In the Luke's Training Dagobah Lego set, the inside of Yoda's hut actually has a lightsaber in it.

Fun Fact: Yoda's lightsaber WAS found. By the Coruscaunt Guard. It, along with the taken lightsabers of multiple other Order 66's killed Jedi, was then incinerated by Mas Ammeda on the second day of the Empire. The kyber crystals inside then blew up the hilts, and the incinerator.

Now a better question, why would Yoda build a new one? He had no need for it and refused to fight in the rebellion. In his older life he decided to put down fighting and give himself fully to the light side of the force, he shouldnt be building a new lightsaber. Its jusr Dave Filoni getting away with changing stuff again.

Thought he gave up the ways of the Jedi while on the planet why would he build a new one if he gave those ways up, mans was hunting with a bow and arrow while on that planet, never used his powers till Luke showed up

900 years old and people don't think he had a spare? 900 years old is old enough to figure out crap happens and having a backup or ten is a good idea. At the very least he was suspicious enough of the Clone Wars to have a "to go" bag ready with parts and a spare. Because the robe he is wearing is in pretty good shape for 20ish years in a swamp.

Building a spare lightsaber isn’t that easy though. Jedi have to connect with the kyber crystal they use to build the lightsaber for it to truly be theirs.
