Mothership has still got to be my favorite album by them, but I love Artificial Selection and Afterburner as well. I'm not too crazy about anything before Tillian, and that's not entirely dependent on Tillian. The rest of the members just really found a nice groove and started to work more as a single entity, and Tillian is just a great addition to the group lyrically and vocally.
Mothership is their (and a full on musical) MASTERPIECE! There isn’t a single song in there that I just skip over if I’m cruising. Every song brings something so powerful and unique to the table that they all should have a star next to them on Apple Music. It’s the one album where all of the songs are consistently repeatable songs. Sure I have a few I favor but they all are repeat worthy. All of their albums are amazing but I definitely think this album stands out the most since their other albums IMO seem to only have a couple really great songs and the rest good songs but not repeaters. And I’m kinda sad they didn’t include a song from it on Evaporate. All in all it’s the consistency of this album that makes it the best.
I have been routinely checking to see if an Artificial Selection medley will be posted. I absolutely love this one and all your full Mothership covers so please, please consider covering songs from Artificial Selection.
Julia Ludwig I’m planning on doing a medley for the album at the very least, but I’ve been out of my state since the album came out so I haven’t gotten the chance to work on it. I really appreciate your excitement and I hope to bring it to you soon!
It just makes me so happy to know how unbelievably talented the dgd fanbase is. If this were a Fall Out Boy fan video it would be two chords followed by 5 whole minutes of screaming/crying "ironically".
This isn't even accurate. It's annoying that bands with bigger fanbases are considered fair game for any and all shit-slinging. Anyway, it's fair to say that music with a lower barrier to entry (cough, The Ramones), will have less talented people trying to cover them, since they are actually somewhat able to do so.
