Azula’s mental breakdown has to be her most chilling moment in the entire show. And sad fact, her voice actress Grey Delisle wanted to be alone in her recording booth because in order to make azula’s crying be realistic, she had to remember some very painful traumatic memories from her past in order to let out that cry. Azula’s breakdown is even the one scene that grey delisle refuses to watch 😢
Should've said this sooner, but Aang's old outfit is part of the new outfit. He wears the shoes and pants from his school uniform, with the burned air nomad robes rolled over his torso.
The comics after Avatar the Last Airbender TV Show, cover what happens in the next few years, including what happened to Zuko's mom, how to rebuild the world, etc.
Honestly The kioshi warriors learning how to Chi-block from Tai li is a great idea. This way if any benders come to their island looking for trouble they can effectively neutralize them
Ye, ngl I love the Kyoshi Warriors have sadly been bodied by a lot benders and non benders, them learning a new technique may help diversify their fighting style. Adding some new with the old
I still like the growth of Ty Lee who back on the beach said she didn't want to part of a matched set with her 6 sisters, is now in a matching set of the Kioshi Warriors.
5:50 many reactions suggest that option, but I dont think she can bloodbend without a full moon. Its a really advanced technic, so two times the used it, she was at her peak. 22:35 Yeah, you were pretty bloodthirsty, but its not that kind of show. Aang spared Ozai because of personal beliefs and Azula is just a broken child. Also if one of our heroes died it would have been more of a tragic ending than anything, imagine last shot being a funeral. 22:51 She is in a mental institution in the comics, she gets a little better, every now and then. Still evil, just now more content with herself. 27:29 The story of what happened to their mother is also in supplemental comics (The Search) if you are curious, they are pretty interesting, although some vary in quality.
For Aang sparing Ozai specifically, he is the last Airbender left so his entire culture lives through him, violating a core tenet of his belief structure would effectively erase the culture (in his mind) forever. Also lets keep in mind that Aang took the HARDEST path to beating Ozai, having him dead to rights twice during their battle (once with Lightning Redirection and again with the Avatar State). Deciding to gamble on a new technique in order to not bend his core beliefs in this new world really highlights how UNBENDABLE his spirit truly was.
I’m glad you had faith in katara in her fight with Azula LMAO I think of lot of people didn’t think she even had a chance without zukos help! But she’s the water bending GREATEST OF ALL TIME 💪
Azula's VA worked so hard in this episode. She said she tried to remember the feelings when she lost someone to actually give azula that insane feeling in the end. She was actually crying in the sound room. People are usually too harsh on Azula but in reality she is just another kid stuck in war, royalty and rivalry in such a young age. Even tho she act like she doesnt care in the beach episode it was a really good inside of the character. Zuko never needed to do something to recieve love from his mother. But Azula actively tried to be perfect in everything just to get a "good job" from Ozai.
Can’t believe this Avatar era has come to an end. Can’t wait to see you watch Korra. So many people hate on it and while yes certain aspects of it annoyed me I thought it was pretty good overall. Definitely different than ATLA.
This war started when 2 friends, the Avatar and the Fire Lord, became enemies. And it ended when 2 enemies, the Avatar and the Fire Lord, became friends🔥
The Chakras were already opened actually, that area was just a blockage for the accessibility and needed something to get them jumpstarted which is not just the wound but also the life or death situation and I now feel like the past Avatars were all working to help his body & spirit get back to function.
Yes! a lot of people don't realize this but the Lion Turtle is what fixed Aang, meaning **in theory** he could have meditated himself into the A.S. again like he did in S2...
The title Avatar Aang perfectly contrast the title of the first episode The boy in the Iceberg shows that Aang has matured so much and is no longer the boy who ran away from his responsibility but is now ready to fulfill his destiny - while it is somewhat satisfying it is also tragic - yes she is a monster but no one ever gave her a chance to be anything else - some people say Aang should have killed Ozai to I heavily disagree - that would essentially physiologically have prove Ozai right in that the Air Nomads were to weak to live - the message is that Aang can remain intact to his principles but still restore balance to the world - which resonates with me a lot more - if you want to know what happened to Zuko’s mother it is explained in the comics - the word I would use to describe this show and the experience for your reactions to it is also the very last word said in this show Perfect - next time is Korra which I honestly love even more than Avatar
5:53 Even if she wanted to, she can't, because it's not a Full-Moon; Katara's grasp of BB is rudimentary at best, the only reason she beat Hama was through a raw power advantage and even then it was still a very close match...
The legend of Korra is about the next avatar which I really hope you continue with as its still really good people just like to hate on it because its not the original and they had some problems with nickelodeon, but there are a bunch of avatar comics that take place after the show which depicts the story of Zukos mom which is really interesting, as well as some dealing with the rebuilding and uniting the nations they're really good and you should definitely read them some time you can find them online. It shows that the story isn't done yet there's still a lot of work to be done for the nations and you get to see the characters grow up more. Theres also comics after the legend of korra but that's still a while a way for you.
There are comics/manga that goes into detail of what happens after the series aka they go look for the mom n other stuff. U should do a dramatic reading of them. Lol
Regarding Zuko's Mom, that's something they have comics for, specifically "The Search." Interesting read. For Korra, it's NOT the Last Airbender. However, it's still a phenomenal show. Without spoilers, the biggest issue with the show I think is the pacing, where each season is fairly self-contained, rather than the single 3-season overarching story of the Last Airbender. This wasn't the showrunners' faults though. Nickelodeon order 1 season of the show, so they wrote a 1 season show, then they got a 2nd season, and then mid-way through production on season 2, they got greenlit for seasons 3 and 4, so they then just decided to keep the last two seasons as relatively independent. They all build on each other obviously, but it's not one big narrative. They also got their budget cut in Season 4, requiring them to do a clip show episode (it was that or fire a lot of their staff). But again, still a great show. It's definitely different, but the music is still amazing (I actually prefer the music to this series), there are some super fun concepts, and while different, Korra is a great character.
Katara didn't freeze her and azula, the water is just static in place, both azula's and katara's eyes are moving. She did that because if azula shot lightning she'd be hitting herself cause of the water.
That's not how it works, if they were trapped in a regular water-bubble, Azula would still be able to move and attack Katara, who would also still need to be moving to manipulate the water in question. You can both see and hear the water solidify, plus when Katara breathes there's bubbles and steam meaning the area around them had to be heated up. It never ceases to amaze me how often people forget that the 2-fingered point is Azula's basic-fire stance; she doesn't have instant-lightning in the show, she needs to charge it, which is clearly visible to the naked eye...
@calistodorren 1. The water is static in place, it's waterbending, azula is not moving because of waterbending, there's water all around her. 2. Katara releases air from her nose, you can clearly see it, then she starts moving around the water prison while azula stays in place.
@@hiro-xk8km It's not "static in place" it's frozen, if they were stuck in a bubble of regular stagnant water, Azula would still be able to move independent of Katara, the "water" around her is a solid mass (i.e. ice).
