Definitely is because you can have one person at home base and two other out in the field scouting the area. Then if one of the two with walkie talkies sees the opposing team advance reword home base they can tell the home base operator to send more troops! 😁👍
@Becky Figmonte I believe the other Nerf walkie talkies are programmed to only work together when sold together. However, I can test this out for you in a video at some point.
they all must be tuned to the same frequency to work so probably yes or no depending on how they tuned these at the factory. I don't know if there would be discrepencies. Normally people will disregard radio like this a cheap crappy toy which it is a toy after all but I would like to see someone mod squelch into these to make them a more useful tool after a toy like this gets grown out and replaced with more grown up frs or gmrs walkies. That is probably some pennies worth piece of circuit they could of added at the factory.
Is it a FRS frequency? If so you could use Walmart style radios . Like the midland cobra etc. if those radios are indeed FRS frequencies then why the white noise is because those nerf radios don’t have a squelch setting . Squelch is what reduces the noise. It would be neat to do some modifications to see what ranges you could get with them .
definitely fixed freq units. most likely in the 49mhz license free low power band. It would be neat to see someone do a squelch mod on these though. Fun trick to get more range on these keep the antenna vertical and always hold your walkie vertical and the signals will propagate better
PS also probably each set that you buy are only set for one frequency/ channel. Meaning set 1 is set 462.400 then somebody else buys a set there frequency is 462.625. I don’t know my self I’m just giving ideas

Yes, however you can adjust the volume of that. I believe I had the volume turned up to max or close close to max.
