Roma people can trace their ancestry to North Western India..... It may not look like much but there are many groups like these which are nomadic within India and has passed on the artform to different parts of the world.. the art form shown is itself taken from various artforms in India. the hand and leg gestures along with the eye and head movements all have a significance in various classical dances in India. The stylized anger in Flamenco is due to the anger of being oppressed and having to still perform for the same people. These things survive if the occupation of these people is to showcase their artform although with some differences.
