    Your video was extremely insightful . Most of the time we approach a lot of things by just looking at the pros , but yeah i see that a few cons definitely help us see more of the reality and to find a balance between them . May i ask how are the internal medicine residency programs in germany ?

      Not very different. Bad or more accurately inadequate Training is the standard. Good is an exception.

    Thanks for the video, really helps a lot! I was wondering when you said that surgical residents don’t operate a lot (once a week), why is that? The attendings don’t let them operate? Is it better if you ask them to let you in the surgeries? I really want to be a surgeon and this would help a lot making a decision where I should do it.

    Hello i wanted ot ask you is it the same for ortho residency? you dont get to put your hands on everything during residency? Does your individual skills and proving yourself help you to get to operate more? or it doesnt matter how good you are you ll end up operating one day per week anyway

    • @doctoruniversity
      @doctoruniversity  2 роки тому +1

      If you’re good you get probably to operate more. What you need to understand ist that the number of surgeons to the number of patients is much smaller than in other countries. Because there are many doctors here. If you’re surgically good and have some good soft skills that will give an advantage over other residents but to a certain point. In the end the sum of the operations done by residents ist much smaller.

      You may choose to stay in a small hospital with a small number of residents. The Problem in this approach is that in small hospitals you don’t get to see complex cases. In my opinion are those cases very important to see in your residency time.
