He's giving back because it's the right thing to do. Plus, when we give, we help others in need. Those same blessings are returned to the giver as well. It's how the Heavenly Father God designed things to work, it's wonderful. Everything is returned to the person, whether good or bad, that is done. The same is true with money, when we give.

My friend was a travel nurse out of college. Made alot of money going up and down the east coast. But it wore her down.
She stopped in her early 30s, had a brain aneurysm and some other health issues. Luckily, sjlhe was very frugal and had in many of her contracts that her clients paid for her living expenses.
So, now she's slowed down jer work schedule to part time, but she has alot of savings and investments. Got married recently and I believe is trying for kids.

It's often true that people underestimate the importance of financial advisors until they feel the negative effects of emotional decision-making. Remember with his contracts they are giving him a travel/ food allowance weekly, so it’s ok if he eats out. My biggest concern for him is sustaining stable health insurance. He probably should enroll in one if the Affordable care Act market plans to keep consistent medical insurance, one unpredictable injury or illness between coverage gaps can wipe out his savings! Also at his age he should invest in a IRA account fund, for retirement benefits! He will need supplemental retirement benefits when he reached retirement age, social security will not be enough to cover his expenses. Should also invest some of his money as well. When the college loan is no longer deferred he needs to pay that off too!

Love the video man. Its great that you’re not only helping save lives, but your giving back to those close to you. You seem like a selfless person which is fantastic, and we need more people like us willing to set good examples. I don’t know the story behind your friend who is incarcerated, but I would recommend leaving him behind. It’s clear that you’ve both taken 2 completely different roads, & ultimately their actions landed them where they are now… no fault of anyone else. They have to be willing to help themselves too & that starts with staying out of trouble, but also they had the chance to set a better example for our brothers & well they chose not to.
Of course you don’t have to take my advice. I love everything else you’re doing… Keep doing you, you’re obviously doing big things & I’m glad I got to hear your story 🙂👍🏾

The problem with coming from a poor background is that you want to help everyone you know. But you can’t save everyone. Giving away 1,600 may feel good at the moment but the truth is it isn’t sustainable. He isn’t going to be a travel nurse forever. At someone point he won’t be able to travel as much, and he’s going to go back to a normal salary. he should act like his salary is a experiencing a short term boost and invest as much as he can. His property isn’t cash flowing. He should focus on getting better at real estate and start building long term wealth then he’ll be in a position to help people for a sustained time.
People who come into money should focus on sustainable giving and not unsustainable giving

I think he doesn’t have any savings currently because he put a large portion of money down to buy two properties. That was about 60k there. Your average person doesn’t even have half of that saved so it sounds like he had savings at some point. He probably will get his savings back though rental income. I just hope he doesn’t put himself in a bad situation going overboard with helping family and friends.

Its called building equity with investments. Of course that can turn into a liability but definitely keeping thousands of dollars saved in the bank is not a good idea. The us dollar is depreciating each year so definitely investing into safe assets is better than keeping money in the bank. Obviously he has savings but he ain’t going to say that in a video anybody can see.

@@blakejonathan4505 calm down lol. I promise it’s not that deep. It was an opinion based on the context given in the video and people’s comments on the video regarding no mention of savings. Just about all of these videos they reveal how much they put away into their 401k and savings each month so it left the assumption he had none. So I responded to that. Worries me. Too many stories of our black people becoming needy themselves because they were too generous while the money flowed. Rethink gifts to family, and instead have a “private” fund to be generous for legit needs when they come (because they will come). You just don’t seem to be in a position to give scholarships. That time will come, and it’s not when you’re in debt yourself. Real talk, you seem to living the life of a future you. No shade intended at all. When we grow up poor in our community, we start thinking a good salary means we have a lot of discretionary income to give/spend…when that discretionary income should be earmarked for securing our future so that we can then bless family, give scholarships, etc. I’m like you in wanting to do good from an early age. I’m now at a relatively young age where I can and do give generously. If I had done this at your age, i would not be able to be as generous as I am able to be…not then, not now. Putting on your oxygen mask first, as the cliche goes, is not selfish.
