Yes, Emma is a vocal powerhouse and able to sing more than one genre. I love the fact Emma is always "Emma": when she takes a cover on or musical songs like these, you will always hear it is Emma. By the way: André Rieu has announced last week (now it is 13 October 2024) that Emma will be part of his Tour 2025. So for Emma the show goes on and on. And no doubt she is learning very much, being under the wings of so many experienced musicians for so long. André Rieu has told in an interview, about a year ago, that he has pledged to help Emma to live her dream as much as he can. And that was no joke, he really is doing it. Emma's mother is always backstage to help Emma before and after her performances, members of the orchestra are helping her when she runs into problems with her on-line schoolwork (being just 16 she has to follow school... even when she is on tour with André Rieu). So there is a whole circle of humans around her who are making this possible. I think that is as special as Emma's voice is.
She has grown as a singer and performer. But they have traveled the world and she has sung for a million people, collecting standing ovations. Then you grow. But she still is Emma the Fairy Queen and a Lovable, Grand Little Lady.
Today at 5pm (CET) Emma announced her very own concert for October 2025 at the Royal Concert Hall in Amsterdam. At 7pm Emma appeared on the 'Carrie on Friday' show on Dutch TV to further announce the news. After she was interviewed she sang John Lennon's 'Imagine', by the time she finished singing the concert was fully sold out! Here is Emma from this evening singing 'Imagine'; with TV quality audio / video - its magnificent. Plus, along with other first class musicians, her brother Enzo accompanied her on violin; how cool is that. ua-cam.com/video/xpAIqyDybhk/v-deo.html
That was exactly the reaction I was expecting from you, Emma's gone deep into your heart, and that was a performance to beat all other performances, and it's the result of her spending the last year touring with Andre, thrilling every audience that she sings for, getting standing ovations with every performance, but it's so much better than that, while she's been performing, she's also been watching, listening and learning, and when you learn from the cream of the cream, that has an effect, and we've just seen the result of all that experience, Emma is now able to deliver performances that put so many other supposed singers into the shade, and she does it despite only being free to perform for 2 hours a day maximum, she can be off the pumps for that length of time, but from what we've been seeing over the last year, depending on the songs she's singing, she doesn't have the stamina to deliver concert length shows. For me, her role with Andre, where she sings one or two songs as part of a much larger show is the best place for her at the moment, and we just have to hope that her foundation can find a treatment or even better a cure that will free her from the feeding pump regime, she very rarely says anything about the pressures it puts her under, but while on holiday recently in Portugal, she did let slip that she was struggling, she'd been swimming, and as a result, she ended up having to use her wheelchair for a while, she had effectively run out of reserves, it's not evident when she's on stage dressed for a performance, but when you see her at things like rehearsals, it becomes very much more evident that even now, she's still tiny, 1 Mtr 50, and a little over 50 Kgs, so there's very little in the way of reserves in that frame, it amazes me that in recent months, she's found the strength and power to deliver incredible belter top notes, and at the same time, sustain them for as long as 17 seconds, and she makes it look so effortless, when the reality is that a performance like that takes a huge amount out of her, but she loves doing it, she's said it on a number of interviews, singing is her therapy, and it gives her a massive lift mentally, you can see it in the way she finished that performance, she didn't just lower that raised hand, she brought it down with real power, real emphasis, effectively, in the same way as she leads when singing with Andre, she is the conductor, and is giving the lead to everyone else, and it's an indication of her absolute class as a performer, a few weeks ago, when Dancing on the Stars came out, she massively moved the bar that defines perfection so much higher, and then, having moved the bar, she gave us a gold medal performance that cleared that bar with space to spare. In 15 years of watching Andre Rieu, I've never known him let a performer speak in the way Emma did before she sang a note, her introduction was so clear, so positive, so powerful, not just in terms of what she said, but also in the way she said it, you'd never think that English is her third language, she has absolutely mastered so much of things like pauses for effect, emphasis on some words, and at the end, that subtle hesitation before she says so powerfully, 'I want to be the girl that's,,,,,Dancing on the Stars', and with that, she had that entire audience of 12,500 in the palm of her hand, and then, not long into the song, she smiles as she's singing, as much as to say, 'Yeah, I know exactly what's coming, and you don't', and then BANG, several times through the song, she delivers what can best be described as a vocal explosion, which blows everyone away, and it devastates everything within earshot, her voice has clearly improved and matured to the point where she can do this so well, and so beautifully, the challenge now will be for Andre and Emma to find songs that will allow her to continue to expand and develop her skills, she's not yet close to peaking, there's more and better to come, and it's going to be so good watching it happen, and seeing her in action where ever she performs, in recent weeks with Dancing, and again with the Disney performance, she finished them out with a huge top note, belted with massive power, and then sustained for up to 17 seconds, that's some achievement for her to do, and she does it so well. Another Disney song, this time recorded at home in her own small studio, she did a cover of a film song, from The little Mermaid, the song 'Part of your world', where Ariel is expressing a desperate desire to be free, to escape from the water and walk on land, a complete change of life circumstances, and of course, that resonated with Emma, because of her own life situation, she'd like nothing better than to be free of the pumps and the weakness that she suffers as a result of the issues caused by gastroparesis, to be free to perform without limitations. ua-cam.com/video/itxs-aNyRJY/v-deo.html Very different and again, rare with Andre, last Christmas, Emma did a stunning a cappela start to an old song, 'White Christmas', in a concert that was large, you could have heard a pin drop as Emma captivated the place with her introduction, before Andre introduced the orchestra, and then added in the soprano singers, and the Platin Tenors, building the whole thing into a classic Andre finish, with Emma absolutely prominent in it, The 'official version' is short, because Andre doesn't want to compromise his cinema show that's due out in December, there are audience captures that are longer, but they don't have the quality, I'll put both links in so that you can choose, it was another masterful performance by Emma, she clearly has ice in her veins when she walks on to that stage, no fear, no nerves, she is just READY to deliver whatever has been agreed, and hopefully, she will be continuing to do that in 2025. Audience capture ua-cam.com/video/FDrLhS-1QK4/v-deo.html Official version ua-cam.com/video/xCBOVw7PErU/v-deo.html There is so much more, and for your readers, a search for Emma Kok on UA-cam will find more. My closing comments are important, the only thing that can stop Emma now is her health, and that's why I keep repeating my appeal to everyone listening or reading, if at all possible, please make a (regular) donation to Emma's foundation, who are working to find better treatments, or ideally, a cure for the illness that at the moment has no cure, and also can have devastating implications for sufferers, many of whom have taken their own lives as a result of the intense pressure and stress that the discipline of living with gastroparesis imposes on them. I know from recent social media posts, she still finds the unrelenting daily limitations of tube feeding incredibly hard to cope with at times, despite that she's loving the singing with Andre, which she regards as her therapy. She posted some heart breaking photos and comments from her recent holiday in Portugal, having to use her wheelchair after a time swimming, even then, at a time when the family were relaxing and enjoying a break away from their normal lives, Emma had no relief, no escape from the mental and physical pain of having to live with the numbing discipline of the 22 hours every day with the pumps attached to her, her ongoing lack of stamina that hugely limits and impacts on her life and desire to be free, and she rarely talks about the physical pain that so often is a side effect of the failure of her stomach to properly process the contents, or the indescribable pain of the procedure to replace her feeding tubes, which she endures every 5 months, without anaesthetic, to avoid any risk of damage to her voice. Her most recent change of stoma and feeding tubes (Her Mickey button) happened only 3 days before the first Vrijthof concert In Maastricht in July, and it went wrong, and took well over an hour compared to the normal 20 to 30 minutes, a video of the rehearsals the next day made it very evident that she was still suffering, she had to wear a winter coat to keep warm, and this procedure has to happen every 5 months. Emma's foundation can be found at gastrostars.nl Please, if at all possible, join me in making a (regular) contribution to her foundation, to enable them to help patients like Emma, and research this awful disease that has affected her from birth, and required her to be tied to the pumps and feeding tubes since she was 9 MONTHS old, for 22 hours a day, hopefully, the work of her foundation will find a cure. Please also be very careful if you post or respond to anything from Emma on social media, her increased visibility has resulted in significant numbers of bad actors creating fake accounts, the ONLY valid web site that supports Emma and others like her is the gastrostars site. One of the main people in Gastrostars is a surgeon who has a lot of experience in treating gastroparesis, and she is not only a surgeon, but also suffers from the same disease herself, to the extent that as a result of her condition worsening, she's had to leave her role in the hospital, and she is now dedicated to the foundation, and working to help find possible new treatments, or even better the cure that will free people like Emma to live a more normal life, rather than be tied to the feeding pumps for so many hours every day. It will be so good if the work of Emma's foundation can lead to a better treatment, or even a cure, which will free her to do more singing, and it may be people here who make that possible.
All so well worded again. In an interview last week in the context of Andre Rieu's 75th birthday on 01 October 2024, Emma was also mentioned. Andre said that she is very welcome to go on tour again in 2025, but the condition is that she does the entire tour. She really feels at home in and with the orchestra and is gaining a lot of experience. However, she also has numerous offers and plans that she would like to fill and is very ambitious, so that is going to be a very difficult decision. I can't wait to see what happens.
Thank you for your love for Emma and being one of her greatest fans I think. Thank you for sharing so much information for knowing and understand her more. I am happy that she has also a loving and caring family, she need that just like the millions of fans that support her.❤❤❤
This particular show in the reaction video was a kick off for the musicals season in The Netherlands broadcast live in a 2 hour program on Dutch TV last month. It had previews of musicals that can be seen in Dutch theatres now and that are coming. I think including Emma in this show has been in the pipeline for a long time because back in April, at the end of the last musicals season, there was the equivalent Musical Awards Gala show at which Emma presented the award for the 'best up-and-coming talent'. Plus Emma was invited to the premier of the new Disney Frozen musical in Amsterdam on 9th June, which Emma went to straight from the Airport after returning from Prague having completed 9 concerts in 11 days in Eastern Europe with Andre Rieu. So, like you suggest, Emma will be doing more Disney. She has been signed up by Disney NL and Medialine to sing in the 'Disney In Concert' live shows in the 17000 capacity Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam in January 2025. Some (probably older people, like me, but then not like me), turn their noses up at Disney music, but there is no way Emma as a 16 year old vocalist would turn down the chance to be a real life Disney princess would she. She will be great, and is great, as we can see here. Thanks for the Emma reaction.
Fantastic Reaction! Here is another performance of hers where she is singing Demi Lavato's Father that is just awesome! "Father" - Emma Kok & KMKJWF - Herdenkingsconcert "Slag om de Residentie" - Amare Den Haag
Great reaction D, it was just for a little moment that you almost couldn't believe that our beloved Emma really stood there on the stage of the great Disney Concerts. It really happened and that's because she is such a great singer and an inspiring lovely young woman, Disney Netherlands saw her and Voila!!! I like this performance so much and it is one of my favourites. Thank you for listening to so many video's of Emma and supporting her like you do. I can see you really love her and care for her just as much as many of us do. We all are so very proud what Emma do and have done till now. Last year she has improved so much, because she works so very hard for it and also because everything you do with love, what Emma has with singing, it will become better and better while it is already so great. I am so happy for her, you can see she feels happy and enjoys everything. I also like that Enzo, her big brother, is also supporting her often and also work together with Emma. He is really very proud, you can see that the way he looks at her when he plays his violin for her while she is singing, magnificent. So D, thank you again for supporting Emma and also her Gastrostars. Next months there will be another great performances of Emma on stages which become bigger and bigger and she loves performing for so many people. Keep following her and we'll do our best to give you the last updates because you deserve that, thank you again❤❤❤
This performance is also one of my favorites Anja. To see Emma striding so confidently down the stage while singing so beautifully causes my heart to leap from the sheer joy of it. It's not like she ever lacked confidence, but this last year on tour with Andre Rieu has boosted her confidence to new levels. Likewise, it was never that she lacked vocal skills, but she has learned so much this last year, and with her new confidence she feels free to experiment and try new techniques with her voice. The results have been phenomenal. She is now a true artist, and a working artist at that. I am so happy for her. I am going to see her! I will, God willing, be at her show at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam next year. I have my ticket and I can hardly wait. I love Amsterdam so much. I have been there twice before. It is the most beautiful and charming city in all of Europe. Will I see you there?
@@exeter1588 Thank you David for so many things, I love Emma and it makes me happy that not only her beautiful voice keeps improving but more than that her health stay strong and even looks also better. Maybe because she is so happy by living her dream. At the begin I was worried about travelling all over the world that she could become ill or tired. Now I am so happy that it's going so well. Thank you for all your love and support that you give to Emma, that is important to show the world who Emma is and to stay at the top of best artists, that is very difficult and impossible without having fans like you. I listen every day to her songs and she has so many views for many songs, it keeps growing. I can't react always because I am quite ill myself but try always to support Emma in my good days. Great that you have a ticket for her concert in Amsterdam, I heard all tickets are sold out already. With my conditition I can't go anymore, it's a pity but I still can enjoy her music. And David, I hope you will enjoy for both of us when you go, you both are in my heart. With love ❤❤❤
@@JohannaCatharinavandenBlink Anja, this morning I deleted my original response to your comment. It was terrible, and I am very embarrassed. I hope you did not see it, but if you did, I apologize. I'm not sure what I was trying to say or even why. There are some things going on in my life right now that are causing me frustration, but that is a poor excuse for being thoughtless and insensitive. I am very sorry. Like you, I am always concerned that Emma pace herself, and not try to do too much. On the other hand, despite her condition, she is young and resilient, not to mention courageous, and well looked after by people who genuinely care about her. I am also happy that things are going well. She is learning so much, and because she is nearly an adult now, she is able to to match her natural abilities with the experience she is gaining to become a very formidable force in the world of music. She is a working artist now; a true professional. I am very much looking forward to seeing her in Amsterdam next year. I can hardly wait. I understand that the show will feature some songs that she has written herself. That will be very interesting. I have seen the lyrics of one song she has been working on, and it is very moving and emotional. I think she has the makings of a great songwriter. The song that I just mentioned is about her fears that, because of her condition, she is not attractive, and incapable of finding love. It makes me very sad that she thinks this way, but I fully understand why. I pray that God will have mercy on her, and send her someone who will love her and protect her for all the days of her life. I am very sorry Anja that you have not been well. Still, as much as you are able, please try to make everyday the best day possible. I am sure you are doing that already, but it never hurts to have a reminder. You are also in my heart with Emma. An abundance of love to you. ♥🌹
@@exeter1588 Dear David, I'm happy that I can react now, it is not that when I don't do it I don't want it, not at all. Without knowing you I always listen to my feelings and with you that feels good. Without words I feel as far as possible a little who you are and found a friend in you. There is much that I want to say and ask and share, about Emma , about you, if you want I can share also about myself. That is also where friends are for. I have to think about what you said about Emma feeling herself and also want to listen to you if you want to share thougts that I maybe can help with. I will do it in small reactons because my condition but I have also so much to share with you. First Emma, at her age and the way she lives and her illness I understand that it is much and also sometimes difficult for her. It's like sitting in a rollingcoaster for her but exactly what she sings in Voila is the way she has to live, accept herself and look positive what she has and it is so important starting with her family, family first and save, a place to rest and being herself. Ofcourse she will find a good man, 100 at each finger as she wants but better stay alone untill she is really happy with herself and acceptance who she is, that's most important. Loving herself and knowing she has her family who loves her. It would be better if she takes more time to understand her feelings, she maybe lives too fast now. Can be caused because she is running away so she need not to feel and think, do you also think that that would be better to understand herself David? I learned in my life that was really heavy that you first must choose for yourself and not being influenced by others, accept het family. Behalve only singing, is there more she would like to do? For her and for everyone it is also important to talk, not keeping her feelings inside but talk about them. Writing is also possible but she has to learn to share them to make it more clear for herself and accept them, that takes time. Good that she is alone, not extra complications with a friend. Behalf music there is more, we also have our believe and love given by God to us, also Emma has that. There is so much more. Also much more that I want to say. For now I would advice Emma to take more rest for herself, choose someone to talk with and share her feelings. I have a good feeling about Enzo, I don't know him at all but he look so kind and you can see in everything how much he loves Emma. Yes, Enzo can be very important now for Emma. What do you think David? For now I stop but soon I'll be back. And don't worry, the last time I wrote to you I haven't seen of your reactions after, today the first time again. I'll find a way that we can communicate by writing a letter like it was for internet came. Also want you to be safe in Amsterdam next year and I will try everything to make it as safe as possible. At the moment and the last years Amsterdam became more dangerous and what happened there last week is terrible and I could almost not believe it. But by writing in a letter I can tell more. I'm gonna find something for doing that, is better. Take care, don't worry too much and when you do please go for a walk, enjoy the nature. Maybe you have a friend by having a dog. My best friend is a dog, Lola and we love each other so much and it is always so positive without complications, do you understand that? Hear you soon but also take time for that, never pressure to write back immediately. Make a great day and enjoy, with love❤❤💘
@@JohannaCatharinavandenBlink Anja, I hope all is well with you, and Lola. You honor me , and yes, you have found a friend in me. Though our countries are far apart in distance, we share a common heritage in Western Civilization. It has always fascinated me that I can speak with someone from Europe about a myriad of subjects, and they will know exactly what I am talking about because we have this common bond rooted in Christianity, and a shared history going back 1000 years and more.exeter1588 My ancestors are from the German State of North Rhineland Westphalia just across the border from the Netherlands. Even though I served in the US Army far to the south in Bavaria, by just being in Germany, I felt a connection; a sense of being in the home of my ancestors. I also had this feeling when I was in the Netherlands. I have visited the Netherlands twice. It is a beautiful country, and its capital city Amsterdam is the most beautiful and charming city in the world.@ Emma, I think, just wants to be a normal 16 year old girl. Of course, this is impossible, and not only because of her illness. She is a big star now, and that also means she cannot have a normal life. She is fortunate to have a good family and close friends who love her and protect her. Still, she becomes frustrated, and despairs because she is different. My heart aches for her, but I know she is very strong, and she will overcome her doubts and her fears. gmail Enzo is a fine young man, and it is clear that he loves his baby sister very much. I saw an interview with Emma in which Enzo is called over and is also speaking to the reporter. As he was speaking, Emma stands close to him and takes his arm. I knew then that those two had a very special relationship. I am delighted to see Enzo performing with her on violin in a number of her recent performances. That is very special..com I am looking forward to visiting Amsterdam again to see Emma at the Concertgebouw. Of course I have heard about the recent troubles. Hopefully the government of Prime Minister Schoof will take the actions necessary to see that such a terrible thing does not happen again in the future. I have seen rowdiness and disorder in Amsterdam when I was there before. Then, it was mostly drunk foreigners late at night. Still, I never felt unsafe. I'm sure things will be ok. I do not participate in the kinds of behavior that leads to trouble. I would like to continue to correspond with you Anja. Email, I think, would be the best way. Unfortunately UA-cam won't allow me to give my email address in the comments. Do you have a better idea? Also, your English is very good.... far better than my Dutch which is almost nonexistent. However, if it would be easier for you to write in Dutch, I can translate it, no problem. All the best to you Anja. My email is in this comment....a puzzle for you to solve. ♥🌹

There is so much more, and for your readers, a search for Emma Kok on UA-cam will find more.
Emma's foundation can be found at gastrostars.nl
Please, if at all possible, join me in making a (regular) contribution to her foundation, to enable them to help patients like Emma, and research this awful disease that has affected her from birth, and required her to be tied to the pumps and feeding tubes since she was 9 MONTHS old, for 22 hours a day, hopefully, the work of her foundation will find a cure.
I am happy that she has also a loving and caring family, she need that just like the millions of fans that support her.❤❤❤
🧡
She has become a Disney princess!
Yes thank you, both performances of Father are beautifull, thank you and enjoy❤❤❤
Our latest Disney Princess.
It has always fascinated me that I can speak with someone from Europe about a myriad of subjects, and they will know exactly what I am talking about because we have this common bond rooted in Christianity, and a shared history going back 1000 years and more.exeter1588
My ancestors are from the German State of North Rhineland Westphalia just across the border from the Netherlands. Even though I served in the US Army far to the south in Bavaria, by just being in Germany, I felt a connection; a sense of being in the home of my ancestors. I also had this feeling when I was in the Netherlands. I have visited the Netherlands twice. It is a beautiful country, and its capital city Amsterdam is the most beautiful and charming city in the world.@
Emma, I think, just wants to be a normal 16 year old girl. Of course, this is impossible, and not only because of her illness. She is a big star now, and that also means she cannot have a normal life. She is fortunate to have a good family and close friends who love her and protect her. Still, she becomes frustrated, and despairs because she is different. My heart aches for her, but I know she is very strong, and she will overcome her doubts and her fears. gmail
Enzo is a fine young man, and it is clear that he loves his baby sister very much. I saw an interview with Emma in which Enzo is called over and is also speaking to the reporter. As he was speaking, Emma stands close to him and takes his arm. I knew then that those two had a very special relationship. I am delighted to see Enzo performing with her on violin in a number of her recent performances. That is very special..com
I am looking forward to visiting Amsterdam again to see Emma at the Concertgebouw.
♥🌹
🤗🍒🌹 well done again D
Thanks for this comment, this is definitely Emma's style of music if you watch this performance (ua-cam.com/video/itxs-aNyRJY/v-deo.htmlsi=lNdIMtIiL1yVvr7L ) . Beautifully sung by the princess Emma.
Please give your reaction to Vanny Vabiola's new cover music video "Is This Love", also her new official music video "My Precious Daughter".
