Flash Flood on I-15 Moapa Valley between Las Vegas and Mesquite Nevada

Our trip took a very scary turn yesterday. 4 inches of water landed on the desert floor in a 2 hour period just as we were headed from Las Vegas to Page Arizona in a shuttle bus. That amount of rain is HALF of the annual average of rain for that area. I now know firsthand why they are called "flash" floods. You don't expect to see that amount of water start gushing down the interstate in front of you. Watching the interstate asphalt just go away before your eyes is frightening.

This took so long to fix, wow what a mess out here. Sometimes I wish there was another way to get from Vegas to Mesquite...or St. George. Thanks for the memories..what a horror that was. A "flash flood" is exactly that, no one knew it was coming.........!!
