One of the cleanest interiors this series has ever seen.
My favorite. To the point.
Been watching you videos for a while Ronny, love your stuff. Interesting to rewatch this and see how much your filming/editing has changed. Also good to too you checked off the Anne Beadell highway off your bucket list.
9:05.....That's what she said. Sorry i really and truly couldn't help it. Cool vid .
That is one sweet prize right there!
Should deffs do another one on the 4.2s !
Sweet Rig!!!!!!
awesome rig. I like the power mods. well thought out.
Lovely wheels!
That’s a cold dad
Love the modified's. Need another GU ute Ronny!
+A Brand hmmm I think you might be very pleased in the coming weeks 😉
+Ronny Dahl (4 Wheeling in W.A.) I like what I hear. legend
My parents own a English Bull Terrier too! awesome
6 years later still a rig , Unfortunately rocky wasn't interested 😂
Awesome Ronny mate, love these videos, can't help thinking you'll run out of mates trucks at some point though :-)
Haha yeah my thoughts before I started this segment. There are at least 10-15 more I can feature which have had plenty done, also anyone can contact me if they would like there vehicle featured. We will also feature vehicles from our video tour trips as we now allow 1-2 vehicles to join us on trips on the tough tracks and adventure trips;)
top truck the GU, nice turbo diesel motor the 4.2, perfect drive line
What a weapon.
I wanna get myself a tacoma to mod. You aussie's mod your shit right. The only thing we know how to mod over here in the US are jeeps. Not complaining, because I'm a jeep man as well, but I don't think my old cherokee would do so well overlanding, or touring as I think you guys call it
JohnReviewer112 Though I would like more of a lift because I think it looks better. But I know you guys have some law or something about that
Speak for yourself. Maybe the only thing you know how to mod is a jeep, but the rest of us here in the U.S. have been modifying everything we can get our hands on for quite some time
Excelente carro 4x4 muy buena modificación g÷)
Re-modified time Ronny, you should re-visit these old episodes with updates to how they're going now
Hi Mark curently finishing a 6.6 Duramax conversion and Ronny is keen to do another
holden shirt, dog named brocky. he must own a holden?
Such a nice gu
Fuel stops in the cape range from 1.70p/l to around 2.10p/l so the fuel capacity on that monster would be great!
great vieo,11 out of 10
thanks Elian Hasanaga
Ey Ronny great episode, if your down in Victoria and willing do a episode on my 79. You should ask "If you got to do it again what would you change or do differently?" It will be good info on things people have done but can be improved/ changed to save $$ for others. Keep up the great work man and come to Victoria good tracks down here in winter
thanks for your feedback happydonut84 and I like your suggestion about "If you got to do it again what would you change or do differently?" Great idea mate will add it to the Q & A
fantastic...ronny do u have any recommendations for this truck regarding the fifth gear? its too short...like 200 rpm differince only from fourth ..that consumes alot of gas ..i have the vtc 4800..fifth is useless..what do u recommend me to do?
he looks like big lez
Jordan Pritchard true
@Drop Bear he went for the GU as it was a great deal for the money he paid it.
Hey Ronny how much hp/kw and torque was he making with those mods as I want to buy a td42 patrol but want to get as much out of it as i can.
Where did he get his canopy
Hey mate, love your videos been a sub for ages now! I have an 80 series Landcruiser if your ever in NSW let me know I'll hit some tracks
thanks for the offer mate...
What size Turbo and what's the brand name? I have the same model as you. I am thinking of doing the same modifications. Thanks Pat.
Whats regarded as a better 4x4 the Nissan or a 79 series ??? .
Had lots of Nissan cars and always been happy with them , never owned a Toyota
what can be done about changing the seats in the nissan patrol ute
It's a monster...
300,000 and still going strong? How was the turbo? Any rebuilding neccessary?
Yeah turbo has been rebuilt and now runs close the 30psi
FYI You only need an airbox lid to get 200kw @ wheels not a full airbox got 2 mates with it it's fine
Another top video Ronny, why bid Dave choose to go with a Nissan instead of another Toyota? Not that theres anything wrong with that, the GU is a beast.
You should do one on an 80 series
Will see what we can do...
I'm you're 100,000 subscriber
I would really like to know where he got the custom canopy made. I say its the best looking soft topper I've seen!
Hi BrutalExtinction I will alert him to the question for you.
Thanks for the reply David Krome, How do I get hold of your son in law to discuss a Truck bed like this one?
Thanks
9:05 My Wife keeps telling me this too !
Anyone know the type of bars he has?
Does anyone know the specific engine mods?
G'day Ronny, loving your videos mate. Interesting point at the start of the video when you mentioned your truck flexes like a brick. I'm torn between a 76 wagon and a 4.2 GU wagon; the flex of the 76 is making me question whether I should go with the GU however I love the power and noise of the turbo 8 in the 76. Any feedback you could give would be great regarding the flex between the two vehicles and if the coils are a big advantage.
Glen Elsworth you can't beat coils, the best trucks for flex with little suspension mods are the 80 series landcruiser, the GU Patrol and the Jeep Wrangler. You can get the 70series to flex well but a lot of modding is required. Compared to an IFS (independent front suspension vehicle) the 70 series will out flex any day but compared to a coil 80 or GU they can flex like a brick and the cause of this is the rear leaf packs and the extra weight I'm carrying.
With lockers you can overcome and lack of flex also keep in mind a 76 wagon with be much lighter than a 79 with a canopy and steel tray ;)
Cheers thanks very much mate! Great video's keep them coming!
What radiator is that???
Would Love to Know Who made the air box? Im looking for one atm and want to keep my Second Battery.
ports787 sorry for late reply. On Track Fabrication Perth
Hey Dave thanks for the reply. I'll check them out. I live 2 hours north of Perth so that makes life even easier
was browsing your old vids, just curious what kind of mileage does this rig get?
+june tiu i think he said in the is video he expected to get 1500 - 1600 out of the tanks
Is that a labradordorl
Well, now I don't feel so bad about slacking on getting a winch. Bumpers are expensive =(
Bitch, that's my seat!

The owner needs to read up on ADR 13/00 . It is illegal to mount a light bar ( or spot lights ) on top of the bullbar top rail.
Tyres are illegal too

Did He Ever Get His 79 Back ?
+Brayden The Gamer Official no pretty much vanished
how much did he pick it up for?
jerseyproductions a couple of grand i think, might have been less than 3k from memory
thanks ronny
What??!! Why so cheap?
do a skid
4" lift,??,looks std height, body should be as high as the top of rim, inter cooler still small for power.toyotas lsd are no good, nissans actually work, out of the factory.i dont get brush bars, they only protect 2" of where they are fitted.
300,000 km when he bought it!! All that money he poured into it would just disappear in value.
Gort Newton incorrect.
4' lift is illegal in this country for some stooopid reason, unless engineered.so,if you lift an unstable toyota, nissan, with std wheels,2",doesnt that make it more unstable.?.there allways rolling in the club from this.basicaly,if the vehicle is raised 2-4",you should fit 2-4"bigger/wider tires to offset the weight.coil springs in the rear are a waste, leaves are better as they carry weight better, coils are set, even progresive dont cut it.ever looked at a trucks springs ?,some have 2 sets some 3,they come into play as the weight increases.coils cant do that.the army has unimogs, with the same load as the old acco.s,they fell over, why,?.coil springs.!!.so the army spent millions on new trucks that carry less wieght, more trucks less load.
harry walker Cool story harry.
100 percent sure no one bothered to read all of this shit
