+Naika Fran Congrats Naika on officially becoming a CNA. What testing facility did you test out of, and what skills did you get? Was there anything different about your testing experience that others who are taking their test soon should know about?
+SacMed Training Video Tutorials . I tested on San Jose's facility. My skills, besides hand washing, were Female Perineal care, measure and record blood pressure and positioning patient on fowlers position. All I can say is that if someone follows the instructions in your videos, they will pass the state test for sure. Thanks again.
I had this skill for my state exams today! I PASSED AND MISSED ONLY 6 POINTS OUT OF 231!! Thank you so much. I don’t live in California and some of the things are different in my state but even just watching your motions and you talking to the mannequin really helped me a lot!!
I have learned so much from these videos from Christine and Sac Med Training Video Tutorials!I greatly appreciate all of your help. Now,I'm ready for stateboard.!I don't know where I would be without you all. Thanks alot!!
I got my exam tomorrow and my anxiety is up the scale. Knowing that it’s $110 so failing is not in my calendar. I love your videos really helpful. I’ll keep you guys posted.
Thank you for giving us learning I am OFW here in Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 I am planning to study care giving course because it so hard to work as a house maid I work for almost 20 hours
Hi SaMed...i started watched your videos I'm impressed so far.. since yesterday cause I'm going to take my exams this Thursday ..I'll be looking forward to get a positive answer. thanks for your videos well done.
The use of the folded wash cloth (folded into four parts) as demonstrated in here is, to my own observation, is more clean and practical than folding the wash cloth into a mint. I suppose this is better and more convenient to use if it is accepted by the ARC. I even see in here that these videos are only six months past.
I was taught to use different corners of a folded wash cloth over the mitt as well. That way the test observer knows w/out a doubt that you're using a clean portion of the cloth every time. Also so that I know w/out a doubt. I can get easily confused & forget what's dirty using the mitt. If you're able to use the mitt & keep up w/it then that's cool. It's just easier, for me anyway, to fold it & use different corners.
Hi! I am taking the CNA exam this December. After watching your videos I learned a lot. I am taking mine in Oakland, CA U.S.. Many places do skills differently. Can they fail you if you do the skill the right way with the right intention, purpose, thought but it was not the way they want it to be done?
I thought so too... I would assist patient back on there back... then do clean up and do closing ..... but of course doing the hand sanitizing and putting on new gloves doing clean up ... then close check brakes open curtain raise side rails check alignment call light in reach and wash hands report and record
Hi! Great video! One thing I have a question on. In the beginning, you moved the resident to the side of the bed. After cleaning the rear and returning the resident to supine, I'm sure the resident would still be at the side and thus not aligned at the center. So how would I return the resident to the center of the bed? By going over to the other side and move them in segments?
+Teresa Hahm Good question. Yes you would have to center them if needed, but you would still stay on the side you are working on and pull them towards you in the 3 segments. Never want to push the resident.
Why new water for the next area? It was never contaminated so I don't understand why unless it's because of the temperature but if it were to be done as quickly as displayed I would assume the water got much colder in the meantime? Also on the second portion when you pat dry, wouldn't you have to pat dry between the butt cheeks too? I just know from my toddler I always try to get every little crack dry to prevent yeast infections etc, and honestly personally I wouldn't enjoy feeling moisture left there if that makes sense.
My instructor told me we had to use the Mit technique can I use this technique it seems way more efficient. I'm taking my state board this Monday in sacramento
I found a few things a bit strange too. For one can't understand why the water is to be changed because technically (save for the hand of the resident stuck in there) it is uncontaminated still so why waste water and time in getting a new fill? 🤷🏻♀️
I would just not exposed Mrs Jhones and quickly with gloves dispose everything and then remove gloves 🧤 and performed closure procedure I guess that’s why he leve her like that ( for the gloves purpose)
Quick question I noticed that every time you turn the resident on their side you always ask them to cross their arms and legs? What's the purpose of it?
I am a non medical person trying to help my mil. I've watched many of these videos to try to help. My problem is she is "dead weight" & can't help me turn her or even hold up her good right leg (she broke her left ankle).
I would bend her right leg, cross her right arm over her chest toward her left side. Then, pull her toward you (and on her left side) by placing your grip under her right hip and right shoulder. Do all this while standing on her left side. Hope that helps :)
mee ee and and misses misses jones misses jones misses jones misses jones we got some cleaning goin on. sorry i couldn't help it. that song was just ringing in my ear😊😀
The perineal care is done very excellently but one thing what I didn't see is not cleaning the rectal area by doing one circle clean. Rest was was great. Is it necessary to do that or not, because the video does not show that part?
I wasn't taught that, but I live in the state of Tennessee. It's probably different elsewhere. I'd do whatever you were taught & go by whatever your skills booklet says.
I'm in California, my instructor said you can use the same water for the bottom, being it is the dirtiest area. No need changing the water for perineal care.
Because of your videos I passed my skills test today. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Yes yes

Thanks to u I pass my state exam on Sunday 8/27/2017 my skills were perineal care ( female) , bedmaike, respirator and handwash
Did you have to leave the top sheet in place for bed making? Or did you put on a bath blanket then remove top sheet?
Watched this ladies videos and I passed my CNA exams on 12/3/21 thank you so much

wow, my teacher taught us to clean the private area way different.
How were you taught?
Thank you for all procedures. May God bless you.
You are my favorite one on youtube doing these! You make it seem so easy and make me feel more confident :) do you have a male perineal care?
Thank you so much, because of your videos I passed my skills.
You are so awesome .. Blessings to you and yours my friend!!!

I throughly enjoy your videos!🙌🏻🙌🏻
I watched all this videos thinking I'm having a skill test and NO! I was wrong. It was only a written test.. so happy I don't have to do this 😊
Where did you test?

In California you have to do this skill in 5 minutes!! She did it in 10.😮
Do you put the side rail up while changing the water??
I think wearing gloves while removing the bath blanket and putting on the top sheet would be good for infection control as well. Am I wrong?
That's what I was thinking, but she did verbalize sanitize hands after handling them so 🤷♀️
No, you're not wrong, in California we was taught to wear gloves when removing the bath blanket, take them off when you are raising the bed and rail.

That was the first thing i thought while watching this video... Why would she leave the patient on her side when patient comes first
I totally agree, the patient comes first and it would be uncomfortable lying there in the side position waiting on the CNA to clean up!
I agree I was looking at it as well. Maybe she just made a mistake too.
@@noileenbraham-munroe9445 Yes, I agree or at the time that's what she was trained to do.

I take my Florida CNA exam next week any tips 🤦

Can you use the diamond sheet method to clean the peirneal area instead?

PewPewCat I was wondering the same thing with the water change
When you finish the skill, do you ask if you want the curtain open or closed? or is it left open without asking? tomorrow 24 I have my exam
How did you do?
Very good. Thank you👍🏽
When taking the test, should I verbalize "spreading the butt cheeks" ? Or should the observer notice that my off hand is doing that?
People told me that they use the mitt technique and not the 4 corners. Do you know if you can do both?? Or just only the mitt technique now?
My instructor told me we had to use the Mit technique can I use this technique it seems way more efficient. I'm taking my state board this Monday in sacramento

Wait... If you allow the resident to put their hands in the water to test, it's it technically contaminated?

How was it what skill did you get ?
Taking mines in Sacramento. I have to renew mines, and so I have to re study everything 😅😬
So you clean the basin and your supplies while she’s still on her side?🤔
I was thinking the same thing.
I would just not exposed Mrs Jhones and quickly with gloves dispose everything and then remove gloves 🧤 and performed closure procedure I guess that’s why he leve her like that ( for the gloves purpose)
Very good job!
How’s Mrs.Jones going to hold the side rail no fingers. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Side rails are now considered a restraint. They should always be left down unless it is a doctors order. Beds where I work don't even have them.
6 wash cloths? My instructor is saying 3...?
Thanh you very much
Quick question I noticed that every time you turn the resident on their side you always ask them to cross their arms and legs? What's the purpose of it?
Ryota Akashi safety .. so their arms and legs do not get in the way while rolling them over . they cannot be laying on their arms etc.
What if the patient weighs 230 pounds?
Then you gotta work harder
