Road 96 is a new indie game - released on Steam and switch and reminds me of telltale games and firewatch- This is my Road 96 review #road96 #indiegames #roymccoy
I played through this game once. I kept hearing about this tyrannical leader. I saw little to no evidence of any real tyranny. People were free to travel where they wanted. Say what they wanted to say. It wasn't until I got to the border and escaped in the back of a truck that I laughed for a few minutes. I kept hearing about this scary border. Border security was pretty lax imo. It very much captures that late teenage view of the world. That span from about 18-25 where you're not really an adult yet. Where you think you know enough and have a good view of the world. I sure remember how I was at that age. I haven't picked it back up yet, as games about kids don't really interest me that often, but I'll probably go back to it one of these days.
@@huwguyver4208 Nope. Maybe I'll play a little more then. I didn't see any of that mess on my first playthrough. Maybe it just gets worse as you complete more runs?
@@Drebin2293 ah it sounds like you only escaped once. That's not really a playthrough in this game. The idea of the game is that you keep helping different (procedurally generated) characters escape until election day on September 9th. It's set up in such a way that it's hard/impossible to escape using the same method twice. You haven't really played through the game and gotten the bulk of the story until election day is done. In which case there are a few spoilers for you in my previous comment, which I will now delete for that reason.
@@huwguyver4208 Ah, so it sounds like an adventure/rogue light combination game. I'll put it back on the list. It'll be interesting to see how things change from run to run. Thanks for the heads up!
@@MorgueOfficialMusic some people can't just be happy for you that you enjoyed something that they didn't. Personally I thought the game was amazing and binge-played the whole first playthrough in two days.
This game is great but I think it can be improved a lot with future patches. You are one the road, we can visit some abandoned mall or spooky woods, and it pissed me off that at the end you can affect only Papa Bear survival... I hope they will add some others final or character, becouse this concept is so cool !

@@Drebin2293 No problem. I really liked this game. Hope you enjoy it too!
This is an absolutely beautiful and well crafted game. I loved the video on it and I plan on covering it myself one day.
I can't believe how good this game is. I cried at the end of my first playthrough, no game has ever had that effect on me in 25 years of gaming.
are you on drugs? this game was horrible
@@AdamTopCommenter sucks for you if you couldn't enjoy it 🤷🏼♂️

@@huwguyver4208 my life has been taken over by Project Zomboid but I keep meaning to revisit this game

And you picked the best song at the beginning
8:50 we all did this at some point.
This game was nice a bit to liberal for me st times but the characters and music got me through not a bad game tbh
such a good song at the start, anyone know its title?
It’s amazing, isn’t it? It’s called ‘The Road’ and it’s one of the songs from the game! Love the soundtrack so much!
I hoped to hear road 66 from rolling stones, with just the change of 66 to 96
