Emma has spent the past year touring the world with this orchestra. She is limited to being able to sing two songs in a row since she is hooked up to tubes for 22 hours of every day, but each performance is as riveting as the last. You will be equally thrilled with "Dancing on the Stars" as you were with this one--and it's in English so you will be able to understand the importance of the words to who she is and what she desires.
Emma can sing more songs in a single concert, she sang 7 or 8 in her own concerts in 2022 and several last Christmas with Andre. Emma sang 4 songs in Geleen on 4th October and stayed till the end of the concert which was towards midnight (I was there). It is true Emma has challenges and for undisclosed reasons was unable to sing at all on 12th September in Santiago, the remainder of the Santiago and Bogota concerts Emma only sang Voila.
This young person is music, is art in perfection! Starting several times one bar before the orchestra alone proves a somnambulistic security in what they do. She demonstrates incredible hearing and incredible tone stability. Her sensational holding of the notes, ending every word - not a wrong beat. Not a wrong note. Her incredible swinging between her belly and head voice, her completely natural vibrato, her oscillation between delicate breath and powerful vocal volume. "Ne partez pas, j'vous en supplie restez longtemps" - this heavenly and angelic fragility. Her beat and tempo, her unearthly jump a semitone higher without orchestral help. Her completely natural singing of Chancon's typical chant, only to unpack an unearthly vocal volume moments later. And above all - her absolutely professional interaction with the audience and the orchestra, her phenomenal stage presence. the whole time she is talking to the audience - at 15 years old!!!! Many 50-year-olds can't do that. This girl is a new Edith Piaf. But not the dark, black, hopeless and pain-tormented Piaf - but a fun-loving, thirsty and incredibly strong young artist. In my opinion, Emma has lifted the French chancon into a new sphere. This girl doesn't sing music - she IS music. And if there is a god - with Emma he has created a work of perfection! From the first note it leads the master, the orchestra and the audience. I've never experienced anything like that. And especially not from someone so young. That brief smile from the violinist behind her sums it all up in a heartbeat.
You should definately check out more from Emma. She is one of the most talented young vocal artists in the world today. Her technical proficiency and performance skills are off the charts for one so young. Though she is singing in French here, she mostly sings in English. This was an epic performance; a masterpiece by a 15 year old Dutch girl. Yea, she's that good. Thanks for reacting. All the best.
Emma sings in Dutch - her mother tongue; German; English and Limburgs dialect. She does NOT speak French but learnt pronunciation and meaning of Voila.
She is a national treasure in Holland and you can see why. She ❤is best singer I have heard and she continues to get better! As others have mentioned, you want to react to Dancing on the Stars, one of her first big time covers and the story behind it makes it even more impactful. Emma is also at an extremely high consciousness level which provides much of the power in her voice. She is one of a kind!
Now you need to get caught up and do this year’s big one. Her first ORIGINAL song called Dancing On The Stars. It is even better than Voila. Plus with Christmas coming, last year’s Christmas concerts. In today’s video, remember she is Dutch. The song was in French, which she learned just for this song. But… being the pro she already is, she did not learn just how to pronounce each word, she knew the meaning of each and every word. This is how she puts the proper emotion in all of her songs. She does jot just open her mouth and sing. She tells that story as if she is living it right there with you. A one in a lifetime VOCALIST. Much more than just a singer.
Where to start, Your reaction to Emma is so good, so positive about her, there's so much to let you know about, and I know I may hit the UA-cam limit on comment length, but here goes. First, even more impressive, Voila was Emma's first ever performance with Andre, and her first ever performance of this version of the song, very much modified by Andre from how she originally learned it, she won Ministars with it in early 2023, and Andre significantly changed it to suit the orchestra, the quality of what she delivered was beyond stunning, and this was over 12 months ago, and in front of 12,500 people, the first of a series of 12 concerts in the town square of Maastricht, Andre's home town, since then, she's been touring with Andre for the whole of 2024, and also did a number of concerts between July and December with him, she's now appeared in front of at least 1 Million people around the world, that's the sorts of numbers that Andre draws to his concerts, this week alone, 4 sell out concerts in Lisbon, at a venue that seats 20,000. Emma wasn't just singing, that night, she was living her dream, as she walked out on to that stage, mentally, she was the butterfly of her dream emerging from the cocoon and soaring high over that stage, the orchestra and that huge audience, it was the theme of her first single, LAAT MIJ EEN VLINDER ZIJN , let me be a butterfly ua-cam.com/video/Zcxan9R5s4E/v-deo.html released 12 months earlier, a song written for her, and expressing her deep desire for freedom, to be able to rise above the limitations of her disease, Gastroparesis, which means that she's tied to 2 feeding pumps that push liquid nutrition into her stomach for 22 hours a day, she can only be free of the pumps for a maximum of 2 hours a day, sometimes less, and her stamina is not great, so there are times when she has to resort to using a wheelchair for mobility, so her time off the pumps when on stage is precious, her therapy. Voila has had in excess of 76 million views on UA-cam alone, and a huge number of streams on other social media sites, bringing the total to well over 125 Million, and there's other work by her on UA-cam. 12 months later, she sang a new song, and that new song massively raised the bar of perfection that she'd set previously, and she massively cleared that new high bar with the performance, Dancing on the Stars, ua-cam.com/video/Ll1uR_HUOP8/v-deo.html Emma has used the time she's been touring with Andre and the orchestra to watch, listen and learn, and the result is a massive lift in her ability, it's sublime, and the top notes are mind blowing, both in terms of the range, and the duration, the best words I can use is to say that on several occasions, she delivers the equivalent of a vocal explosion, which devastates everything within earshot, she has such power, I don't know how, she's still tiny as a result of her illness, 1 Mtr 50, and only a little over 50 Kg, but she has worked on making sure she delivers incredible performances. Some of her other songs from 2024 have been performed as part of the annual commemoration concerts to remember the huge number of lives lost in the Netherlands during the liberation of the country from German occupation, she performed in front of the Dutch Royal family and high ranking politicians, a duet with April Darby, 'When you believe', and it was a wonderful performance. ua-cam.com/video/YG8WV1GFt_c/v-deo.html She also performed other songs during these concerts, a stunning performance of a technically difficult song, a Demi Levato cover of 'Father', ua-cam.com/video/YG8WV1GFt_c/v-deo.html Another deeply emotional song from the same concert, 'Hero', ua-cam.com/video/rohP0V3ECRY/v-deo.html From a different concert, 'You raise me up', ua-cam.com/video/NIXB7TbeMvw/v-deo.html In the autumn, she appeared at a concert, previewing an event she's been booked for in January 2025, at the Ziggodome in Amsterdam, where she will perform 2 concerts with the Disney organisation, and this preview is stunning, both in terms of her power, and the quality of what she delivers, her stage presence is incredibly good, and her delivery of these well know songs is just sublime. ua-cam.com/video/rhALa-baZGA/v-deo.html This is a huge event, in a massive venue, and then, as an indication of just how much her star has risen, after 2 guest appearances with Disney, only a week later, Emma will be appearing at the same venue with Andre Rieu, in a completely different event, as part of his 2025 world tour, which she's been booked for, a continuance of her appearances around the world, Another Disney song, she recorded this at home in her own studio, from the film, 'The little mermaid', Ariel's song, 'Part of your world' ua-cam.com/video/itxs-aNyRJY/v-deo.html She's also announced her first ever concert in her own name, it will be in Amsterdam in October 2025, at the national concert theatre, it was announced and sold out in 3 hours last week, and it will be a wonderful event, I was very happy to get tickets for it. Other songs, with a Christmas theme, she did a wonderful performance for Dutch TV singing an orchestral arrangement of 'Hallelujah', ua-cam.com/video/9qVHQuPQud0/v-deo.html Emma was a guest star in the Andre RIeu 2023 Christmas concert series, and sang several songs, a beautiful version of 'White Christmas', started A capella, with no guide note, and then Andre brings the orchestra in, before she's joined by other singers, a large event, you could have heard a pin drop as she started singing, ua-cam.com/video/ZZEyhG2bEeM/v-deo.html Later in the same show, 'All I want for Christmas', ua-cam.com/video/xCBOVw7PErU/v-deo.html One of Emma's first ever appearances, June 2020, with her brother Enzo, a special concert with no audience because of Covid, she was only 12 at the time, and a tiny 12 at that, but even then, her ability and quality was so evident, ua-cam.com/video/oMyqCs6zZP4/v-deo.html There is so much more, and a search of UA-cam for Emma Kok will find a lot of her performances, my close is important, the only thing that can stop Emma now is her health, and that's why I am going to repeat my appeal to everyone listening or reading, if at all possible, please make a (regular) donation to Emma's foundation, who are working to find better treatments, or ideally, a cure for the illness that at the moment has no cure, and also can have devastating implications for sufferers, many of whom have taken their own lives as a result of the intense pressure and stress that the discipline of living with gastroparesis imposes on them. I know from recent social media posts, she still finds the unrelenting daily limitations of tube feeding incredibly hard to cope with at times, despite that she's loving the singing with Andre, which she regards as her therapy. She posted some heart breaking photos and comments from her holiday in Portugal, having to use her wheelchair after a time swimming, even then, at a time when the family were relaxing and enjoying a break away from their normal lives, Emma had no relief, no escape from the mental and physical pain of having to live with the numbing discipline of the 22 hours every day with the pumps attached to her, her ongoing lack of stamina that hugely limits and impacts on her life and desire to be free, and she never talks about the physical pain that so often is a side effect of the failure of her stomach to properly process the contents, or the indescribable pain of the procedure to replace her feeding tubes, which she endures every 5 months, without anaesthetic, to avoid any risk of damage to her voice. Her most recent change of stoma and feeding tubes (Her Mickey button) happened only 3 days before the first Vrijthof concert In Maastricht in July, and it went wrong, and took well over an hour compared to the normal 20 to 30 minutes, a video of the rehearsals the next day made it very evident that she was still suffering, she had to wear a winter coat to keep warm, and this procedure has to happen every 5 months. Emma's foundation can be found at gastrostars.nl Please, if at all possible, join me in making a (regular) contribution to her foundation, to enable them to help patients like Emma, and research this awful disease that has affected her from birth, and required her to be tied to the pumps and feeding tubes since she was 9 MONTHS old, for 22 hours a day, hopefully, the work of her foundation will find a cure. Please also be very careful if you post or respond to anything from Emma on social media, her increased visibility has resulted in significant numbers of bad actors creating fake accounts, the ONLY valid web site that supports Emma and others like her is the gastrostars site. One of the main people in Gastrostars is a surgeon who has a lot of experience in treating gastroparesis, and she is not only a surgeon, but also suffers from the same disease herself, to the extent that as a result of her condition worsening, she's had to leave her role in the hospital, and she is now dedicated to the foundation, and working to help find possible new treatments, or even better the cure that will free people like Emma to live a more normal life, rather than be tied to the feeding pumps for so many hours every day. It will be so good if the work of Emma's foundation can lead to a better treatment, or even a cure, which will free her to do more singing, and it may be people here who make that possible.
Lyrics in English Listen to me, me, the singer-to-be Tell your lovers, your friends about me Tell them about this girl with the black eyes and the crazy dream. What I want is to write stories that will reach you. That's all Voilà, voilà, voilà, that's who I am. This is me, even when I lie open I'm afraid, yes This is me in the noise and in the silence Look at me, or at least what's left of me Look at me before I hate myself What shall I tell you that another's lips will not tell you? It's little, but it's all I have; I put it there. That's it Voilà, voilà, voilà, this is who I am This is me me, even if I lie open, it is finished This is my face, this is my scream, this is who I am Voilà, voilà, voilà, it's right here Me, my dream, my desire, how I go to ruin, how I laugh at it That's me in the noise and in the silence. Don't go, I beg you, stay for a long time. It may not save me, no But to live without you, I don't know how to do it. Love me like you love a friend who's going away forever I want people to love me because I can't like my outline Voilà, voilà, voilà, this is who I am This is me, even when I lie open, it's over This is me in the noise and also in the rage Look at me, and in the end also my eyes and my hands All I have is here, it's my face, it's my screaming This is me me, this is me me Voilà Voilà Voilà, voilà Voilà
Wait, did you really say "who needs a stomach when you can sing like that..." ? I can hear the cries of "hater!!" already (it's not hate, but criticism; big difference - usually) but apparently you don't know much about singing if you would make a comment like that. It takes a tremendous amount of training, long hours of practice and willpower for a perfectly healthy person to be able to sing like she does. But to have gastroparesis (literally, "paralyzed stomach") and do this?? It's almost beyond belief. There is so much that goes into singing, and you need to understand the anatomy of that to be able to appreciate what she's doing here. A singer's stomach is an integral part of her apparatus, or instrument if you will. A singer pushes out air with her diaphragm through her larynx. But typically, to achieve this, one needs to have strong stomach muscles. Her stomach doesn't work, so she has to be able to generate her powerful voice despite that awful condition. Your remark just seemed like a flippant one without taking any of this into account, that's all.
Emma Kok's surname is pronounced in Dutch exactly how you said it, good, not so good one of you found it so amusing which is a somewhat 'teen laddish' response! It translates as cook, or chef and is the 27th most common name in The Netherlands, similarly in Germany and South Africa (Clark or Clarke are around about the same level of commonality in the USA and UK respectively). You are also right, Voila is a sad song but also a determined song. Emma is known as, and refers to herself as, a warrior. 'Warrior' being a Demi Lovato song that Emma sang during her low times and may have saved her life. A principal cause of Gastroparesis sufferes 'giving up on life' is the mental effects of the condition. Note Emma also suffered with mental challenges because of her condition, her size and feeding pumps etc were a cause for her being bullied at primary school etc... Emma's second single was also titled 'Strijder', the Dutch translation of Warrior / Fiighter. Emma chose to sing Voila a long time before Andre Rieu asked her to sing it with him. Emma chose this song it because the lyrics relate perfectly to her own story. Emma is also tough, she has to have her two feeding tubes (one to her intestine, one to her stomach) replaced every 5 months along with the Mickey Button interface in her abdomen. This would normally require anesthetic and intubation via a tube down her throat which can impact her voice. When Emma was 13, she herself chose to have these procedures with no anesthetic to protect her voice. Emma Kok is a genuinely gifted musical talent, she hasn't just a pretty voice who picked up a microphone and started to sing, she plays violin and piano, has sung in concerts since the age of 12 supported by elite level musicians. As well as her many live stage performances, she has appeared on Dutch TV regularly and on German TV. However, I wont try and sell you on Emma, she does a great job of doing that herself. Here are some recommendations - not in chronological order, but in a suggested review order. I have given the performance dates and Emma's age at the time. Even as a 12 year old Emma has a depth, range and power to her voice that is otherworldly: 1) July 2024 (Age 16), There is 8.5m views on UA-cam as Emma sings her own song 'Dancing On The Stars' Notes: This was a year after 'Voila' that you have reacted to here, and at the same venue, again with 12500 in the audience - ua-cam.com/video/Ll1uR_HUOP8/v-deo.html 2) 8th May 2024 (age 16), at the Memorial Concert for "Battle of the Residence" in The Hague, Emma sings 'Father' by Demi Lovato - ua-cam.com/video/zXWBj7-edWU/v-deo.html Notes: This was performed as part of the annual Commemoration, Freedom, Peace concerts, performed with the Royal Military Band KMKJWF ADVICE - HOLD ON TIGHT! This is emotional!!!!! 3) 25th August 2024 (Age 16) - 'Disney In Concert' Live preview on Dutch TV 'Gala Awards Kick Off' - ua-cam.com/video/rhALa-baZGA/v-deo.html Notes: Emma is singed to sing at the Disney In Concert Live shows at the 17000 seat Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam in January 2025, this TV show being a preview for that. 4) 5th May 2024 (Age 16), On the Amstel River, Amsterdam, sings duet of ‘When You Believe’ with April Darby - ua-cam.com/video/YG8WV1GFt_c/v-deo.html Notes: This was a Vrijheid (Freedom) Concert in the presence of the King and Queen of The Netherlands (who are shown in the final shot of the video). 5) 14th May 2024 (age 16), at the Memorial Concert for "Battle of the Grebbeberg" in the Cunera Church in Rhenen, Emma sings 'You Raise Me Up' most notably sung by Josh Groban - ua-cam.com/video/NIXB7TbeMvw/v-deo.html Notes: This was performed as part of the annual Commemoration, Freedom, Peace concerts, performed with the Royal Military Band KMKJWF. Emma spent the day at the Memorial site of the Battle, extracts of which 6) 26th June 2022 (age 14), ZAPP Music Festival in Houten, Laat Mij Een Vlinder Zijn (Let Me Be A butterfly) A live performance here with English subtitles - ua-cam.com/video/Vq__3YiPemM/v-deo.html Notes: on 11th March 2022 (the day before Emma's 14th birthday), Emma’s first single is released, ‘Laat Mij Een Vlinder Zijn’ (Let Me Be A Butterfly) co-written with, and produced by, Tjeerd Oosterhuis. From a young age Emma has associated with the butterfly metaphor, breaking out of the constraints of the cocoon, linked to her condition constrained by her health and feeding pumps. Since The Voice Kids, until 2024, Emma’s In-Ear Monitors carried a butterfly motif. There is an official music video but this live version really displays Emma's stage presence despite her young age. 7) 28th June 2020 (age 12), Emma sings 'Opportunity' by Sia from the movie version of Annie - ua-cam.com/video/LBLloP4bQLE/v-deo.html Notes: at the Kerkrade football stadium - 2nd ‘Heart for Artists’ Benefit Concert to support the cultural sector during the Covid Pandemic. Socially distanced for attendees and then live streamed. The video is of the whole concert, but the link takes you to the start of Emma's song. There are copied versions on YT with just the song but the video/audio quality is better with this one. This is by far the best vocal performance I have ever seen by a child of Emma's age at the time. 8) 4th June 2021 (age 12 to 13), The Voice Kids Journey - ua-cam.com/video/20gXikNRjbo/v-deo.html Wins the 10th Series of RTL4’s The Voice Kids Netherlands. Filming for the season started when Emma was still 12 years old and completed with her winning after her 13th birthday. 9) 16th June 2023, 'Strijder' ('Warrior') - Official video - ua-cam.com/video/rL0GLdnWEKk/v-deo.html Emma’s second single is released, ‘Strijder’ (Warrior), as for her first single was co-written with, and produced by, Tjeerd Oosterhuis. I have missed out LOADS of wonderful Emma performances but have left it at that for now. Enjoy 😃♥
@@exeter1588 To be honest I did hesitate. I get why a minority of English speakers respond that way or feel awkward in a public post but I would expect a level of intellect, world experience or simple common sense to prevent it. And for a serious reactor not to want to present such a childish attitude.. The deciding factor for me was that Emma could conceivably see these and for a girl teased and bullied I’d hate for this kind of thing to be another thing for her to have on her mind. There was a selection of YT reaction videos of Emma shown in abstract in an an André Rieu tv programme (Welcome To My World, Series 5, Episode 5, about 35 minutes in), so people on Andre’s team definitely monitor them. There is one example where Emma herself commented on a very positive reaction video. The Johan Bester ‘Voila’ reaction so at some point she was definitely looking.
@@RogerC-2024 I know of at least two intances of Emma responding to a UA-cam reaction video. The first is the one you mentioned, Johan Bester's reaction to 'Voila', the second was a reaction from Tara Simon Studios, again to 'Voila'. There definately could be more. So, yes, she does sometimes seek feedback from these forums. As well as she speaks English, I'm sure she is aware that the pronunciation of her surname for some low IQ English speakers elicits an amused reaction, but I'm sure she understands that this is only true of a very tiny number of people. Still, you are right to have concerns, and be willing to defend her honor. I was actually banned from UA-cam comments for 24 hours once for a harsh comment I made in a similar circumstance. That is why I was reticent here to react this fool's snickering.
@@RogerC-2024 I know of two instances of Emma commenting on a UA-cam reaction video to one of her performances. The first was from Johan Bester as you mentioned, and the second from Tara Simon Studios. I think it is likely there are more. She is clearly interested in how people are reacting to her performances. As fluent as she is in English, I'm sure she is aware that the pronunciation of her surname to an English speaker elicits amusement, or worse, from only a tiny minority of low IQ persons. I'm pretty sure she is not losing any sleep over this. I appreciate your comment, and your willingness to defend her honor. You are far more tactful than myself.
FYI Emma is more petite than other girls her age, her condition also affects her growth rate. A few months ago she debuted her original song DANCING ON THE STARS on the same stage: ua-cam.com/video/Ll1uR_HUOP8/v-deo.html (all English) ...a few more Emma Kok performances: *HALLELUJAH* ( MAX KERSTCONCERT) ua-cam.com/video/9qVHQuPQud0/v-deo.html *THE CLIMB* (Miley Cyrus) ua-cam.com/video/dOhzlDEuCBg/v-deo.html *YOU RAISE ME UP* (Live) ua-cam.com/video/NIXB7TbeMvw/v-deo.html
You are not advising to watch, when you wish upon a star that is by some even called her best performance yet. Did you not see that performance? Maybe you forgot?
Emma does not actually speak French, she had a French tutor teach her the lyrics phonetically because she connected with the meaning of the song. VOILA was written by Barbara Pravi from France. Ms. Pravi is a victim of domestic abuse. The song is about vulnerability, strength, and self-acceptance, saying "This is me. Here I am. Accept me for what I am, voilà.". Here's a link to the same performance with English subtitles: ua-cam.com/video/telyzClalVs/v-deo.html
One yeaar after this performance, after traveling the world in a tour in Mexico, USA, Germany, UK, France and many other countries, she came back to this same town square with another mind blowing and hearth breaking song: "Dancing on the stars" ua-cam.com/video/Ll1uR_HUOP8/v-deo.html
Hi folks. So nice you got to know Emma. She's incredible. Imagine not being able to eat and share a meal with friends or love ones. It's one of the most significant social interactions we have as humans. She can never do that. And being hooked to feeding pumps 22h a day limits her substantially in everyday life. She has to deal with daily physical and mental struggles. But still she finds comfort and joy in singing and shares her precious time disconnected from the tubes to share her extraordinary gift with us. I have a lot of suggestions for you. From a very young Emma (13-14) till now (16). For starters you can continue your journey with 'Dancing On The Starts'. Performed a year later on the same stage under the magnificent wings of André Rieu: ua-cam.com/video/Ll1uR_HUOP8/v-deo.htmlsi=783hp9L10FVDN7g3 More suggestion follow later😃. What the translation of her familyname is you can read in other comments, so that's out of the way: nothing funny about it and nothing to laugh about. André Rieu was so impressed by Emma that he asked her to join him and his orchestra on World tour. Her mother as well so Emma coold get all the care she needs. And that's where Emma is now: this entire year she is part of André Rieu's musical "family", and just a few weeks ago it has been released that Emma will be with them in 2025 as well: she can live her dream and that is what she is doing. It also tells a lot about André Rieu as a human being.
Her name, in her country is pronounce more like KOKE. So Go easy on him. We see it and say it as it’s spelled, but remember this, a name IS NOT a word. Many times pronounced different than they are spelled.

God created the world, but the Dutch created the Netherlands.
she is amazing. found her over a year ago with this song. dancing on the stars is another awesome one. her songs on her page are amazing as well.
Sorry: Dancing on the stars.

The Netherlands ❤
How it is a cover when yhe composer took it gor her of yhe shelve after 20 years and never performed by anyone?
Thank you very much for your reaction. EMMA KOK is my favorite. The singing of Emma is sublime very Emotionally 😭❤️💥👋🎤🎶
She loved the song and learned French to sing it.
Emma wasn't just singing, that night, she was living her dream, as she walked out on to that stage, mentally, she was the butterfly of her dream emerging from the cocoon and soaring high over that stage, the orchestra and that huge audience, it was the theme of her first single, LAAT MIJ EEN VLINDER ZIJN , let me be a butterfly
ua-cam.com/video/Zcxan9R5s4E/v-deo.html
released 12 months earlier, a song written for her, and expressing her deep desire for freedom, to be able to rise above the limitations of her disease, Gastroparesis, which means that she's tied to 2 feeding pumps that push liquid nutrition into her stomach for 22 hours a day, she can only be free of the pumps for a maximum of 2 hours a day, sometimes less, and her stamina is not great, so there are times when she has to resort to using a wheelchair for mobility, so her time off the pumps when on stage is precious, her therapy.
Voila has had in excess of 76 million views on UA-cam alone, and a huge number of streams on other social media sites, bringing the total to well over 125 Million, and there's other work by her on UA-cam.
12 months later, she sang a new song, and that new song massively raised the bar of perfection that she'd set previously, and she massively cleared that new high bar with the performance, Dancing on the Stars,
ua-cam.com/video/Ll1uR_HUOP8/v-deo.html
Emma has used the time she's been touring with Andre and the orchestra to watch, listen and learn, and the result is a massive lift in her ability, it's sublime, and the top notes are mind blowing, both in terms of the range, and the duration, the best words I can use is to say that on several occasions, she delivers the equivalent of a vocal explosion, which devastates everything within earshot, she has such power, I don't know how, she's still tiny as a result of her illness, 1 Mtr 50, and only a little over 50 Kg, but she has worked on making sure she delivers incredible performances.
Some of her other songs from 2024 have been performed as part of the annual commemoration concerts to remember the huge number of lives lost in the Netherlands during the liberation of the country from German occupation, she performed in front of the Dutch Royal family and high ranking politicians, a duet with April Darby, 'When you believe', and it was a wonderful performance.
ua-cam.com/video/YG8WV1GFt_c/v-deo.html
She also performed other songs during these concerts, a stunning performance of a technically difficult song, a Demi Levato cover of 'Father',
ua-cam.com/video/YG8WV1GFt_c/v-deo.html
Another deeply emotional song from the same concert,
'Hero',
ua-cam.com/video/rohP0V3ECRY/v-deo.html
From a different concert, 'You raise me up',
ua-cam.com/video/NIXB7TbeMvw/v-deo.html
In the autumn, she appeared at a concert, previewing an event she's been booked for in January 2025, at the Ziggodome in Amsterdam, where she will perform 2 concerts with the Disney organisation, and this preview is stunning, both in terms of her power, and the quality of what she delivers, her stage presence is incredibly good, and her delivery of these well know songs is just sublime.
ua-cam.com/video/rhALa-baZGA/v-deo.html
This is a huge event, in a massive venue, and then, as an indication of just how much her star has risen, after 2 guest appearances with Disney, only a week later, Emma will be appearing at the same venue with Andre Rieu, in a completely different event, as part of his 2025 world tour, which she's been booked for, a continuance of her appearances around the world,
Another Disney song, she recorded this at home in her own studio, from the film, 'The little mermaid', Ariel's song, 'Part of your world'
ua-cam.com/video/itxs-aNyRJY/v-deo.html
She's also announced her first ever concert in her own name, it will be in Amsterdam in October 2025, at the national concert theatre, it was announced and sold out in 3 hours last week, and it will be a wonderful event, I was very happy to get tickets for it.
Other songs, with a Christmas theme, she did a wonderful performance for Dutch TV singing an orchestral arrangement of 'Hallelujah',
ua-cam.com/video/9qVHQuPQud0/v-deo.html
Emma was a guest star in the Andre RIeu 2023 Christmas concert series, and sang several songs, a beautiful version of 'White Christmas', started A capella, with no guide note, and then Andre brings the orchestra in, before she's joined by other singers, a large event, you could have heard a pin drop as she started singing,
ua-cam.com/video/ZZEyhG2bEeM/v-deo.html
Later in the same show, 'All I want for Christmas',

One of Emma's first ever appearances, June 2020, with her brother Enzo, a special concert with no audience because of Covid, she was only 12 at the time, and a tiny 12 at that, but even then, her ability and quality was so evident,
ua-cam.com/video/oMyqCs6zZP4/v-deo.html
There is so much more, and a search of UA-cam for Emma Kok will find a lot of her performances, my close is important, the only thing that can stop Emma now is her health, and that's why I am going to repeat my appeal to everyone listening or reading, if at all possible, please make a (regular) donation to Emma's foundation, who are working to find better treatments, or ideally, a cure for the illness that at the moment has no cure, and also can have devastating implications for sufferers, many of whom have taken their own lives as a result of the intense pressure and stress that the discipline of living with gastroparesis imposes on them.
Emma's foundation can be found at gastrostars.nl
Please, if at all possible, join me in making a (regular) contribution to her foundation, to enable them to help patients like Emma, and research this awful disease that has affected her from birth, and required her to be tied to the pumps and feeding tubes since she was 9 MONTHS old, for 22 hours a day, hopefully, the work of her foundation will find a cure.
Lyrics in English
Listen to me, me, the singer-to-be
Tell your lovers, your friends about me
Tell them about this girl with the black eyes and the crazy dream.
What I want is to write stories that will reach you.
That's all
Voilà, voilà, voilà, that's who I am.
This is me, even when I lie open I'm afraid, yes
This is me in the noise and in the silence
Look at me, or at least what's left of me
Look at me before I hate myself
What shall I tell you that another's lips will not tell you?
It's little, but it's all I have; I put it there.
That's it
Voilà, voilà, voilà, this is who I am
This is me me, even if I lie open, it is finished
This is my face, this is my scream, this is who I am
Voilà, voilà, voilà, it's right here
Me, my dream, my desire, how I go to ruin, how I laugh at it
That's me in the noise and in the silence.
Don't go, I beg you, stay for a long time.
It may not save me, no
But to live without you, I don't know how to do it.
Love me like you love a friend who's going away forever
I want people to love me because I can't like my outline
Voilà, voilà, voilà, this is who I am
This is me, even when I lie open, it's over
This is me in the noise and also in the rage
Look at me, and in the end also my eyes and my hands
All I have is here, it's my face, it's my screaming
This is me me, this is me me
Voilà
Voilà
Voilà, voilà
Voilà
Even as a 12 year old Emma has a depth, range and power to her voice that is otherworldly:
1) July 2024 (Age 16), There is 8.5m views on UA-cam as Emma sings her own song 'Dancing On The Stars'
Notes: This was a year after 'Voila' that you have reacted to here, and at the same venue, again with 12500 in the audience - ua-cam.com/video/Ll1uR_HUOP8/v-deo.html
2) 8th May 2024 (age 16), at the Memorial Concert for "Battle of the Residence" in The Hague, Emma sings 'Father' by Demi Lovato - ua-cam.com/video/zXWBj7-edWU/v-deo.html
Notes: This was performed as part of the annual Commemoration, Freedom, Peace concerts, performed with the Royal Military Band KMKJWF
ADVICE - HOLD ON TIGHT! This is emotional!!!!!
3) 25th August 2024 (Age 16) - 'Disney In Concert' Live preview on Dutch TV 'Gala Awards Kick Off' - ua-cam.com/video/rhALa-baZGA/v-deo.html
Notes: Emma is singed to sing at the Disney In Concert Live shows at the 17000 seat Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam in January 2025, this TV show being a preview for that.
4) 5th May 2024 (Age 16), On the Amstel River, Amsterdam, sings duet of ‘When You Believe’ with April Darby - ua-cam.com/video/YG8WV1GFt_c/v-deo.html
Notes: This was a Vrijheid (Freedom) Concert in the presence of the King and Queen of The Netherlands (who are shown in the final shot of the video).
5) 14th May 2024 (age 16), at the Memorial Concert for "Battle of the Grebbeberg" in the Cunera Church in Rhenen, Emma sings 'You Raise Me Up' most notably sung by Josh Groban - ua-cam.com/video/NIXB7TbeMvw/v-deo.html
Notes: This was performed as part of the annual Commemoration, Freedom, Peace concerts, performed with the Royal Military Band KMKJWF. Emma spent the day at the Memorial site of the Battle, extracts of which
6) 26th June 2022 (age 14), ZAPP Music Festival in Houten, Laat Mij Een Vlinder Zijn (Let Me Be A butterfly) A live performance here with English subtitles - ua-cam.com/video/Vq__3YiPemM/v-deo.html
Notes: on 11th March 2022 (the day before Emma's 14th birthday), Emma’s first single is released, ‘Laat Mij Een Vlinder Zijn’ (Let Me Be A Butterfly) co-written with, and produced by, Tjeerd Oosterhuis.
7) 28th June 2020 (age 12), Emma sings 'Opportunity' by Sia from the movie version of Annie - ua-cam.com/video/LBLloP4bQLE/v-deo.html
Notes: at the Kerkrade football stadium - 2nd ‘Heart for Artists’ Benefit Concert to support the cultural sector during the Covid Pandemic.
8) 4th June 2021 (age 12 to 13), The Voice Kids Journey - ua-cam.com/video/20gXikNRjbo/v-deo.html
Wins the 10th Series of RTL4’s The Voice Kids Netherlands. Filming for the season started when Emma was still 12 years old and completed with her winning after her 13th birthday.
9) 16th June 2023, 'Strijder' ('Warrior') - Official video - ua-cam.com/video/rL0GLdnWEKk/v-deo.html
Emma’s second single is released, ‘Strijder’ (Warrior), as for her first single was co-written with, and produced by, Tjeerd Oosterhuis.
I have missed out LOADS of wonderful Emma performances but have left it at that for now. Enjoy 😃♥
I thought about going after the dude for his petty childishness, but thought better of it.
You did it much better. What I had in mind was not so kind.
A male bird is a Cock bird (Kok) - nothing wrong with it. Don't need to be sleazy!
and by the way she is Dutch 🇳🇱
She sings in French 🇫🇷 German 🇩🇪 and English 🏴
Four languages and she does it perfectly
FYI Emma is more petite than other girls her age, her condition also affects her growth rate. A few months ago she debuted her original song DANCING ON THE STARS on the same stage: ua-cam.com/video/Ll1uR_HUOP8/v-deo.html (all English)
...a few more Emma Kok performances:

One yeaar after this performance, after traveling the world in a tour in Mexico, USA, Germany, UK, France and many other countries, she came back to this same town square with another mind blowing and hearth breaking song: "Dancing on the stars"

Performed a year later on the same stage under the magnificent wings of André Rieu:

I like your reaction to "Voilà", 🎤🎶but also your dog🐕

Kok = the cook pronunciation: Kok = cough instead of the f (gh) sound you replace it with the k sound.
Yes. And andre said it twice. Enzo kok later emma kok. He did ot say in dutch emma kak. Then it would sound as cock.
Did you guys watch her Voice Kids performances (linked bellow) ? Give you an idea of how she gained her poise and confidence...↙
Kok in Dutch means cook.
Cocq in French means rooster.
Please review her at age 16 singing “Dancing with the Stars. A great video review.
She's on the feething tube 22hrs a day. 😢
Bud doesn’t expect any different from a America
As Dutch we can speak easy
English
German
France
Even Spanish and Latin if we want to
I hope Kay gave that poor guy his freedom after the recording. I’ve seen inmates enjoy strip searches more than this dude during this reaction, except for when they were saying Kok…sus 🧐😂
Her surname is pronounced Cook
Kok translate to cook in englisch and koch in german.
Her name, in her country is pronounce more like KOKE. So
Go easy on him. We see it and say it as it’s spelled, but remember this, a name IS NOT a word. Many times pronounced different than they are spelled.
🤪 “in her country is pronounce more like KOKE” 😂
Hi from the UK. First time I’ve seen you guys react. Thanks.
Don’t know your name sir, and I’m guessing you’re not easily moved, but I think you might have been by this amazing performance.
No, he was sitting it out waiting for pizza while finding her last name very funny. No other emotions present, I'm afraid..

How old are you?

Dude, you behave like a 15 years old boy.
Had to stop watching at 1:28 before she even started singing because of this man-child laughing at Emma's name. Grow up.
