It's always nice to see a well used bike with countless miles behind it being restored to such fantastic condition. I envy some bike owners who buy a bike and get the absolute most out of it for years and years. I'm guilty of changing my bike every two years and I've known people who've owned the same bike for over a decade or more and are still satisfied with it. That's a sign of a good quality bike and also a credit to services like Bikespeeds who ensure these bikes live a long active life.

Hey! Big fan. One Question though. I heard that you should never use Copper Paste when aluminium is involved due to some chemical reaction that causes some corrosion. What is your take on that? Thanks in advance!

    • @Bikespeeds

The corrosion is between the steel and aluminium on bikes not the one element of copper on either of those. The copper is actually there to prevent that exact corrosion🧡

I hope you regularly check the torque wrench because those click type torque wrench’s go off spec a lot. I notice you don’t use a spoke protector as well, not sure why. I personnaly hate quick release anything. Too easy for stuff to get stolen and doesn’t help when you get a puncture at all. Everything we removed felt torqued correctly, a few components were greased that usually aren’t and from the upgraded jockey wheels and fresh pads you can tell that at some point money has been spent on it. The brake wheel touches the stationery side of the brake caliper and pad. I aired the tire up to 40 psi as the markings say 40-60psi. Left the house for a few hours and came back to an exploded innertube. All in all it seems to be a good bike. Have not ridden it yet though so that's the max of my knowledge. Update, put a new innertube made sure the tire was set properly and it did the same thing in under 20 minutes as second pic shows.
