Loved this vid man keep up the awesome videos! GT3 will always be in my heart, and I'm so thankful that you finally played it! :D Thanks Kuru you're awesome!
I think it is underrated, it basically lives in the shadow of GT4. Not only that, but GT4 is the best game out of the two. Kuru probably says it's underrated because most people back then just straight up dropped GT3 when GT4 came out
One thing i loved about gt3 was that when you tried the reverse variant of the same track, it had different lighting, so it didnt feel like the same track in reverse, like grand valley was sunny normal and dusk in reverse, it was a nice touch :)
I've probably put over 3000 hours into this game over my life. I adore this title; the handling model is just the right mix of arcade and sim, the gameplay loop is like nothing else, and the ai feels fair yet firm.
@@Lucrativecris Ikr, it's a bit confusing at first, but I learned over time! :P I still like it even if it's not like the old glory days on PS1/PS2/PS3... But I think GT7 is gonna be THE Gran Turismo game... Atleast I hope so! X)
@Balakeh Go check yourself about the number of distribution of the only bundled GT3 version, the Racing Pack. It's never distributed in large number at all and is well sought after right now, unlike Wii Sports which is a standard in all Wiis for a very long time. The reason GT3 sold this much is becuase it's basically the first game on that system to actually show what PS2 can do and became a must have for alomost everyone.
@Balakeh bundled? Yeah no, I was around a lot of department stores when the ps2 was in its prime and hardly saw bundled packs, that’s more of a ps3 thing that became popular with that console.
Ah yes, Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec. The GT Game with the craziest performance boosts in the series... from giving your Alto Works Ltd. 220bhp, to giving a Civic Type R over 400bhp, and of course the Escudo... Oh and of course, courtesy of my boi RynoGT4 (Sorry the meme still hasn't died) 11:44 *IT'S FUCKING PINK!!*
Something I hated about old GT games in terms of upgrades was the fact you couldn't have an NA tune up AND turbo upgrades. It was just one or the other. That was thankfully fixed in GT5 and GT6. Some cars were indeed able to be maxed out better in old games, but some cars were much better maxed out in later games.
Bob-tff deinterlacing will get you a pretty sharp image, but an even better image can be had if you use a cheat code to force progressive scan and set deinterlacing to None. Then you don't get the slight vertical jitters inherent to bob deinterlacing. There's a guide for creating the appropriate pnach file somewhere on the PCSX2 forums, just can't remember off the top of my head.

Or on real hardware on any championship, saving at the end of the second to last race and reloading every time you want another car. Much slower because you have to go through menus every time.
6:20 thats a pretty good point. Thats why in my playthrough of GT1 and GT2 i tried to have a car with as low power possible and still be able to win. And if you do it right. its great fun. Worse tyres helps too.
GT3 was my second GT game (first one's GT2) and I had a lot of memories with that. I love GT4 too but for some reason, my memories of that game are very hazy, and I had spent less time on that until a flood hits us and destroyed our PS2. When I got the chance to play GT4 again on a modded PS2, I've already grown with arcade racers and kart racers that it felt very slow and boring for me. It wasn't until buying Sport last year that I became fine with simulation racers again.
GT3 was the only GT game I ever really put any serious time into. I never had a Playstation, so I played it at my friend's house. We each played on the same save and tried to 100% the game. Only made it to 87%.
i think the few things im super looking forward to with GT7 is 1 the fact it looks lke its going to be similar to that of GT4 and the way its going to feel on the haptic feedback

GRAN TURISMO 3 maybe had the second least amount of cars in the whole GRAN TURISMO franchise, but its still one of the best racing games ever! Thanks, KuruHS!
The differences in the Miatas is actually the engine size. Ironically, the 1.6 version cost 100 credits more than the more powerful 1.8 version. Stock power is 118 HP for the 1.6, and 128 HP for the 1.8 Fully upgraded, the 1.8 can reach around 370 HP, while the 1.6 tops out at around 320 HP. You can actually compete very well in certain Intermediate races with the 1.8 version, especially the top speed races on the Test Course. The Miata will top out at around 340 km/h You can get up to around 2000 km/h with the Escudo, if you tune it right
The one thing i learned while playing Gran Turismo 3 and 4 is use the damn brakes. Especially GT4. You have to be so light on the gas in these games that going 5 km/h more u will hit the wall.
GT3 was by far my most favourite out of the series. My goal was always to get a car fast enough to win the 100 lap oval endurance race and get the formula 1 car, then I'd do the rest of the game. Edit : Also the soundtrack
Cars are probably feeling like they go foot to the floor because the PS2 controller had pressure sensitive buttons. If you're using a PS2 controller you can modulate throttle.
It was the First Gran Turismo i played and It's my beloved GT, I remeber playing GT3 after coming back from a ride I went with my mom after falling off the bike and getting hurt all over, that was a funny day they are more histories out of here? I want to hear some
14:58 Well that is not correct. An integer overflow does NOT overflow into memory or other registers. What it means is, the number will wrap arround (if it is signed) and become the largest negative number (signed max + 1) and then slowly go back to the positive side until it wraps arround to 0 again and start increasing normally. You will never be able to increase the number's size because it is fixed in the compiled binary's machine code.
Haha lmao I remember playing this with my dad, my first ever racing game and I used to use cheat devices like Action Replay, Codebreakers, etc to break the game lol.
It was great, loved the cars and tracks, especially the tokio one, endurance with the stock car was PAIN though lol Btw the formula car looked like you were cheating at corners
Tbh, i think that in some cases, Gt3 is better looking that Gt4, especially in lightninig. There's more variation in tracks lightning conditions (sunset, etc).
gt3 is my personal favorite because gt4 would not work at a certain point for me i loved the graphics, music, game physics and progression what kinda annoyed me was (like kuru said) the steering is a bit too much even with the d pad you steer soo much, you get trolled by the events (you buy a yaris for the yaris event and get a yaris, like wtf) and a looot of cars are unbuyable and you have to figure out how to unlock them (not everyone used the internet that much in 2001) and the one license test i think it was a-7 i literally took 8-10 hours even with 1/2 speed cheat on the emulator to get gold lol
