I just bought the new 2023 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum and I absolutely love it, 💯 %. I love all the features and value. Before buying it, I test drove the Kia Telluride, Buick Enclave, Jeep, and the Nissan Rogue. Out of all of them, the Pathfinder was the winner.

I had murano (2017) for 6 years and now switched to Pathfinder (2023) 3 months back. Pathfinder definitely have lot of advance driver assist and other technology package features but few things i used to like in Murano better than Pathfinder.
First and foremost, In Pathfinder at times you keep pressing the gas paddle, the vehicle makes a lot of noise but not speeding up even if you press the paddle to the max. Not sure if it is a bug in automatic transmission or working as intended but it is very annoying. Murano's CVT transmission system was much smoother and i never faced this issue.
In Pathfinder even if you turn off the vehicle Bluetooth is not getting disconnected. Music will only turn off when you open the door and not on turning off the vehicle. Phone will not disconnect even after opening the door. I always have to take my phone out and manually switch the speakers so i can continue with the call. In Murano BT was disconnected when you turn off the vehicle and speaker was switched to phone automatically.
In Pathfinder even if any door is unlocked/open and you hit the lock button on the key it makes the car lock beep/sound suggesting the car is locked though the vehicle is not locked properly. In Murano until all the doors are closed properly car was not making lock signal/sound. Tried to reach out to Nissan but they said it is working as intended. To me false signal/beep is definitely a problem.
In Pathfinder pros I like the lane assist feature, heated seats (even the second row), heated steering, increased seating capacity to name few.
Overall I feel I was more satisfied with Murano than I am with Pathfinder for whatever little time I drove it till now.

I for one like to continue talking on the phone even if I turn off the engine after getting home. The phone cuts off after opening the door but radio often does not and plays in an empty car. Pathfinder is bigger than Murano and I consider it a big plus. It is a heavier car so it guzzles more gas than Murano though. Despite very gentle highway driving I never got above 27 mpg in my 4WD. In Murano I got 27-28 on the same route. I don't own a Murano but drove it for a week when my car was in a shop. The Pathfinder locks properly after locking it with remote but it has a feature that if you grab the door handle and have your fob close to door it unlocks automatically so you can have impression that it does not lock. You can lock it back by touching the grooved part of the handle. Please read instructions to learn how to properly operate this feature.
@@sailrider4411 I am aware that if i grab the door handle with key fob near it, it unlocks and that is not an issue. Issue i mentioned is that, Even If any or all of the doors are wide open and i walk away from the car ( or press the lock button on the key from some distance ), it still flashes the car lock flashlight and makes car-lock beep sound giving the false impression that car is locked, even though all gates are wide open. This is a clearly an issue and happened to me once when i walked away (relying on the car lock flashlight and sound) while one of the passenger side door was wide open. Fortunately someone came running behind to tell me that your car door is open. I am now curious how it behaves when trying remote car lock feature from nissan connect phone app (which i did not try yet).

This was not happening with Murano. In Murano if any of the gates is open and i hit the lock button on the key, it was not flashing the lock light or making lock sound which was a clear indication that car is not locked.

I prefer the Pathfinder, but really like the Murando as well. I love the rugged look of the Pathfinder. I test drove the Pathfinder platinum, Murano platinum, and Rogue platinum. All three of them were great. As much as I love the Pathfinder, I ended up purchasing the Murano platinum, primarily because of the price difference. I don’t need the 3rd row seat and would rarely use the towing package, and the Murano was priced right.

I have a 2018 Murano and I keep thinking that Nissan will eventually drop the Murano. Mine is a Platinum and I get about 33 mpg on the highway. It's great for a large car.

I did a lease on Murano 2015 and 2020 and like both, but I just got myself a new pathfinder 2023 and I think is more comfortable than Murano.

VQ35DE in the Murano is the GOAT. No direct injection, no cylinder deactivation, no timing belts..
Just a smooth, simple, reliable engine. Best V6 on the market IMO.
Pathfinder add Direct injection. . More power and more efficieny but long term?? Remains to be proven.

I agree, the interior is dated, but I absolutely love it anyways.
I took a road trip from Miramichi to Bathurst and back, during one 100k stretch I averaged 5.9L/100. Remember, V6 AWD.
That's very economical for a car that size 👍
like my 2020 murano.. smooth drive. comfortable seats.. lots of power for what I do.. hopefully it will be reliable

I must be lucky, I am on my second Murano and my combined fuel economy is 8.2 litres /100 km, on highway driving to Florida I average 7.3 litres/ 100/km, another feature that wasn’t mentioned is in my Murano when you have your hi beams on they automatically dim when on coming traffic comes into view. We are now looking at buying another Murano, as we are approaching 100,000 Km on the 2019.
I did a comparison of equivalent vehicles size wise, Lexus, Hylander, Acura and Infiniti, bang for the buck the Murano is still my favourite. In my opinion the Pathfinder is too boxy, the styling of the Murano is still great since I bought my first in 2016.

Pathfinder has always been a suv on a truck platform they are trying to keep the truck look
The Murano has not changed since 2015. It needs a major update.

It actually has. In 2019 Nissan added a face-lift with LED lights all around standard, and added the platinum trim which gives the diamond stitched seats and more. Muranos exterior held up, but yes the interior is definitely outdated. The murano rides soooo smooth tho.
Murano tech is ancient compared to the pathfinder.
@@flyingdin1164 Well not really. It’s more of the interior looks. The murano has most of Nissans new software and features. The muranos interior doesn’t really change, and idk why. I actually don’t mind the Muranos interior.
@@bentleysteven-leedolzadell6466 The Platinum trim was available in 2015. All Nissan has done since this gen was released was the addition of full LED lighting, a few bells and whistles in the interior, and that's about it. (I own a 2015)
I wouldn’t buy any Nissan vehicle but if I was given only these two I’d choose the Parhfinder because it comes with a 9 speed automatic transmission while the Murano comes with one of the worst CVT transmission.

Pathfinder for the win. The only 2 things I don’t like in the pathfinder is the auto start/stop, when you hit the button for cruise control you have to scroll back to the speed odometer I think Nissan could do better

Maybe a nissan rogue platinum instead? You'll be missing the cooled seats in the murabo though but everything else is good in some ways and it's cheaper.

I owned a 2015 Murano and just bought the 2023 Pathfinder Platinum and the Pathfinder wins hands down. No CVT, 6000lbs of towing, 4 wheel drive a winner.

The Murano was refreshed inside & outside in 2019 so it did receive changes that year. It's been mostly the same since the refresh

I have before 2 Murano S models 2020,2023 now I just got 2024 Pathfinder S in Murano Sits was more comfortable but pathfinder more powerful and have very good turn radius more powerful But honestly, I like them both

CVT transmission is for a person like me. Take my time, nerver ever in a rush. I'M Retired, kick laid-back, always slow on the go. I'm happy, just putt putt putting, my azz down the world of the platium infinity road of fun.

The pathfinder has room for seven, the murano has five. Two very different SUVs. If you need more room, get the pathfinder. Less, the murano. I've had both and both are great SUVs for the purpose I bought them for.

I stuck with another Murano. I am on my second one, zero regrets. I had a 2015 and now a 2022. Pathfinder was just too big for me. Came down to comfortable ride and gas mileage. But depends on your car needs.

I took the new pathfinder sv one from October and I still have the 2015 Nissan pathfinder sv which means I have both pathfinders lol, and gonna have to agree with you, pathfinder is really reliable than the murano cuz the pathfinder has more cargo and good screen, and the murano didn’t even have the screen like the pathfinder, and the murano doesn't have more cargo.

@Cars Unlocked That's not a Pathfinder Platinum, this is a Pathfinder SL. The Platinum has two-tone machined silver & black wheels

I own a Murano an I live my car the ride, interior, room size, cargo because I don’t need the third row so my Murano is a fun truck to drive 😄

I just purchased the 2022 Rogue Platinum, I went with the Rogue because the Murano looked so dated and the Pathfinder was too big for me..

it's possible for Nissan to drop the Murano in favor of the Ariya EV, Rogue platinum trim, or even lower trim Pathfinder

Pathfinder....wins every comparison between the two (including seat comfort). The Murano interior looks old as hell especially after showing it immediately after the the Pathfinder interior.

Marano could never fill me
You couldn't get a less butt-ugly color for the Pathfinder to compare with that cool red in the Murano. You also didn't mention that the spare tire is hanging under the car so you're going to get a lot dirtier changing a flat with the Pathfinder. How about doing a comparison of the SLs . You're doing a comparison of price levels which many can't handle. So they go for the Murano Platinum although for feature that count, the SL Pathfinder might be a better choice. This comparison has as much value as a comparison of a Rolls Royce and a Maybach.

Надо отдать должное , удачный дизайн мурано и сегодня остаётся актуальным. А последняя версия с 19-го года и того лучше. Да, сильный козырь буксировка 2720 кг пафика против 680 кг у Мура . Эт точно.. Однако Японцы отлично понимают, что по соотношению цена качество Мур - выигрышная модель относительно конкурентов . Производство давно отработано и за счёт количества можно держать цену ниже. Иногда погоня за новизной не оправдана и здесь Мурано отличный компромисс.
