Today at 5pm (CET) Emma announced her very own concert for October 2025 at the Royal Concert Hall in Amsterdam. At 7pm Emma appeared on the 'Carrie on Friday' show on Dutch TV to further announce the news. After she was interviewed she sang John Lennon's 'Imagine', by the time she finished singing the concert was fully sold out! Here is Emma from this evening singing 'Imagine'; with TV quality audio / video - its magnificent. Plus, along with other first class musicians, her brother Enzo accompanied her on violin; how cool is that. ua-cam.com/video/xpAIqyDybhk/v-deo.html
It warms my heart to see Emma performing like this. At age 16 I think Disney is a perfect fit for her. She was clearly enjoying herself while performing this medley, and the audience really seemed to appreciate her, bursting into applause a couple of times in the middle of the performance. She is a Disney Princess in every sense. Brava Emma! Well done! ♥🌹
Disney is American, so let's call her a Fairy Princess. And she doesn't speak French but sings Voila in a close to perfect French. She sings in German as well. A 15 year old who sings in 4 languages. She is far more than just Disney, she is Emma, far above the regular "star".
Hehehe, I'm going to really surprise you now, with where she lives in Southern Netherlands, about 10 miles east of Maastricht, a little town called Kerkrade, her first language is Dutch, with a strong sprinkling of local Limburg dialect in there, which causes Google translate all sorts of problems on occasions, and due to Kerkrade being literally on the border with Germany, her second language is German, and then that puts English in to the mix at Number 3, and she's more than fluent, she has absolute mastery of the subtle things like using pauses for emphasis, or putting extra emphasis on specific syllables of some words, and somehow, she's managed to speak in English without a Dutch accent underlying it.
@stevecgarry You caught me Steve 🤗. I knew she speaks German, but I ‘assumed’ that English was her second language since many of her songs are in English, and the Netherlands teaches English to most school kids. I stand corrected! 😉
@@stevecgarry She does'n speak french, but she is a perfectionist. So her version of Voila is as good as flawless in all ways. So she put in the effort. She was 15 and sung in 4 languages. And I love the Limburg's Dutch, both sides of the border.
Your reaction to Emma is so genuine, and so meaningful, this performance is another defining performance in Emma's rise to stardom, this was so much higher than her singing, albeit that she gave a performance that was sublime, it went so much higher, her presence on that stage was just so totally in control throughout the time she was there, there was a positivity about her movements, her manner, her demeanour, everything about that performance tells me that where she is now is only the start of something so much better, so much bigger. Her 12 months with Andre has laid some incredible professional foundations, on a base that was ready, it started exactly as she sang it in her first single 12 months earlier, Let me be a butterfly, as she walked out to sing the new version of Voila for the first time, mentally, she soared to a new height as she came out of the cocoon and flew upwards as the new creation, the butterfly of her dream, she was physically standing on his stage, but mentally, as she does so often, she soared above the stage, above the orchestra, above the huge audience, and 12 months ago, the young girl became the young woman who has thrilled millions of hearts over this incredible journey of this last 12 months, as she has also watched, listened and learned from the cream of the cream, there could not have been a better place for her to find out how to become so much more than just a singer, so much more than a performer. I'm a very similar age to Andre, so not normally given to getting excited about young singers, but the first time I heard Emma, 12 months ago when we saw her performance of Voila at our local cinema, I didn't just hear it, I FELT it, and she went very deep into parts of me that I didn't even realise was there any more, and it started me on a journey of discovery that I have hugely enjoyed as I have discovered so much more about a young lady who has had an incredibly challenging and difficult life experience, which resulted in her appearance on Andre Rieu's stage last summer, and has then gone from there, as Andre has given her the massive opportunity to be a star of his 2024 world tour, and it's been a huge success, Voila has gone viral on social media, with in excess of 70 Million views of the video, and massive numbers of streaming downloads on other sites, and her latest song with Andre, 'Dancing on the Stars' has also gone viral, with almost 8 million views in less than 2 months. I don't have a word to define where she's managed to soar to, it's so much more than becoming a world renowned singer, more than a performer, but I do know that whatever word we use to describe her, she has no equal, and she's still only 16, the way she did every part of this performance told me that she is ready for anything. Personally, I hope she will still be with Andre for 2025, to give her foundation time to find ways to free her from the restrictions of her illness, to find a way to improve her treatment, or even better, find a cure that will set her free to soar so much higher, being tied to the feeding pumps for 22 hours a day is a limitation that Emma is desperate to be freed from, and it's very clear that if she is freed, she will be capable of delivering incredible results that will be world beating, regardless of what she's doing, but in the meantime, while it may not be what her heart yearns for, it will be the place where she can refine and improve on all she does, and in doing that, she will become even better than the incredible level she's reached now, and become known to a much larger audience that she has already reached, because of the huge numbers that are already aware of Andre Rieu and his orchestra. This performance, alongside her performance of Dancing on the Stars on Andre's Maastricht stage a few weeks earlier ua-cam.com/video/Ll1uR_HUOP8/v-deo.html marked a high point in her progress as a singer and performer, she's found the ability to soar to new high notes, to be able to sing them in powerful belter mode, and to then also sustain them for incredible time, despite her still tiny frame, there is a power in there that's beyond normal, I don't know if it's her determination, or if it's just huge amounts of time refining and training every fibre of her body to do what she loves so much, whatever it is she's done, it's made her into an incredible singer who can deliver amazing performances, and at the same time look incredibly glamourous, and do it supposedly effortlessly, though I suspect that the reality is different, while she doesn't say anything about her stamina openly, I will venture the thought that a powerful performance like Dancing on the stars or the Disney performance takes a huge toll on her reserves, and probably means that by the time she comes off stage, the theoretical 2 hours she can be off the feeding pumps has probably been significantly reduced by the energy she's used during the time on stage, and that will be a factor going forward, and a limitation that Emma will fight tooth and nail to overcome, but for now, I just have to hope that things will happen from the work being done by her foundation, and ways will be found soon to help reduce her dependence on the pumps, but without affecting her ability to perform to the highest levels that she has shown she can achieve. I'm not linking other songs with this comment, if people are interested, and I hope they will be, a search of UA-cam will find many songs she's sung, and if you're anything like me, you will be thrilled at the range and complexity of the songs Emma has put out there over time. What I will do is ask very clearly, if you want to see more from Emma, to see her soar even higher, and deliver even more stunning work, not just singing, but maybe moving into other areas, like musicals, or film, the way for that to happen is very much dependent on her foundation, or others like them, finding answers to the causes of her illness, and finding better ways to treat, or ideally cure this awful illness. I know from recent social media posts, she still finds the unrelenting daily limitations of tube feeding incredibly hard to cope with at times, despite that she's loving the singing with Andre, which she regards as her therapy. She recently posted some heart breaking photos and comments from her family holiday in Portugal, having to use her wheelchair after a time swimming, even then, at a time when the rest of the family were relaxing and enjoying a break away from their normal lives, Emma had no relief, no escape from the mental and physical pain of having to live with the numbing discipline of the 22 hours every day with the pumps attached to her, her ongoing lack of stamina that hugely limits and impacts on her life and desire to be free, and she rarely talks about the physical pain that so often is a side effect of the failure of her stomach to properly process the contents, or the indescribable pain of the procedure to replace her feeding tubes, which she endures every 5 months, without anaesthetic, to avoid any risk of damage to her voice. Her most recent change of stoma and feeding tubes (Her Mickey button) happened only 3 days before the first Vrijthof concert In Maastricht in July, and it went wrong, and took well over an hour compared to the normal 20 to 30 minutes, a video of the rehearsals the next day made it very evident that she was still suffering, she had to wear a winter coat to keep warm, and this procedure has to happen every 5 months. Emma's foundation can be found at gastrostars.nl Please, if at all possible, join me in making a (regular) contribution to her foundation, to enable them to help patients like Emma, and research this awful disease that has affected her from birth, and required her to be tied to the pumps and feeding tubes since she was 9 MONTHS old, for 22 hours a day, and carry around the equivalent of a boat anchor in a backpack or similar for that time every day. Please also be very careful if you post to Emma, or respond to her online, her foundation is the ONLY place that Emma is involved with that is seeking donations, if you get a message with Emma's name on it that is looking for money for a special operation, or similar, or to give exclusive access to her on payment of a special fee, do NOT pay anything to that person, it is NOT Emma, there are unfortunately huge numbers of fake Emma Kok accounts created to specifically try and defraud people who want to support Emma, those accounts need to be blocked, and reported to the service provider. Emma's foundation has at the core a surgeon who also suffers from gastroparesis, so she has huge experience of both treating and living with gastroparesis, and in recent time, her condition has worsened, so she can no longer work in the hospital as a surgeon, and she is now dedicated to Emma's foundation, working on finding ways to treat or cure her. I would like to hope that soon, we will hear that support from people who have seen and heard Emma on UA-cam or Andre's stage will have been the catalyst to providing the support and funding that results in a change of life circumstances for Emma, freeing her to become the incredible star that we are now seeing in every performance she delivers.
Steve , I enjoy your lengthy comments and agree with everything. I saw this interview the other day and was disappointed to think Andre and Emma will part ways??? ua-cam.com/video/JHEQYzjXPxs/v-deo.htmlsi=_ePxGWO6S8D2DaQZ At the end of this interview, you will see what I mean. You have to turn on captions and auto translation unless you know Dutch.
She has 60 million views and performed for million spectators. How much bigger can she be? The whole world loves her. And be a star in Andre's shows is the best place she can be.
Love your reactions. Emma is so near and dear to my heart and soul. I watch for anything new. In October she has two performances. One with Fred and Friend TV show and another one I know little about on the 4th. Hope to be able to link them for you. Thanks again.❤️🤗
I am fortunate enough to be travelling from the UK to The Netherlands for the performance you mention this coming Friday 4th October. It is the Fanfare St. Caecilia Schinnen's 150 year Gala Concert at the Hanenhof Conference Centre in Geleen, only 15 miles from where Emma lives. It may be of interest that Glenn Falize (Percussion, Xylophone in Andre Rieu's orchestra) will be conducting the musicians supporting this show. I wanted to take the chance to see Emma sing in a relatively small venue - here it will be maximum around 1500, compared to ~15000 with Andre Rieu performances.
Emma definitely belongs on stage. Andre Rieu in an interview affectionately called her a stage beast and it was telling how Andre emphasised this when he said it, it wasn't a throwaway comment, it was an absolute assertion. Emma will be singing the Disney In Concert live shows in January 2025 at the 17000 capacity Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam.
Emma herself also said that she loves to sing and be on the stage. There, she said, she is free, free of the pumps and tubes she carries around all day.
Thanks for this comment, this is definitely Emma's style of music if you watch this performance (ua-cam.com/video/itxs-aNyRJY/v-deo.htmlsi=lNdIMtIiL1yVvr7L ) . Beautifully sung by the princess Emma.
She now has the Disney stamp of approval. Her career will sky rocket.
