    i’m sorry about your loss of african night crawlers. i know this hits you much harder than just a business loss because you care so much for all your worms not just the pets in your towers. my heart aches with yours because recently i was given some worms and killed almost all of them inside of a week due to the bucket going anaerobic. i wasn’t able to check on it soon enough to prevent it. we saved all we could but i felt just absolutely awful about my poor worms. i dream of being a good worm farmer one day. i’m so glad i’ve found your channels! thank you so much for sharing your experience with us!

    If you mount a funnel shaped skirt under each tub, that'd make everything drop directly into the next tub. Peace. Oh I meant to compliment you on it. That is a neat little sifter. I might have to make one. But, if I get compliments, I'm gonna take the credit for it. Yeah.peace

      The new mesh I got is 2.3 MM and I think it’s gonna work out OK. We use that one because I had that laying around and it makes the finest castings but way too small

    You would get more vibration if you fasten your trays with the screens to the frames that they're sitting on

    The hook thingy holding the spring is called a turn-buckle. It's being used as an adjustable length spring retainer. Thanks for the video.

    The sifter looks great! I like because it is vertical it saves space and the fact you can switch out the bins to different sizes! Any issues with the unit sliding along the floor or does it lock in place?

    • @TheGardenAndWormLady
      @TheGardenAndWormLady  2 роки тому +1

      The unit is built onto the table that has rubber feet. It doesn’t budge. I don’t have a ton of space right now so that’s why we built it vertically

      I have just started my Worm farm.
      With intentions to grow!.
      I have at this time 600 red wigglers.
      I have them nesting in peatmoss,shredded newspapers & a small portion of compost.
      I'm working on educating my self to the fullest on,
      What's the hottest temperature that I should not exceed for a healthy life spa d?!.
      And wich is the coldest?!.
      I'm residing in Orlando Florida.
      So the climate is not like up north..
      But,like I said,
      Education is the key for me right now.
      I'm doing it for the passion & my vegetable garden.
      But,in the future,I would like to probly make some profits out of it,
      To continue ue in growth .
      A yways I will be keeping in touch.
      Thank you once again for your kindness, I am truly blessed...

    On the variable speed controller, did you push the switch to "VAR"? VAR stands for variable, and FULL strands for full speed. The FULL side of the switch will bypass the variable control knob and run it at full speed. The VAR post of the switch allows the control knob to control the speed faster or slower depending on which way you turn it.

    That's a great harvester! May I ask how many watts your vibration motor is? I see them ranging from 15-100w in the model you've got, and it would help me to know which to choose. Thanks!

    What part of the harvester is the motor attached to? Does it vibrate the entire wooden frame or is it somehow situated where it only vibrates the pans?

    • @TheGardenAndWormLady
      @TheGardenAndWormLady  2 роки тому

      The motor is attached to the frame and it vibrates the entire thing. We connected the motor to one of those button things that supposed to control the speed, well the thing doesn’t work

    • @waynetadlock9719
      @waynetadlock9719 2 роки тому +1

      The 1/16th inch =1.587mm. The 2.3mm doesn't easily translate into a fraction: 5/64 is 1.984mm and the next common use fraction is = 3/32 if an inch at 2.831mm.
      For comparison, the 1/8th inch mesh is 3.175 mm & 1/4 inch is 6.35mm. 😉
