Thank you so much for the comment! I had to rewatch it to see what I did in the editing. There are some good stuff in there that I should implement in other future videos. It's always nice to hear positive feedback. Thanks again!
Wow what beautifully done piano bench! It could perfectly match with all the classic black Yamahas/Steinway/Baldwins pianos perfectly. And they sell those online for $100 and you made this for what $9? 😂 good deal. I also think this is really amazing and sweet hearing you did this for your son! Your support will help him greatly in his future! I hope he’s still playing!!
I’m impressed at how well it instantly improved your sons piano playing. Im going to make myself a guitar bench and hope for the same results! Thanks for sharing.
Ha ha ha....you caught that, huh? It was quite impressive. 😉 Hope you have as good of results on your guitar bench. Good luck, and thanks for the comment.
Gary, this is so weird.I couldn't comment from my phone,so just went on my laptop and voila ! I must say Alex does an amazing job,oh and the piano bench was great too.
What is the name of that tune he was playing at the end of the video ? Looks like that would be a good exercise for playing with both hands at the same time. I learning BOOGIE WOOGIE piano, and using both hands coordination is the most challenging.
14:48 ha I love how you have him playing chopsticks with bad technique 😂 you can tell he’s good musician by how purposefully bad he is playing 😂 so cool
Wait...Have I been lied to all these years? I always thought that a stain was supposed to be wiped after allowing a few minutes to soak in, but I see people all the time just painting it on and it doesn't appear they are wiping the excess afterwards. So that leaves me to believe either 1)that's just boring and assumed so it's not included in the video, or 2) you don't actually have to wipe after applying a stain.
I'm in Oregon. Where are you located? I can find good deals every now and again, but the prices were I live are pretty high. I'm in a very low populated are of the Central Coast.
Aw, bummer, I’m in NC. The cost just to ship them here would be really expensive. I was hoping you were on the East Coast. Your bench looks great though still!
Hey thank a lot! Yeah, just doesn't sound economical to ship across the country. Thanks for the inquiry though, and I hope you find the right person for the job! Good luck.
Nice woodworking however I waited thirteen minutes to get to the hinges. Booooom, fast forwarded through the important part of how to get the correct spacing on the hinges as well as how to get the top attached to the hinge.
I like your approach to woodworking, but in this video especially liked the camera work and editing. Thanks for the ideas.

Great job and the piano playing improved as well. Win Win
Ha ha ha....I forgot about that. Thanks!
My dad has never done even a fraction of this for me. It's really sweet you're making this for your son. I hope y'all are safe and happy
Thank you. The bench is sturdy and and still holding up!🙂 We are perfect.
Edwin from Costa Rica Gary . Thank you for sharing!!!
Hey Edwin! Thanks for watching in Costa Rica!
What an excellent job Gary. Thank you.
Thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed it!🙂
I was just looking up how to make my own piano bench when I bumped into your video. Absolutely fantastic, thank you!
Thanks Zach! Good luck with it. I hope you gained a little help or inspiration with from video.👍
This helped a bunch! I’m trying to figure out how to make my mom a piano bench for Christmas and this was a great tutorial
That sounds like a great gift. I wish you luck in your build! Thanks for the comment. 👍
good work🤝
Thank you! 🤜🤛
What is the best type of joint so the bench will not making any noise?
Nice - I really dig your approach to this project and I'm definitely subscribing! Also, you're an awesome dad.
Awesome Daniel! Thank you for the support and your kind words.
Ha ha ha...his playing skills were amazing after that new amazing bench!!
Ha ha...yup, that was quite the bench.
Power up +++
Could I get the bench measurements? I would like to make my own piano bench as well!
Gary, this is so weird.I couldn't comment from my phone,so just went on my laptop and voila ! I must say Alex does an amazing job,oh and the piano bench was great too.
Thanks mom! He has been practicing on his own almost daily. The new bench has given him better posture for sure.

Ha...thanks! I thought that was pretty clever 😊. He has grown since then and is pretty good for being self-taught. Thank you for the comments!

Is there anyway to latch or lock the top incase someone tries to move it by lifing from the overhang on the top???
How did you know which way to flip it on the second cut on the taper?
I bought those same clamps...haha!
Ha....yeah, must be Harbor Freight, I don't remember but the way they bend every time I use them makes me think they are.....but hey, they work! 👍🏻
What is that blue faced plywood? I’m looking for a non warping TS sled material
What was the wood plastic for? Was it just to fix some problems or was it used as a grain filler or something like that?
I used it to fill in some holes on the recycled piece of plywood.
What state are you located in? I’m looking to pair up with someone who can build basic piano benches for a very reasonable cost of materials.

Jim Bryan’s American cousin 😂
Hmmm...don't know Jim Bryan. I hope it's a good thing. :-)
