It's mind-blowing to me how accurate and realistic that looks. I just bought some sculpting clay today (6-26-19) and already having a very hard time attempting to sculpt my face. The face I made looked like a cartoon character on my 1st attempt. Good job with that sculpting tho Mr. Schnitz Pro

@@icicestparis Hello, and I did better on an attempt to sculpt my face as of August of 2019. I still couldn't get the clay form to look exactly like me, but I added some of my hair to it after a haircut. I haven't attempted to sculpt from clay again ever since. It's just too complicated for me.

@@bracebrooks967 Sounds like you had very unrealistic expectations from your yourself as a beginner. Practice and learn the proportions of body parts, their scale and geometry. You will get there. My sculpting is at a completely different level than when I first started. It's a learning process that's fun, and progress made from mistakes is a big confidence booster.👍

@@skateboardingjesus4006 I'd rather pay someone with sculpting experience to make a statue of me, and pay him or her for it, but in order to even consider doing that I'd have to become rich first.

I’m about to dive into clay sculpturing for the first time. I’m particularly interested in faces and busts for some unknown reason. So I’m scouring UA-cam videos to get an idea on how to begin. Thanks for a wonderful video. You’ve kinda inspired me even more! Thanks. Peace be with you 🙏☮️

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm an artist, but I've never tried this. However, for some reason I feel sculpting might be somewhat easier than drawing? Not to this level of course, but I feel like you can reach better accuracy when you can play with your hands to create an object than when you have to simplify it and bring it to a flat surface (I don't know if anyone understands what I'm trying to say, my language is not English)

Hey if someone could answer soon that would be nice. I’m 14 and I LOVE sculpting and making things with clay. Normally I do it at school so they provide all the equipment and everything I need. But I would like to buy my own stand to do clay on st home ! What should I buy? I’ve looked at different stands but non of them seem to be the same shape/structure as the ones at school or in videos on UA-cam.

ROD Boricua dry clay can be heavy, not even a whole bottle of super glue will hold it up, but perhaps if you put it on a sterdy nailed in shelf, and let it rest there rather than hanging it up.

Hello Jane thats sounds very good, you should use clay with 25% chamotte, this is good for building stufe. And I use clay with a little grain size from 0 - 0,2mm but you can use 0,5 mm as well. The most important thing is actually the chamotte. I wish you all the best for you exam! Best Regards Simeon Decker
