David's mug is absolutely priceless
Very thought-provioking. Two performers who fully appreciate what the other is doing: surprisingly rare…
I really enjoyed David's article about Norm MacDonald, which he reposted when Norm died. A cracking fellow
I'm meeting such fascinating people through you, Rob -- thank you!
"On the shores of the Hudson looking at the Brooklyn bridge" - that's quite an accomplishment. Hard to imagine how it's even remotely possible.
Mirrors! Big ones
This was my favourite of these interviews. I don't know if it was because there's a deeper level of friendship or appreciation of each others work but it was great and covered a hell of a lot in 15 minutes!
This is so good, so authentic, so engaging and so enjoyable.
12:22 That was gold! The absence of comment made it even funnier.
Okay two things:
1. The mug
2. The trophy on the mantel. Is it a
Richard Osman’s House of Games
Trophy?
Well spotted. Love it
The “sliver of ice” comment was Graham Greene, not Evelyn Waugh.
Enjoyable as always. Very relaxed conversation between two familiar faces.
David’s coffee mug needs addressing. I’m surprised Rob missed it 😂😂
What are the handles on David's chair? 😂
Good question. I thought it might be one of those folding canvas chairs you take to a lawn concert or camping, but then he swiveled around in it at the end and there went that theory. :)
Was just gonna ask same thing! Is it an office chair/exercise seat?
Worth watching the video just for David's mug 😂😂
Its a shame David's shows aren't on DVD. Wanted to see My Family Not the Sitcom.
I'm amazed at least one performance wasn't filmed. I'd love to see it.
“My Family - Not the sitcom” - best show I’ve seen. Come back to Australia again soon David.
is it available to view anywhere??? love to see it.
History today. Him and Rob on that were one of comedies greatest creations
4:00 Totally irrelevant observation, but Rob's trestle table looks like the sit-down/stand-up IKEA desk in front of me where I'm sitting down watching this. There are cables and wires everywhere, unlike the pictures in an IKEA catalogue or their in-store displays where electrical apparatus never seems to need to be connected to anything, not even a power outlet.
Perfect Zoom Mug. Taking note of that.
Excellent, thanks 👍👍
Why is Baddiel’s chair made of ski poles?
In all honesty, David Baddiel is an intellectual and shouldn’t think otherwise which, by the by, goes hand in hand with his very Woody Allenesque (mainly in Deconstructing Harry) appearance. Another terrific interview this! Minor Oedipal element there on the mother which could have been from a 70s Allen film but I guess as Jews we share all similar weird experiences.
I can still quote lines from the Mary Whitehouse Experience, which I first listened to on the radio, back in olden times. “You know men… who put fruit up each other’s bottoms?” “Yes…” “Oh, you do!”
LL cool J real name is Lionel Lionel
hello rob im so sorry i have to ask on here, but would you have a word with steve? i wanting to watch partridge on netflix i have all his dvds but would prefer to watch it on there. i didn’t think getting back into the bbc gravy train would go to his head like this would you be able to speak to coogan? i have felt a great connection to him as a lad fro
greater manchester who moved to norwich when i left school. i can see anglia square where he did his movie premier from the bottom of my road and it mean the world to me and all my mates if we could stream him
again.
i’m a small man in a box.
thanks,
jacob
Social media was humankind's way of discovering that everyone in their culture doesn't actually think like them and have similar opinions.
We discover that most peoples opinions vary wildly from our own... Thankfully... :)
Social media seems to be mob thinking in X5 time
@@niclasjohansson5992 I think people enjoy the adrenaline of conflict, but not so much the bit where they get hit in the face for going too far... :)
Getting into an online yelling match, lets off some steam in a safe way..
Plus it's a chance to indulge in shouting our favorite tribal slogans at one another, while pretending we are 'educating' the ignorant who disagree with us....
Wonderful interview as always Rob.I was slightly taken aback by glimpses of slim fit jeans and flashbacks of Robin Hood, but overall lovely stuff.
Ask him why Baddiel & Newman isn’t on DVD!
My favourite interview so far. David is witty rather than trying to be funny.
What is it with pictures on the floor.
What lowlife would come on here to downvote this conversation? What is it they're looking for? Damn them.
My mother and my older brother both are psychopaths (the latter even confirmed, but not in the relevant way), of a strongly narcissistic bent, and since I had to move back in, they have been destroying and eroding me for years already. It's like living with the worst, malicious scumbag trolls of the internet (not the badly pretend-"funny" ones, the one's which are that at their most serious) in the same house, from the own family. I think my mother's sickness has even driven my father into early dementia and accelerated his demise, though the latter is hard to prove (while the overall picture seems pretty clear, I think).
Not a joke, but also nothing I can simply change (now), so I have to sort of just "shrug" about it temporarily and mention it as a weird comment, because the thumbnail reminded me of it.
I’ve seen a lot of what he’s said on Twitter over about 4-5 years and he changed my opinion of him. A lot of it was toxic.
So we are not going to mention the mugs slogan then?
Excellent interview, Rob mentions about his interview with Neil Diamond .. here is the clip he's referring to.. brilliant off the cuff interaction: ua-cam.com/video/TXzgXDM4PCM/v-deo.html
audio levels too low
What is the betting that David wasn't even aware of the mug...?
Not a huge fan of the way David talks about various issues, but interesting as ever - Good podcast.
How things change....He fell out with Rob Newman many years ago and wouldn't talk about their act when he was doing his thing with Frank Skinner....Now no mention of Frank....Common denominator?
I like David Baddiel but he's far from an intellectual, and if he was smarter he would realise that. But that's the curse now isn't it. Intelligent men are full of doubts, yet idiots...
Baddiel is not and never has been funny.
smug af
I thought that David Baddiel was really funny. Oh ahahahaha! (Sarcastic Ray):

I find Baddiel to be a bitter bell end, but each to their own, Uncle Bryn!
Is he still doing black face?
Nope
Like Uncle Al ?
Sigh... for which David has repeatedly apologised
Wonder if David's evolving style features any blackface
Like Jolson ?
It's in the Levi jeans.....
@@piplee1439 I dont think so, I would hope not, Im a big Nottingham forest fan and we had a player called Jason Lee, Badiel spent his time blacking up and sticking a pineapple on his head, not very cool at all, Jason Lee wasnt very happy, didnt stop him though. :(
@@fargodavilleitnotd6729 why did he do it ?
Party ?
Fetish ?
Mr. Baddiel is of a charmed clique and won't have to apologize.
Like Jolson, his behaviour will be attributed to the dumb mass and not the priest class.
