I agree!
Wings could have easily won 2-3 more Stanley Cups had it not been for the accident. That's how valuable and effective of a player he was to that team.
I always put him instead of Chiasson on nhl 94 haha
As a Wing's fan - for stick-handling magic it was Datsuk - and for open-ice checks that actually made you feel sorry for the opposition - it was Vlad "the impaler" Konstantinov.
It is so tragic that his career ended the way it did. That Finals hit on Hawerchuk was legendary.
Speaking of which that hit also ended Ducky's career too.
💔
Why did it have to happen?
I wanted to see MORE of this legend
At the time Konstantinov was considered just as talented as Lidstrom. How many Stanley Cups would that team have won if Vlady wasn't injured? He was and is a true warrior.
There was no one better at throwing a clean check!
That hit on Hawerchuk at 4:30 though... That's all there is to say.
MontrealMUFC Funny thing is he seemed to do just as much damage when he hit a guy like Lindros, a much larger man.
I was in physical therapy with Vlad
Spectra medical. He was walking by 04 He was one in a million on the ice.
The most feared defenseman of the time
TANK
A true monster of the rink
Big clean hits and noone got mad
One of the absolute warriors of the game. Game in and game out he gave 110%. Never took a night off..Truly missed in Detroit and a shame his career ended early...
Greatests hits
What a beast!
+1 for the adding moments of commentary
