I can't believe I've been using opus for years and never use this. Very helpful. Would love to see more videos like this. Dopus is such a great program but it lacks the kind of training that videos like this provide to uncover it's full potential. Whenever they come out with an update, i look at the change log and usually have no idea how to use the intricate details of what they added. Thanks for doing this.

Great feature, and well presented - thanks! Really appreciate you showing how to get the most out of this great file manager. I just tried it out on my movies directories, which are laid out a lot like your example, and immediately I was like, hey, I forgot I had that!
“Folder structures are there to sort, not to view”. Exactly. That’s what it all boils down to. I have a garage full of hundreds of drawers/tubs where all my tools and resources are kept. I have to rely on memory to know how to access everything, and even then I find myself searching through various spots. Why do I have to repeat the same physical chores when I’m on a completely digital system? Windows think their Search function is the be-all end-all, but it’s way too simplistic for power users.

@@Darkuni It's a freeware file renaming utility. I used it a lot until finding something slightly better just this last few weeks, actually. I use "Rename Expert" now, which isn't freeware, but can also do this. I still keep Lupas around as it has the ability to also treat folders as if they are files when applying rename commands as well. Not always something one needs, but it is the one thing the new program doesn't seem to cover.
@@VagendaAdnegav One of the best things about Dopus is the insanely powerful renaming. I was able to replace whatever it was I used at the time. You can even write code to do the rename if you can't find it in the UI :D

Do you have a tutorial on photo/video thumbnails & previews in Opus? If FlatView™ could be combined with scalable video thumbnails and a scrub feature, I could cut months off of my "30 years of family videos" project! Thank you.
This should be relatively easy. I'm away from my PC right now, but combining FlatView and Thumbnails + Preview should be a couple of clicks... If you run into problems, let me know ... It would be a short video :)

@@Darkuni IMO, Microsoft should buy Opus and add it to the OS. They could also just include Notepad ++ instead of the tired base apps (notepad.)

Oh, this is revolutionary! How has it not been thought of before? So, so cool.
LupasRenamer has an option identical to flat view and its 23 years old - but I still love it here also.
