why is Lewis crying in the thumbnail? He should be ecstatic - early confirmation that he 1,000% made the right move to grab next year's Ferrari seat.
He's done it again. This guy is incredible at spotting opportunities in the driver market, and timing his moves well. I think this will be a season of preparation for Ham, and if anything, he's probably excited seeing where Ferrari is moving. He's setting himself up for greatness in a year or two!
You're right....but there's still a long way to go before Lewis joins Ferrari,so Lewis might start to get more and more frustrated, especially if he's the guinea pig for Merc this season,and Ferrari gets stronger as the season progresses.

It's one thing to be stuck in a helpless situation (Merc), it's another thing to be in a helpless situation that you know has a definitive end date (Merc -> Ferrari). Agreed that there's no guarantee that 2025 will mirror 2021, but if one thing is abundantly clear (so far), it's that Ferrari has the best fighting chance under these regulations. Bravo to Lewis for maximizing his chances with a well played move.

What was the point of Alpine getting rid of Otmar Szafnauer? Surely, if you get rid of a Team Principal, you do so with a Plan B ready to roll. Maybe Otmar was far from the be all-end all. But, Alpine appears to have removed Otmar and had zero Plan B ready to go (and still don't have one).

You are smart. There is a balance between top speed, and downfore being generated. More top speed means less downforce, so it is all about finding that perfect balance between the two. This also shows up in tire temperatures in qualifying. If you put all of these factors together, Ferrari, with Fred now at The Helm, are making tremendous gains.
@@stephensegal5187 all team are almost equal on speed without drs about 2 or 3 . The problem is drs efficiency thats where RedBull is crushing the others. Aston has a good drs efficiency too.

on the alpine side i think that renault could come up with an engine to rival the honda unit that seems pick of the bunch right in terms of the way the different systems are working together, but renault may just be able to show up to the party in 26 engine wise at least

So far this season, the Mercedes team has had more than $2 million dollars worth of car damage repairs caused by GR only.
Yuki is fine at VCARB. He has decent speed, but relying on him as your secondary driver is not the best idea. For your 2nd seat you need consistency. Giving Yuki a highly sensitive car, which is what RB always evolves in during the season, wouldn’t be a good combination.
Saintz would be the ideal candidate.

So you reckon RB changed entire concept to increase performance ceiling and somehow already reached that in 3 races with parts that was under development likely before the season even started.....
If seat goes to Yuki, they might get Honda to co-operate for many years. Honda would not like to miss out on that Epic chance for Japanese Racing.. This might be the smartest move for Red Bull. I think decision will be around Canada GP for several drivers
(1) Emissions emitted by Williams chassis having to travel all around the world for repair...that emitted alone is higher than the potential emissions saving due to 2026 regulations
(2) Marko wants Yuki to keep the door open with Honda partnership. At the end of the day Ford powertrain may need to be abandoned for a Honda to keep competitive pace
(3) Lando made the decision to stay at McLaren based on pure emotion. It's only because of Zak Brown. Lando has a special connection with Zak that goes back to his first days of racing even in go karts.
The only challenger and challenge Red Bull has are Jos,Marko and Max and the quicker they go the better Red Bull will get!

It's obvious that there's a lack of interest from those higher up at Renault. The whole project is a failure, the rebrand to Alpine has done nothing for them either. The average fan isn't even aware that Alpine is an actual car manufacture.

Nope. There is a theoretical perfect car that could be built to the current rules. As teams get closer to this, it is harder to make gains. It's the rule of diminishing returns which is why cars get closer to each other if the rules stay stable for a few years.
