This is some funny shit, he didn't even have the guts to argue.
we keep getting phone calls from our "grandchildren" or "children" needing money to pay for auto repair, bail, or illness. Oddly enough, those relatives have all acquired a very foreign accent.
I get calls from people telling me my Social Security is being withheld because there's a problem with it. Since I worked for SSA, I know they don't call. Neither does the I.R.S., or any other Gvt. Agency. Scammers need to realize I'm old, but I'm not ignorant or stupid.
My mom almost got caught up in this. They said it was my son, needed bail. She eventually got suspicious and asked where she could go to pay in person. When the caller said that wasn't possible she knew. She asked them to call her back, then proceeded to call my son who assured her that he was NOT in jail, but rather sitting in his living room playing games with friend. They had enough info to make her panic though, which is scary in itself. They did call back and she kept them on the phone for awhile while she "scolding" him for being so irresponsible and he was going to make his mother cry and everything an angry grandma would say. Eventually she said she was reporting the scam call and they knew the gig was up and hung up.

This is a conversation someone I know had with a scammer:
So the scammer was asking for money and stuff and this happened
“I’m sorry I don’t have enough for that, I only have 2 dollars”
“Do you have any spare change?”
“Oh like money under my bed?”
“Yes yes, how much money do you have under your bed?”
“6 Million”
He hung up lol

Good for you!!. My cousin received a call telling her, her grandson was in jail in Mexico, and needed 5,000 to get out. My cousin said, Well that's strange, I only have one grandson, and he's only 5 yrs.old. don't think he'd be in Mexico without his parents. This a.m. on Wendy Williams show. The news person had one of her friends pretend to be the scammer. I don't care. She still performed a public service. 7/5/2021.is when Wendy Williams show aired.

I am so glad I don't answer the phone. When it says spam call, I don't answer because they can clone your number and other things too, and not just that I have a social worker trying to steal my information to get my money.
@A I did report her to the police and the FBI because she also hacked my laptop. Unfortunately I work from home and the At&t and BB employees hacked into my laptop as well and now all of my personal information is online for the world to see. I put a freeze on me and SN son Socials, unfortunately the thieves can still steal your information. They are just that good.
They had a pitch on Shark Tank about this except it was telemarketers. They record your voice and it makes it seem like you answered and it messes with them
Phones need an option to reject a call and not let it go to voicemail. When it goes to VM, it's still a connected call, so the scammers know it's a live number.

This is as bad as people spoofing phone numbers. I hate when they do that, I never recognize any of these numbers and always let the answering machine pick up and most times they disconnect right at the beep, but sometimes they don't in time, and I hear nothing on play back. I wish that phone companies could create a database of all the disconnected and no longer in service phone numbers across the country, so that you could have them at the click of a mouse, hit block, and every single number in that database would be blocked from your number thus ending this never-ending insanity.
