LeBron James sleeps 12 hours a day to recover as fully as possible. And basketball is NOWHERE near the same cardio demands as football

Yes, it's true. But they play much more games in a shorter period than footballers. Regardless, sleep is literally the cheat code behind high-level recovery.

@@FootyTutor yeah, but the reason they can play more games is precisely because the cardio demands are nowhere near the same.
I was invited to my first NBA game in LA at the Crypto Arena (formerly the Staples Center) a couple of months ago... I was shocked at how little cardio they do.
There's an interruption every minute or so (sometimes every 30 seconds). Each quarter is supposed to be 12 min, but including all the interruptions, they're more like 25+ min each (and what should be a 48 min game turns into a 2-2.5 hour game). More time is spent in a basketball game not playing than actual playing time. There's also time outs. AND you can sub the ENTIRE team out and put a fresh one in, which I saw a couple of times. And the subbed out players can get subbed back in later after they're rested. AND the entire basketball court fits INSIDE of the penalty area in a football pitch lol. I walked away from that basketball game astounded by how little cardio those players did the entire game. It was laughable, tbh
