*Sej Saraiya, cultural-conservation photographer, filmmaker and writer offered valuable and vulnerable insights about presenting indigenous communities and how we might re examine their narratives
*Aasha Sapera, top performer of the Kalbeliya community today shares a bit of her story and perspectives about being a dancer turned singer.
The goal of the HEARTBEAT OF RAJASTHAN FESTIVAL is to celebrate Rajasthani culture in all its diversity! We were particularly interested in the field of dances performed by women, bridging gaps between classical and folk dances and highlighting both the history and great past of these traditional arts.

Our school contribute a lot for children to opt for traditional profession like doctor engineer....they often present creative field as side kick, as recreational activity.... They just feel the kinds mind with all these nonsensical stuff that what he/she shud be doing. Basically Our school system is fucked up.
What the kalbeliyas get out of UNESCO recognition is all the kalbelia dance community from around the world.... Recognition is very important and they achieved it but the economic situation might have changed much that is bcz international community who hv learnt from them and learn free of cost and they are opening their studios in European and other parts of the world giving back almost nothing to the kalbelia..... All the Indian international communitt should work toward that at least basic necessities must be taken care of.
