I have 261,000 miles on my 2007 HHR LT2. Still has original starter, alternator, & transmission. What's really amazing is it still has the original factory A/C freon and STILL blows out cold air! Most reliable and trouble free car I've ever owned.
I've been wanting one of these for years, and finally on February 18 2022 I bought one. 2007 2LT and I am loving it! I got over 30 mpg on the 108 mile drive home the day I bought it, it makes me think Chevy underestimated the gas mileage of these cars. The only thing mine doesn't have is the sunroof, chrome wheels, leather, OnStar or XM radio, although it does have the top of the line 260 watt audio system that I heard is prewired for XM, just need the module and antenna. Only 86,000 miles on it and it looks and drives brand new. I can't wait to take my first roadtrip in it!
My wife has a 2011 HHR Z24 LT 2.2 Liter with 122,000 original miles..we've replaced all Motor & Tranny Mounts Front & Rear Bilstein Struts..it handles great with that Z24 factory performance suspension 👍
I love my 2006 2LT, I have a 2000 Camaro and a 2014 Cruze. When those 2 break down (yes cruze had a slight oil leak and ac compressor noise) My little HHR takes over. Heck, even my family has used it when their cars break down. Very Dependable!!!!
I own a 2009 HHR SS panel. Ordered it new with the SS package 2 liter turbo 4 spd automatic. Head turner wherever I go alot of folks say they never knew Chevy offered a full panel SS. Now 12 yrs later did have to replace the original turbo 3 yrs ago cylinder head replacement at 54 hundred miles under factory warranty. Take it to car shows/cruiseins when I can. One of 216 full panel SS models 1 of 9 in Aqua Blue Mettalic! I here many nice comments about the color choice from spectators at car events. Now has 135 thousand miles on the odometer. I'm happy with the H & keep right on driving it!
2006 HHR with 217,000 miles..no complains..minor maintenance over the years..everyone with 2006 over 200,000 miles, still running..newer models with approx 110,000 to 135,000 are maintenance free with mph being over 30 ..I know many people have 2 HHRs in the same household....
My 06 has 185k it’s been a good car got us through some hard times as a only car. Now we still enjoy it and our 2019 4Runner TRD off-road. Have you regularly changed the trans fluid in the HHR?
Drive a 2011, very reliable, practible, good in snow with snow tires, great mileage, great safety for a small car, burns any kind of gas, flexible interior...biggest complaint is poor vision out front due to low windshield and additional airbags in the A pillars. The A pillars often block traffic view, especially in turns.
I’ve got the 2006 HHR 1LT. I love this car but I’ve had a share of problems. Had to take it to get the ignition switch when I got it 3 years ago. I’ve also had to replace the fuel lines due to rusting undisclosed in the purchase. The clear coat is fading fast on the front and rear bumpers. The seats stain with bottled water. The steering wheel is a little bit loose. The power steering went out a couple of times but GM gave me a free replacement. The wheels were scuffed and one rim was bent (more the previous owners than GM). I love my car and for a first car once it’s back from having the fuel line replaced, it’s a decent bit of transportation.
i have a 2011 hhr. the only thing i dont like about it is the placement of the cup holders. they could have been placed in a better spot. other than that im happy with it. fits myself, my wife, and my 3 kids just fine. great for road trips and great on fuel.
i just picked up a 06 2LT with only 78000 miles from an old man who knew my dad for $3800. fully optioned with leather and pioneer system. only thing i dont have is the sunroof, but im not too disappointed, this lil ride is fun as hell to drive. totally digging the remote start. hell my new edge doesnt even have that
No you buy a VW Atlas 2018 with low mileage to 32,000 Mi SEL Premium 4WD 3.6L V6 with 286 HP leather seats heated & cool seats 3 row you can buy an Atlas?
I got a 2008 HHR SS turbo Sport with 123,00 miles when I got it now it has 128,874 and runs great didn’t like it at 1st but now I think I’m gonna fix it up and keep it
I had one of these. It wasn't a bad car. You did get what you paid for and a little bit more. I'm not sure what the guy was talking about when he said quality material. Everything inside (except for the cars with the leather option) was hard plastic inside. But it was great on gas. Handled pretty good. Could handle winter driving. Had impressive safety features. And tons of cargo space. Seeing that they go for about 7k now it makes for a good daily driver or first car.
I've got a 2011 HHR panel version. I wish it was a regular HHR. It seems to be a pretty good vehichle though. I might try to trade it for one of these.
I couldn't believe it at first, either. Originally, I was reading the computer display. When I began actually calculating it, it was confirmed. You don't have to believe it for it to be true. And no, I don't have the wind at my six in every direction I travel.
Bought a used '09 with only 52k miles and you wouldn't believe the amount of crap wrong with it. Every gasket and seal on the whole damn car is leaking. Luckily it wasn't a surprise, I fully expected it to need everything when I bought it.
most MW reviews are TOOOO POSITIVE, that made me like every single car they reviewed, even PT Cruiser(most crappiest car on the market, ever), really confusing,
these cars are so shitty. the interior looks so cheap and like it was slapped to together in the last minute. handling is sub par, and the blind spot is worse that the nissan rogue and not as fun to drive.

My grandmother has a 2011 2LT with 170k, runs great, no major issues. The alternator is starting to go but otherwise it's been very reliable.
These cars were well built!
I have a HHR 2.4 since July and I love it!

We have a 2011 2.2L its been a very reliable car. Now has 130,000 miles on it. Easy to maintain. Wont get rid of it until it dies.
My mom bought a used 2006 hhr at the beginning of 2017 and it was a very nice car with a smooth ride to it, wish we still had it

I LOVE this Chevy! Easily my all time favorite GM car from the 2000s. It's so cute!
Have a 2009 ; got it back from daughter and my parents. Love it again -

That's what I love about mine so much, it's compact yet spacious!
I love mine! It is a a lot faster then 9 seconds atleast for me,and the handling is amazing.

The visibility really is the weak point of the HHR and would probably keep me from buying one. Otherwise a great car though.

Agreed, the placement is kind of weird and makes it a hassle to use the parking brake.

The Successful PT Cruiser
Anyone with the traction control issue needs to look at their engine motor mounts. It fixed my TC issues
This car is 100 percent identical to the one I bought last year for $2500. It's my second one.

remember when 22/27 MPG was good? wow. how times have changed.
I got 29 going to Phoenix
I love my 07 2LT
I really wish this would come back with the SSR and the original tracker convertible

Different standards back then I guess.
My dad has one!! Its got everything on it! Its sweet!!!

Thank you so much.
Two is better than one. I own an LT1 2.2 5-spd 230k miles and an Lt 2.4 5 spd. 78k miles Best cars I ever owned for the money.
Thank you so much
I'm getting 35mpg average with my 2.4. Not sure how some of these people are getting worse mileage.
I couldn't believe it at first, either. Originally, I was reading the computer display. When I began actually calculating it, it was confirmed.
You don't have to believe it for it to be true. And no, I don't have the wind at my six in every direction I travel.
It all depends on how heavy your right foot is
Omg that's lushious! I've been getting 25 lately which I feel is alright
Bought a used '09 with only 52k miles and you wouldn't believe the amount of crap wrong with it. Every gasket and seal on the whole damn car is leaking. Luckily it wasn't a surprise, I fully expected it to need everything when I bought it.
Yeah those are nice as hell my mom just bought one in my dad's got one
I was getting 32 in town with my 2.2 manual
@RaguelAngelofBalance the guy who desing the Pt cruiser ,he worked now for GM and he desing the HHR
Does the HHR come with a timing belt or a timing chain?
Chain
Just like my 2002 S10 2.2 Vortec They both have Chains
@TheOfficialDivo28 Its considered a "Mini Suburban"
Suggestion: Retro Return
Beatiful
Nice car!
Car won't start says it's locked now what do I do
Pray
what transmission is in you're HHR
4-speed automatic in MotorWeek's tester.
I drive one. they're right about the body roll. when you push the car hard into corners it feels like you'll flip over.
It's from September 2005.
I got over 30mpgs for the 4 years ive owned mine.... half and half city highway (2.4l)
most MW reviews are TOOOO POSITIVE, that made me like every single car they reviewed, even PT Cruiser(most crappiest car on the market, ever), really confusing,
Because they aren't biased against certain automakers like most outlete that call themselves car publications. Pure car enthusiasts here.
@TheOfficialDivo28 it's a wagon
good build quality, HA! I got one as a rental car and the check engine light came on. please note it was a properly maintained RENTAL CAR.
#1 problem is you prob didnt screw the gas cap on strong enough.
IT WAS A RENTAL CAR.
It's a cruising car
its either this or a ford fusion
auto
have an SS with the auto now...get 26-27mpg's....when I try
Buddy's mom owned one of these, her's was a piece of garbage, broke down a lot.
Nat bad is all KOOOOOOL FOR A COVOLT .HHR OR HHR .CECHE VEY ...I WANT A V 10 HHR .
Awful
these cars are so shitty. the interior looks so cheap and like it was slapped to together in the last minute. handling is sub par, and the blind spot is worse that the nissan rogue and not as fun to drive.
The interior isn't any worse than other compacts of the HHR's time, Nissan Sentra and Toyota Corolla included.
@wweuniversewwe Go with the ford fusion much nicer car and seems like its better quality.
this car is shit!! the interior is hideous!
MGD I think the interior looks great in black
