Great product review and demo!! You guys in my opinion have given one of the best demo/commentary/review of this amazing kit! Keep up the great videos!
drumstr I agree. I don't know why but in other reviews the sound wasn't good. I think this is the best review!
Best TD 50 Review / Demo / Information video I've seen - and I've been watching them all since the 909 event. Well done. I'll follow your stuff in the future. Great work and great communication.
Thanks Zoe! Very glad you got something out of the video. - Jol.
Hey guys, very well done! Hope we can have a TD-50 drum battle soon:-) Cheers!
Michael! Thanks for the comment. Jimmy says "You're on!" Let's do this drum battle soon...
Great video guys! Just a quick note, you forgot to talk about the muting of the ride by putting your hand on top of it and the new cross stick function where you don't need to bridge the whole snare with your stick.
Amazing review! Regards from Argentina!
really helpful review, cheers!
Wow! Great work guys:) Definitely the best TD-50 overview I've seen so far! Nice chops Jimmy - you made that kit sing - and thanks for the excellent run down of the tech specs Jol.
Thanks Jason! - Jol.
I really enjoyed your video. I've been using electronic drum machines since I started recording. However, now I want to start learning how to play the drums. This kit looks really exciting to use. Thanks for uploading this video! Take care. Sam from machiwoomiapoo channel. :)
Very funny......YOU GUYS are NOT from Roland, but THIS video is the best TD-50 video so far on youtube. You explain the new features very good, much more information and usefull demos here. The only thing which I dont understand is the implementation of own samples? Is it possible to put in a complete sampled kit of a VST library.....let's say a complete kit from Superior Drummer 2 by Toontrack? Because that would be gigabytes of samples? Is that really possible?
chris me thanks very much for answering. I expected that the TD-50 can't do the job with loading full high quality samples. And that makes the TD-50 not too interesting. The Mimic Pro seems to be the better module to wait for. Thank you again
You can have 60+ samples per kit patch with no switching time between kits. Best way to use them is as the final layer for each sound blended in any way you like (mix, switch, fades) with the internal sound engine. This way you don't loose any of the playing features only V-Drums give such as positional, touch and interval awareness and still have the exact sound you want. Each layer can also have their own effects for some great new possibilities... works great
chris me Hey it's my buddy Chris! Nice to see you on here as well... lol!
"...She's an easy lover..." :)
Still one of the best film clips ever!
yup, best vid on these yet.
Very very great job with this gentleman. I do have one question, and I am being extremely lazy here but others may wonder this as well, does the rack from the TD-30KV work with a 22" bass drum?
Again, I apologize for my absolute laziness, but I wanted to give you guys some praise for the quality, thoughtful review and detailed explanation of this kit.
I could simply get up from the desk and measure to find out.
Great Job Gents
I love the review, thanks. nice accent Mates, I live in America, I own the Roland TD-50 AND seven GUNS!!!! God Bless America!!
I see that come together fill
Please rectifies the video by adding subtitle, Td-50 cannot imports VST directly and not supported, only 2 wave files per zone and manually\processed from owner side with their own risk, limited to 128mb, the importing 3rd party Thomas Haake sound and multi-layers sound is very misleading, several people are confused about this, thanks!
Yeah but, no but, yeah but ....can it reproduce the ....st. Anger snare?
Hey, great video!
What is the bass drum you are using (vendor/model)?
Hi Secion,
The bass drum shell is just a demo shell from Roland. When you buy the TD50 you have the option of getting the kit with the KDA22, which is a set of 22" skins for your bass drum shell. So with that kit you would retro-fit both trigger skin to your existing 22" bass drum.
I hope this has helped

can you still use ride and snare 1/4" inputs with digital pads (USB) plugged also? I can't find that out anywhere.
no. For technical reasons, the sound engine needs access to one or the other but you still have tom3 and 4 additional Aux triggers inputs free
but what if they are being used for, say, 3 digital snares? you can't use the ride? just saying. I plan to get crazy with this kit
+Shawn Deneault you can only run 3 digital triggers so you could just assign other sounds to extra ins or any other trigger zone
Can I use my Focus rite scarlett with this kit to record
Absolutely! It has two mono outs for left and right that you can use with the inputs of your interface!
@@bettermusic I have a Scarlett 2i2 gen 2 can i plug in 1 of these holes that says phones will that be also okay to plug it in there

You said the samples you loaded and played was Thomas Hart? Can you please tell me how to find the samples? I don't know who Thomas Hart is or how to find the samples. Thanks from Alabama.
Toontrack Metalheads EZX...I'm sure the Better Music guys can order for you?
Bettina McGahagin I sampled Tomas Haak's kit from the toontrack library for use on the 2box drumit 5 via their Mac/Pc. The difference was I did it over 30 velocities per instrument, the TD50 does it over only two lawyers (from what I believe) I can vouch that they're immense drum samples.
I'd imagine though the TD50 (like the 30) is a fair bit more expressive.
you can use a hybrid combo of samples and internal engine so no machine gunning and all the benefits of Vdrums ie: Positional and interval awareness and vediting and eq on the layers
how loud is the kick when it's not plugged in or turned on
the same as an electric guitar welcome to the future
Hi Josh. The acoustic sound of the kick is similar to Roland's other mesh kick trigger pads. There is a slap as the beater hits the trigger head, but no louder than any other mesh drum pad. Hope that helps - Jol.

Looking for an actual review. It's funny, when you want a movie review you'll find thousands of critics wanting to tell weather it's good or not worth the money. What we have here is an overview. A vague summary about what we are selling
Great demo....amazing facial hair.
Thanks Noof!
my god i want this now, but it's like 8k lol in my dreams
Shut Up 'n Play Your Drums
HEY WOW!! I can own a super overpriced e drum kit...but you can't own a gun! HA!
