It's been five years since we last visited Paul and Annett in their incredible off-the-grid tiny house on the Gold Coast and a lot has changed over the years. It's not often that we get to interview people who have been living in their tiny homes for this long and so it's wonderful to be able to share their inspiring story and see how off-grid tiny house living works in the long-term!
You can see the first tour we filmed of their home here: • Amazing Off-The-Grid T...
And our first revisit here: • Amazing Off-The-Grid T...
Their home is looking wonderful and enjoys some new features and developments since we were last here. From the expanded solar system which now charges an EV, through to the now much-more established fruit trees, there is still a lot to love about this place.
But what's even more special is the life-style and freedom that this home has provided Paul and Annett. With energy from solar (which now also powers their electric vehicle), rainwater collection, gas created by a bio-gas digester, and much of their food coming from the garden, their only real outgoings are modest rent and their food budget. The rest of their income (both of them now work from home) can go towards travel, their hobbies and has also allowed them to do something very cool! You'll have to watch the video to find out about that though!
It was such a pleasure for us to visit this tiny home once again. We hope you enjoy the tour!

It was so lovely to revisit the Living Tiny and Green homestead. Paul and Annett are such a wonderful couple and its always such a pleasure spending time with them. They have done so many wonderful things with their home and have built an enchanting lives for themselves. After seven years in a tiny home, it’s amazing to see what building this home has helped them to accomplish in life! We hope you enjoy this revisit! With Love, Bryce & Rasa
Mental gymnastics (not math) (I think?)😊
Totally awesome 🩷
I always love all your videos, the Tiny House people are really amazing and creative.
Thank you for sharing their incredible stories
Dont worry Bryce, I have to do mental gymnastics as well regarding the poo gas, as much as it works logically.
Wow after watching this channel for over a decade. It's so cool to see old homes.
I love these revisits. It's important for me to see that people stay a long time in their tiny houses, that the houses serve them through life changes and that they aren't regretting the tiny decision, but thriving.
I'm 62 years old and just laughed too hard at "poo gas." 😂 Thanks for a great update tour. This young couple really were ahead of the curve doing completely off grid years ago. Congrats to them for their new property.
😂
I did too, most honest ive seen brice, i love this new found confidence!😅
not bad but i wouldnt want all that clutter in my yard, add 20 years and it wont be easy
@@anthonylewis62 it's how they eat and survive. It's not "clutter." Clutter is junk cars and broken washing machines.
@@LaLadybug2011Exactly. Some of the most healthy seniors are the ones that maintain a garden and stay moving around outdoors.
In some ways this video parallels the development of your career Bryce! I have been watching you since the very beginning, and you just found that perfect idea for yourself and dug in and used all of your DIY skills and basically created an industry! You just kept on growing and developing and introducing us to hundreds, if not thousands, of lovely creative people!! It has been remarkable to watch you grow, I feel like I know you after all these years, and you have been a big reason that the Tiny House Movement has been so well established! Congratulations! All the best to you and all of the lovely people you have helped along the way! Thanks!
A suggestion for a better desk for Annett -- they could hang a keyboard shelf under the kitchen countertop. It would only take an inch or two of depth out of the cabinet, and shouldn't interfere with the dishes that are already stored there, and would slide out easily to be used, or back in to put it away. That could give Annett a more comfortable working situation, slightly lower than the kitchen countertop, and out over her lap, so she wouldn't have to lean forward so much to work.
As someone who has struggled with shoulder pain from poor ergonomics, I highly support this suggestion.
I was thinking the same thing!
It was quite refreshing that they have such a humble attitude about all their accomplishments. What they've accomplished & put into consistent practice is huge plus very inspiring. Bravo 👏!
I think it would be fun to revisit as many of the tiny homes you have had on the channel again. Love you Bryce and Rasa!
Yes!! I agree
Yes please ❣️
Nobody mentioned how "happy" the cat was following the arrival of the new puppy 😂 13:20
Cat doesn't look much happy 😂
😂😂😂😂
Poor Calico 😅😅. She’s gorgeous though 😊
💗💗💗 since i start watching videos on this channel my idea of happy ,perfect , normal life, changed 360° . thank you so much for the priceless content .
I love how you call all of the many people you have met thru the years "your tribe"!
Beautiful home, beautiful lie!! Thanks Bryce and Rasa! xoxo
Bryce, I noticed your book on the shelf in this tiny home. Don't be shy! Tell us about it - even provide a link to your store where we can buy an autographed copy directly from you! And, thanks for another great video!
👍❤️
I think it may have been in the first visit to Paul and Annett that I first heard about the biogas digester! Such a great way to reuse our waste of every description - especially for someone like me who now lives in a cabin with an outhouse and no running water. I really should check these out! This video really demonstrates the benefits of living tiny - that this couple have been able to buy a home and an electric vehicle - yet will continue to live tiny and reap the benefits. So lovely to revisit some of your old friends, Bryce and Rasa, and see what's new! I love their patio design - and the new pooch!
Good luck! Let us know how it goes!
I live in a one bedroom apartment for a year now. I've just gone through it and eliminated some things that I knew I wouldn't use.
Pretty amazing to me how I/we tend to hold onto "stuff".
I have stuff i packed in boxes in 1994, sentimental things of my family mostly. I keep meaning to move it on, but can't bring myself to dispose of it. It will be someone else's problem one day.
👍🏽Off grid living to da max! Methane gas, ☀️ H2O heater, ☀️ electricity fo 🏠 & 🚗! + DYI skills & 💵 saved fo a 🏡. Da best is their ☺️ & ❤ fo one another 🤩
Yeahhh ! Another great video. 🧡✨ I have been following them for more than 8 years now, and as far as I am concerned, Living Big In A Tiny House is THE best channel regarding that subject : informative, very well filmed and enjoyable (no bla bla for nothing, always perfect angles and no sickness due to the movement of the camera). ✨🧡
Yes❣️ The only TH channel I watch. Bryce is superb. As are Raeesha's camera skills. Love from South Africa 🇿🇦 ❤️
THIS is the dream! They have chosen well. Here is Everything necessary for a relaxed, contented, successful life. Very inspiring. Thank you Bryce for this wonderful revisit!! ❤❤
I love this couple. I am surprised by their move. I thought their tiny was their dream. Not a way to access their dream home. I wish you all the best in your new home. I have been following you on instagram for years. You remain an example to me. Hello from France 🤗
I guess when your circumstances change, then you change with them. Perhaps they want to have a family, or have family permanently staying with them or whatever. It's a shame that there isn't the mechanism (or at least they haven't pursued it) for them to continue the same lifestyle, just in a bigger home that might suit their future requirements best. I'm fairly certain that their off-grid principles won't be possible to match in their new property, which appears to exist in the suburbs. They've effectively re-entered the system as it were. That's not a criticism, just an observation.
I think you missed when they said they are staying in their home & renting out the newly purchased home. They spoke of options to move but plan on staying put.
LOVE this story!! Do more revisits please! So great to see what’s happened and how far they’ve come yet how stable the house has remained for them. And loved your sign off - how wonderful it is to have these tribes these days for those of us who live life a bit differently 😊
Yes, you have built your tribe who amazingly thrives!
This couple's journey is very inspiring, with all that they've accomplished. The way they work around sustainability is just mindful living at its best. And this 7-8 years or so of mindful living made them financially capable of even buying their own house & lot. What a great opportunity indeed! Something to look up to.
They indeed deserve a revisit to share their inspiring story. Thanks Bryce and Rasa for another inspiring content.
I have watched these two from their beginning and to see them 7 years later is just amazing and inspiring. I have been researching all of this tiny home stuff for years and these two make me wanna get it done Thank you for sharing so grateful for your journey
I love that the palet deck is gone and replaced with a low maintenance patio. Very efficient.
So beautiful. I also feel like I found my tribe in your videos. I am so grateful for that. Thank you for showing us all these amazing lifes and tiny spaces in which people find their life happiness. I am a pround owner of small tiny house and it brings me so much happiness, freedom and inspiration. Greetings to all of you out there who enjoy pure life❤
So great to see them thriving in the environment they created for themselves. I'm in Upstate NY, and we've been buying root-balled Christmas tree about every other year for 25 years and planting them after the holidays. We have about a 50% success rate (you have to be careful with transitions in and out of the house) but one of our former Christmas trees had to be reduced in height when they brought in new power lines. We've never thrown away a cut tree.
Bryce, you are like a proud parent, and rightfully so! They are an absolute inspiration for sustainable living! I would prefer a deck, tho. Something easy maintenance. Regards from Indiana!
These stories warm my heart and bring a goofy smile to my face … thank you to all who make this possible and bring inspiration to us all ✨
Excess Bio Gas production= Excess Energy. Energy you can use to run a generator to charge your car. Plus a VAWT (vertical access wind turbine )system would help too.
I wish my husband was on board! Man!! I admire people like this….so good for the environment!
There is this amazing stage and sound system that runs off bio gas from all the lovely festival toilets! A huge robot spider that has flames shooting out. The arcadia rig.
As seen at Glastonbury. And they have the amazing dragonfly now.
I love this home. It’s so warm and alive and welcoming. I’m happy for them that they’re doing so well. Congratulations on the new puppy (who’s absolutely adorable 🥰) and the new property. I wish y’all continued success and happiness.
Every Friday we look for a new Tiny House post :) We loved seeing Paul Annett and how their tiny house has opened so many opportunities for them. We always enjoy it when you and Rasa revisit homes to learn how things have worked out. One request ... could you post the links to the earlier visits in the comments? Thanks for making us feel more hopeful about the future.
Bryse & Rasa, thank You very very much❤❤
Least important part of the show but love the sage sofa.

I love this couple, you can tell how invested they are in their journey and eachother ❤
They need to add some local wild flowers and it will be perfect ❤
Thanks Bryce, I love seeing the updates and changes going on with your previous videos.
Thank you, Bryce, for these videos where you revisit tiny homes!
I love the biogas. I would love to see the commercial model that creates hot water.
Thanks
Thanks so much for your support! ❤️
Loved these revisits of this amazing couple. Please do more of these! …but honestly I love all your visits with people and learn lots from them. Thanks for all your hard work!

Wonderful and Great thinking on their part , it's wonderful to see ❤, Lovely tiny home 🏡
Absolutely stunning. Bryce, I’m always so moved by how genuine you are and how much you care about the people and their houses. Thank you for sharing this and your passion for the community ❤
Not the cut to the cat looking pissed off her food was moved😂 and then “poo gas”?!?🙊🤣🤣
How wonderful!! And how many beautiful resources and opportunities have opened up for this lovely couple thanks to their choice to live in a tiny house. The parking spot is perfect, overlooking the sea!
I also want to become part of your "tribe" I hope it happens as soon as possible!!
Thank you Bryce and Rasa
Bryce its the third time your visiting Paul and Annete, there is something about this tiny house, am gonna rewatch all the episodes..so wonderful
The biogas digester is cool.
Love these revisits. What a lifestyle these two have carved out for themselves in a location to die for. They were ahead of the game back then and are reaping the rewards now.... all through 'living tiny'. Very impressive.
Very inspiring, you guys are basically completely off grid and self sufficient in harmony with nature. 🙌
So enjoying and inspiring. Big thanks Brice and your staff ❤
Thanks Bryce and Rasa for another great video!
I'm impressed with the bamboo curtain rod ❤
Its so awesome to see them still living peacefully and in harmony like this ❤ it also makes me realise how long I've been following your chanel guys! Thank you for these revisits that give me even more confidence that this is possible and still a good way to live ❤
Cook it with your poo gas 😅 Such a hilarious line from Bryce! So good to see this house again. So well set up! They had a vision and worked out ways to make it happen! Imagine having no bills, other than rent! Wow! AND the house is beautiful to boot!!! ❤
I love seeing people again! Great up date thank you!
The cat looked very pissed off 😂
Lovely☺️ Thanks to them for giving the pup a loving home🥹🐾🤍
Amazing amazing - so happy for them - and YES Brice you have found your tribe.
Bravo on all your accomplisments!
Good segment. Bryce is wonderful too.
Kudos to this couple.
What a lovely and touching revisit video!
And the "poo gas"! Such a clever system!
Great update , thank you . Might have been nice to see how they heat their water and pressurize their rain water system :) The biogas digester company does offer an instantaneous water heater ( only a 12 month warranty ), they have done a great job of making a simple life , wile providing for all their needs , with comfort and style.
Can’t wait to see their new property and progress 🙏🏻 PLEASE
I d love to take lessons how to do what they are!! Incredible
That’s beautiful what they have accomplished.
I do appreciate the appreciation of the lifestyle.
That was a great episode ❤. Bryce and Rasa you must be appreciated for building this tiny house tribe😊. Love n blessings ❤ always look forward to more amazing content ❤❤❤
Wow just wow... Amazing home and people
What a cool couple and innovative homestead.
I’d love to know where that green couch is from!
The "gas" producer sounds very logical to me. Compost organics in an enclosed environment and methane will be produced. Then use it to cook and heat. Well done.
We like it Bryce, the fact of revisiting "old friends",thank you❤❤❤
I love the revisits - well done to this couple on their success
WOW! This is such an amazing story I’m lost for words ✨😊
Thank you for showing us such an interesting project and home! ☺️
This is awesome! I want this, including buying properties!
Inspiration here for my tiny home goals!! ❤
It's a fantastic achievement, a beautiful place
Great couple! Thanks for the update. ❤
wonderful, having such beautifil tiny home is my dream too ❤
Hi my children, thank you for an other great video with beautiful nature, unbelievable views, amazing drone footage, I really appreciate it, otherwise I would never see all this beautiful hills, this amazing natural wonder! Love you always!!! Mom! ♥♥♥
This is one of my favourites! Thanks for revisiting :)
This is such a beautiful concept of tiny living ❤
Wow! How very inspiring 🎉
Gratitude for doing this segment with Annett and Paul. What are the requirements/prerequisites to get permission from a local council for allowing the renting of land for an off grid tiny home set up? Is it only alternative, environmentally conscious, future focused Councils such as the one in question on the Southern Gold Coast/ Northern NSW that allow for implementing such a set up? This is clearly the future yet many councils seem opposed to finding innovative and doable solutions to the nationwide housing crisis.
When I found this channel almost 10 years ago, I felt like I found my tribe too.
Their house is so pretty !
If anything happens to grid there ready!!!
Fantastic tour! Wow! Just love your home place!! Could imagine living in just a place like this with my husband! You look like your living a dream life!
God bless & direct y'all keeping you safe in all you do! Thank you for sharing your home!
P.S. Poo gas, very cool you can use it for cooking. Our friend in the USA gathers used cooking oil from businesses & converts into bio-diesel for his truck. His truck smells like an old French fry. He said he gets lots of funny looks in the summer time idling at a light😂
Tisk Tisk, I don't think I have ever heard you swareing before!
Great to see how well these folks are doing after 7 years. And so happy to see that their space is still working for them.
BIOGAS is an AMAZING step to off grid living. How much can be stored? It would be terrific to see more on this product!
Love these revisiting episodes 🦋pls keep them coming ☮️🪴💜
Nice couple, nice home.
Great revisit, this couple are inspiring. Iwould love to know where this couple got their lounge with the storage underneath. Thankyou Iris
