Learning of this college is very inspirational. It is part of a journey of tracing the genealogy of a dear family friend who passed away in Feb 2020 at 90 years of age. While Helen L Hill is not a direct descendant of the Rogers, her great uncle Noble Hill married the daughter (Grace) of John AR Rogers and his will Elizabeth. John and Elizabeth were the first teachers with Mr Fee who began the school in 1856. After the war, they returned and spent many years helping to build this fabulous institution. Helen would have been so excited and proud that these fine people were family.
I thank god for people like this on our history.I am a 40 year old white male.I hate what is going on in this country right now.I am ashamed to be white and even have the phrase white privilege to be attached to me because of my skin.But its real.No way to refuse it.People like this need to be in kids history books.People like this in history inspire greatness,bravery and what it TRULY means to bean America.People like this let me feel a little dignity.

@@shrunkenpresence1367 Its a bummer but it is what it is.I just hate that growing up parents family even society makes you proud.Proud to be "white".Then you see all the crap others go through.Then watch a white peron or persons go through the same situation and everything is way different.This is why I speak out and try to perform acts of kindness to anyone and everyone especially someone in the minority.God bless and thanks for kind words and thoughts.Makes the day a lot better.
