Great video! To me, collecting is a continuous cycle of buying and purging because space is always a real concern. So I totally get it. I am currently in a “I want multiple copies of the same movie because it has something unique about it” phase, and I’m already running into space concerns again, lol. I finally figured out my DVD space…but just today I realized my Blu-ray space is a problem now. It just never ends. So, as I said, it’s a constant state of adding and purging from the collection, and personally, I absolutely love it! Keeps things fresh and it’s just fun to go through and figure out what you no longer have an interest in (which constantly changes as well). So that’s my long-winded way of saying great video, Rob, haha!
Damn getting rid of blade. I still have my first dvd I ever bought fear and loathing in Las Vegas I’ll keep it too much sentimental value and memories. Great video.
Great video mate I have been letting a lot of my DVDs go and upgrading my favourites to Blu Ray. House of a 1000 corpse's I love that movie not got the Blu Ray yet.
Makes good sense. Most of what you’re losing you have actually replaced with better and newer versions. Do you sell on eBay or CeX? Wondered what you thought
New subscriber, love the video 🙂Sometimes purging has to be done.I recently got rid of Beyond the rave which i had only kept for so long as it is a Hammer film,Happy Hell Night which i only watched once and hated the evil main characters annoying quips and voice lol and Microwave massacre which was quite funny but not something i would watch again.Traded them all in at Cex for Woman in Black and Haunted house of horror limited blu ray🙂
The reasons why you are getting rid of these makes sense. I couldn't stomach the first purge, but now I see the logic. I'm also reminded of an earlier era, when DVD's were state of the art. Gosh that was such a brief window in time, it's amazing how quickly things change. It won't be long now before we're purging our 4ks in favor of the next upgrade! 😆😅🤣
the only dvds i will never get rid of are more of the classic tv series steptoe and son, only fools, and r you being served as well as old 70s/80s kids stuff like bagpuss the flumps and wilo the wisp cos they were quite hard to het hold off and i recently bough the blade trilogy on blu ray so the dvds will be going
@@jamesjimbob71 IV been a fan for years, got 70 complete series, love the old into the labyrinth, and children of the stones ones, and sapphire and steel, very atmospheric
The Keanu Reeves version of the day the earth stood still sucks. Check out the original Black and White version much much better even though it's in black and white.

Yes! I had a purge this month too… a few 4k upgrades and some films I’m just not going to watch again.

Space is a premium, I can’t personally have multiple copies on multiple formats for the same film.

It’s better to clean house. Get rid of DVDs you’ll never watch.
