos cat oven
question, did something happen to the upload schedule this week? or did the schedule is this one?
Could this work in pioneer? If so what changes would you make?
Seth at 36:45 you had the infinite combo and you accidentally discarded it!
This needed a one of Approach the Second Sun.
“Opponent does have many Ob Nixilises” I’m pretty sure the plural is “Obs Nixilis”
I have a fiddlebender infinite mana/paradox engine deck, not too shabby
at 8 18 you should have exiled graveyard to keep future unlicenced herses in check
I do recognize the nonbo with lynches mastery however
Thought Seth was yelling "Elden Ring" at 37:18 I was confused.
why sacred fire and not lightning helix?
You know what would have been great in this deck. Leyline of sanctity
Could Seth have won Game 2? Exile farewell, play queza… if he dodges removal and burn then he blocks the trespasser and eats the bonecrusher exiling 4 lands… then untap win?
I was playing this irl and won
Why is the Seth Fish over the camera? 😂
Personally I just use peer into the abyss with her
I learned demonic pact and harmless offering is better.
Finally a deck that loses to life gain.
Opens 2 lands on first hand "one land no keep".
Edit: I was wrong.
First hand WAS a one-lander. The two-land hand was after the mulligan.
@@ryanvm9728 Oh you're right.
Had been playing this on historic brawl, its so easy to pull off that it's actually a little boring lol.
Why don't the video titles show the format anymore?
That was just an oversight. Should be fixed now.
Third heh, absolutely love these jank decks
I love against the odds. But to be fair I watch everything you do 😂 I feel like we are pals at this point. Parasocial relationships for the win!
There's a LOT going on in the deck 😅😅 maybe that's because it's against the odds lol
48:52 epic fail here - you should have just drained them for 2 which makes their thoughtsieze dead and the maestros charm you draw lethal. Being a streamer doesn’t mean you are good at the game, clearly.
The fact a card as powerful as Queza is unplayable outside of a combo is such a telling indictment of the power creep that has ruined this game.
drain gang gtbsg bladee city
I said it already but I'll say it again "I see explorer and pioneer I like, I see alchemy, I dislike and leave" a simple formula.
why do you talk like that
Dude your intro is sooooo anoying "prubublybknownas ehrurjjjnrh"
