I absolutely love that the commentator reminded everyone that rescue centres and organisations are charities, and encouraged people to get involved. These charities do extraordinary work, often on a shoestring budget, and always need extra pairs of hands and extra funds. They deserve all the support - and plaudits - they can get 💖
@mungbean345 Have you seen Stuart Breedon's parody of Olly? It's a hoot! The video is on his Breedon's channel titled, "Olly the amazing Jack Russell & Karen at Crufts 2017".
I love so much seeing these dogs that are not actually competing just have fun, showing even the silliest of doggos can do agility! The pom doing those leaps was genuinly so nice, and the zooming with all the hair pushing back is just so precious.

Here in the U.S., they had a similar competition to this and one of the dogs was a large pitbull. The dog did not run, he just lumbered through each obstacle...and then crashed into every pole he was supposed to jump 😂. He had a look of "I'm too old for this sh×t" and juat took things at his own pace. I respect that.
My Tilly is the exact same breed which is a Parsons Jack Russell and this is her exactly 😂. Life is about fun, meeting people and other animals and going to the vet is a social occasion for her and she enjoys herself immensely. Never chases anything considering that she is supposed to be a hunting dog. Not a nasty bone in her body, she is beautiful like Olly.
We thought the same thing when we saw papillons competing! Ours barked at the wind because it dared to blow a leaf unexpectedly in her path......😅 She was not gonna make it when it comes to doing anything athletic
Mixed breeds have just the same health issues especially since the people producing them don't get the parents' health checked neither do they care for a good personality match like responsible breeders do. In the worst case a cross just gets the health issue of all involved breeds or crosses (say parents are bith crosses and you get a GSD with hip dysplasia, a Doberman with the heart disease, a Dachshund with spine issues and a King Charles Spaniel with CM and now mix that. You could be lucky or end up with a very ill dog) both producers of pure breeds or people randomly crossing whatsoever are bad. Good breeders don't deserve any bad rep as they check for health and characteristics and they barely make any money off of their puppies
Mixed breeds are possibly even more prone to heath issues because they are the progeny of back yard bred dogs with no health testing. My aunt had a wonderful rescue who was the sweetest boy and the whole family adored him, even my very stoic "animals don't belong inside" grandpa was caught sneaking him bacon. Unfortunately when he turned nine he got diabetes, cancer, cataracts, etc. By ten he couldn't even get up anymore, and started whining in pain. He was humanly euthanized due to having no quality of life. So many health issues he had could have been prevented by good breeding. I've seen good ethical breeders with 12-16yr old medium to large sized dogs who are still healthy and active. I would much rather get a puppy from them, than have to watch another dog suffer like my aunts dog did.
@@loyal_dogsevery dog sold by breeders in my area, whether pure or half bred, are minimum $2,500 each, sometimes up to $5k.. They're doing JUST fine financially...
This is actually a section of Crufts, which is a huge purebred dog show. I am glad they do this at the end to put a spotlight on rescue dogs. I'm a big believer in rescue animals. Not active enough for a dog but we have three rescue cats.
@@loyal_dogs responsible breeding does not exist. When you breed dogs, you always, without exception, put the life of mama dog in risk. Pregancy can KILL. Its a chance at death that mama dog is not aware of. You, the human who is supposed to take care of the dog, suppose to protect her, who is under your responsibility, are needlesly putting her at risk for the sake of making puppies. Of course ''professional'' breeders are MUCH better then backyard or even worse, puppymill breaders. But I do find it annoying and unfair to the mama dog that putting her life at risk is called ''responsible'' in some cases just because people pay attention to genetics for the puppies to be. It is not, not for her. Pregancy comes with a lot of discomforts and health risks. Including death. We shouldnt make light of that. And when we decide to take care of a dog we have to do everything we can to keep them happy healthy and safe. Forcing them into pregancy and making them risk their lives is NOT doing everything you can to keep them happy healthy and safe. Dogs who live with people are not wild animals. Their health depends on you and your choices. And what you chose for them tells people something about you. In the case of forced pregancies it shows you either dont value mama dog's life. Or you dont take the burden or risks of pregancy seriously. Its not malicious by default. But it if its not malicious it is certainly ignorant or uncaring towards the mama dog. I do think our main fight should be with illegal breeders and backyard breeding. If those are not tackled/removed BEFORE we tackle ''responsible'' breeding, the breeding that does still happen will be so much worse. But every puppy that is bred will take the place of a rescue in desperate need of a home. There are SO MANY dogs without homes in the world. And a lot of them have no issues (there are 100% easy going relaxed dogs among rescues, both small and big, not all of them are scared or difficult to raise and not all of them are mutts either. There are pure bred dogs among rescues. Dogs that where taken from abusive homes, or dogs that where brought to shelters for whatever reason.). Adopt, dont shop. Likewise, please dont offer humans the option to shop if possible. Dont breed your dogs if you want to contribute to a world without strays or where healthy good dogs are being put down in shelters due to lack of space. Once/IF we ever get to a point that the world is stray dog free, and shelters are mostly empty or well maintained without a need for putting any of them down, and there is more demand for dogs then there are dogs naturaly available, THEN we can start talking about ''responsible'' breeding. If only to avoid the worse alternatives that are puppy mills. Sadly reality is puppy mills are very real, but so are stray and abandoned dogs. Anyone who claims to love dogs needs to show this by doing the following two things. provide homes for dogs who are in desperate need of one. Not contribute to the problem of there being more dogs then people who want to adopt them. Otherwise we would not have full shelters. Bonus for not forcing pregnancy on your girl dog who loves and trusts you to take care of her. When you look in her trusting loving eyes, know your putting her life at risk and if she survives your forcing her to go trough the discomfort and pain of pregnancie and giving birth. And if that does not bother you, you should not have dogs.
Fergus seems to have his own internal ‘wonderful thing about tiggers’ button 😂. I love to see all animals having fun and enjoying themselves. They give so much and expect so little in return ❤❤❤

I never liked the whole pure breed or whose got the best type of dog. Unless its the ugly dog contest. Love the animal as is, and be happy you get to spend time with your bestfriend.
Purebred dog shows aren't a beauty contest. They compare each dog to the written standard, which includes physical traits, temperament, etc. These standards were written to ensure that the dog could properly do what it was bred for, and that they are healthy and physically fit. Purebred show dogs are kept in peak condition, physically and mentally, are fed the best foods, and are extremely bonded with their owners. They often get to travel every weekend, see new people, play with other dogs, etc. To the dogs, it's fun. They run around in a circle, someone comes over and pets them, everyone tells them they're pretty, people clap for them, and the entire time they're getting treats from their owners. Purebred dog shows are for the benefit of the dogs. Ugly dog contests are for human enjoyment.
@@KOOLBadger You can contact a local dog trainer, or buy some of the equipment online. I don't recommend doing it with dogs under 2yrs old though as it can be too much stress on their joints.
