Heyy!! Olive Garden worker here! I can promise you that bread is constantly coming out! We have a designated bread person and we have a batch coming out every 10 minutes that’s why it never seems to end.
thank god if they started having someone be a designated bread person bc when I worked there ten years ago us servers had to constantly be going into the back and making the bread too, it was horrible lol

As a former Olive Garden employee i can 100% assure you we do not reuse our breadsticks. Some olive gardens depending on how busy they get have a designated person only for making breadsticks. But ANYTHING that touches a table can’t be sent back it immediately has to be thrown away whether it’s a gigantic salad or a basket full of breadsticks. They go through so much waste it’s ridiculous. Current server at Olive Garden here, just to confirm that we do not reuse the breadsticks. Normally bussers will come by our sections and clear off our tables. However, fun fact: Olive Garden actual works with Feeding America hence the logo on our aprons. At the end of the night any and all leftovers get bagged and picked up in the morning to be delivered to the nearest food banks. 😊
Well, not "any and all leftovers". Lasa's and soups are always donated. Eggplant parms go in the trash (along with leftover breadsticks). Most of the sauces are vacuum sealed and placed in an ice bath for use the next morning(5 cheese and alfredo go in the trash), and pasta is stored in the walk-in for use the next morning as well.
i am sobbing thinking about the DAY those employees had.

shane, i used to work for olive garden and i can confirm we DID NOT reuse the breadsticks that weren’t eaten by customers. We got loads of bread delivered every few days and i will in fact say we did run out of bread once lol

As a previous worker at Olive Garden I can confidently say that we didn’t reuse our breadsticks. Behind the scenes most of us were always buttering and putting breadsticks in the oven all throughout our shifts to make sure they were always fresh. It was part of our job to always make sure bread was in the oven in preparation for tables.
And If they aren’t eaten at a table they go straight to the trash. So sorry to break your theory.

I worked at Olive Garden as a server for a while and I would immediately throw away whatever food was leftover as well as the bussers. Even when it’s closing, we had some leftover and would either take it home or unfortunately throw them away.

Hiya Shane! I worked at Olive Garden for three years. We get dozens of boxes of precooked, frozen breadsticks. They come in plastic bags. We thaw and cook them im big ovens. They can only sit after cooking for 10-15 minutes, after that they’re throw in the garbage and we make fresh bread. If the table doesn’t eat the bread we just throw them away.
The only reason someone would ‘reuse’ bread would be a bad server stealing ‘old-used bread’ from an old table and reusing it for their own table. Basically as an OG server, you have to have a basket of fresh bread down shortly after your guests are greeted. A lot of times we have someone making bread, but sometimes people get busy and we might not have a bread person, so waiting for fresh bread can become an issue. So I could see how a server that doesn’t care about their table could just grab old bread and pass it along.
But yeah, all bread is thrown out! Managers actually check the bread for freshness fairly often.
I second this lol. When I worked there we never reused bread. Sometimes untouched bread would get eaten by the servers though. We had a HUGE trashcan full of uneaten breadsticks.

As a server who has worked in a restaurant where we serve bread, I can 100% tell you that the reason they swoop your bread away is because we've seen how clean you are and taking it back to eat ourselves hahhahahhaaa

hey as some that works at olive garden we have a person that specifically makes the bread, starts as premade frozen breadsticks then they put butter and salt then we bake it in an oven, after 10 minutes without being used we throw out and make new ones
For future reference, any of those bulk order brands will send you free samples of any of their products to check out before you buy "bulk".
As an Olive Garden Busser, we are told in an earpiece/walkie-talkie which table gets up and to go clean it, hence why we swoop up the tables so fast. We also are to put trash and plates in the middle of our cart to save ourselves time for other tables that have got up. Glasses go on top and the cloths are put on the bottom. We then take the cart back and empty it. We put glasses into a crate and we toss all the food away and put the plates where the dishwasher is so he can clean it all. The Linnons (I know I spelled it wrong) go into a bag where they can then be taken to be washed. I can assure you that we don’t have enough time or space to set the breadsticks on the side to be reused. It’s a lot easier for us to toss them away and just grab new ones as there is someone who has their main job to just make breadsticks.

Olive Garden worker here! We definitely do not reuse bread sticks lol. As a server i personally made 7 pans of bread in 15 mins because we just sell so many. We also have ToGo specialist, where they do catering orders. So people can buy over 100 breadsticks. We throw away every breadsticks that we’re not used from guest. We CONSTANTLY have boxes of breadsticks 🤣🤣

I work at OG we do NOT reuse breadsticks from tables. Once an item touches a table it cannot even be sent to another table or reused for anything else. It has to be thrown away and remade if anything.

It felt like shane's content used to revolve around such a network of friends and then post cancellation his circle that showed up in content became so insular with the few people that he trusted- at first just ryland and then slowly we saw more of jared and then lizzie and chris came to be in front of the camera more and then sandy was introduced on the pod and now spencer! and it feels like such a beautiful group of people who really love each other- it doesnt feel like theres this sense of restrictive insular-ness anymore but its still a large group of people he can trust. it gives me a warm feeling to watch them all just have little shenanigans like im guessing watching the show friends does for him
