We've been considering switching from FCP for a year, it's insane that in 2024 you need a paid plugin to do something basic like 3D tracking properly. Apples built-in one is dogcheeks.
Getting a good 3d track is all about the footage you have to work with. It's nice that there'll be an option to use in FCP. I'll still keep using Blender for that since I already know how to do it in a way that gives me consistent and predictable results. Plus it's free.
Nice! Fortunately I have this plugin already, but does anyone else seem to have issues with motionVFX plugins causing the export process to crash so frequently? So frustrating when I get a decent edit done with their plugins then try to export and it keeps crashing.

Do you have to leave the other clips on the timeline that you had to the left of the effect? You picked up the character asset from that clip for the dropzone. or was that just to show it for purposes of the video?
Hey there. I'm having an issue with the built in FCPX motion tracking... When in square or vertical mode, the tracker tracks correctly but when it gets applied to an object, the title/video/etc doesn't track correctly but swings wildly about. As if it were 200%-300% tracker movement! The tracker move with the video-object correctly, Only when it gets applied does the movement get overly exaggerated. Even in a clean new event, new project, new install, reset settings on startup. M1 Max. I know this isn't related to your video, so i'm not expecting a response, but This does seem like a legitimate bug.... and it makes trackers mostly useless in square or vertical mode.

To be fair the 2D tracker just got updated and it's surprisingly good now.
You gonna pay either way and it sucks! No one has a solid one time fee tracker outside of keyper,
Blender and davinci resolve are both free and better at tracking than the FCP/motion built in tracker

Great video once again! that mtracker plug just doesn't always work perfectly. I can't get it to stick to objects at all.

Just for purposes of the video; he could’ve even left the clip just in his assets and selected it from there
Great idea but when I followed your directions the video in the dropzone was only a still not a video. What am I missing?
