Thank you ! I was so frustrated that i wanted to... (i've got the pro almost 3 years) Some things i didn't know that they're influencing the cutting . I'm going to start over and use it a lot more . Greetings from Belgium!
Hi thank you for your hard work explaining how Cameo works. I do have an issue and as a beginner, I can't solve it. I try to load my 24 inch mat on my Cameo pro 4, however even tho I follow all the detailed explanations, my right side of the mat keeps moving slower than the left side so the cuttings I get are all off set and basically deformed. I don't really know how to fix this. Would you be able to help with that? Thank you
Look at this post carefully.... silhouette-secrets.com/2021/02/06/5-steps-to-setting-up-and-troubleshooting-the-cameo-pro/ Is the right roller lined up exactly with the gray arrow as the photos in that post show? Is your mat supported completely flat on the front and on the back for the full 22" on both sides?
thank you so much for your super quick reply. I'm actually watching you troubleshoot video from number 1 ( I'm on 3 starting now) I think many things are more clear. I do have a big table so the Cameo has enough space for the whole work action. However I noticed I do my mat loading s little differently, meaning I press the feeder button, align my mat to the arrow correctly and only then I drop the bar. On your video you drop the bar before loading the mat. So I'll try that when I finish watching all your videos. Again thank you, I'm glad I run into your page
@laebighouse7660 Yes, the bar should be locked in place before you ever put the mat up to it. Then you hold the mat up to the rollers, and it will pull it into the machine.
I would need more information to troubleshoot further. It can be for many reasons. If you are using the Cameo Pro, then make sure you are loading the cutting mat properly and it's fully supported completely flat... silhouette-secrets.com/2021/05/09/cameo-pro-print-and-cut-troubleshooting/ Start with all the defaults and do a test print and cut on cardstock or copy paper until you get it registering - starting with the basics eliminates a lot of the things that can cause issues. silhouette-secrets.com/2020/01/28/lets-explore-v4-print-cut-basics/
Regarding the two load lines- even though I use a 12x12 mat, if I load using the right hand load line, my cuts are way off. I have to use the left load line. Why would this be? My setting are for the 12x12 mat. ETA- And reading the manual (online), if using a mat you use the left line- if loading materials only without a mat, use the right side. I wish they included a printed manual with the machine.
They should not be. The line on the right side is for all other cutting mats. Are you using a Silhouette brand 12" x 12" cutting mat? Or a 3rd party mat? 3rd party mats are not the same dimensions as a Silhouette mat and the grid area will not be the same, therefore it will not line up the same as a Silhouette brand mat.
@@SilhouetteSecrets I have done both using the mat. The Cameo Pro User manual on page 25 states when using a mat to use the mark on the left. When cutting materials without a mat, use the right mark.

I watched all 5 videos and not one of them explained why the roll of vinyl shrinks inside the plotter where the knife cuts. When I cut using a mat everything is fine, there are no problems. But cutting from a roll is impossible.
I've never had vinyl "shrink" inside a machine. Make sure the vinyl is completely flat and you do lose 1/4" of cuttable space on the left and right sides and 1 inch on the backside as it has to hold the material in the machine.
@@SilhouetteSecrets The knife is installed correctly, there is space, the width of the rollers is correct. I bought the pro version so that I could cut without a pad, but I can’t cut without it. If I knew that this would happen, I would have bought a standard plotter, but the fact is that I had versions 2,3,4 by 30 cm and I cut everything on the mat and there were no problems, but it was inconvenient for me every time at 30 see cut the material... also the advantage is that you can cut paper, these were the factors for purchasing the pro versions. Now I really regret it, because everyone shows that he can cut, but no one actually shows how he cuts, and it’s just terrible..
Not typically. What we see 95%+ of the time is something in the setup or workspace with this machine. It is very, very specific in how it needs to be setup and if even 1 thing is off, it can be inconsistent. I’m having issues with my vinyl roll not coming out of the machine in the back. It rolls up in two places inside of the machine
Is your vinyl curled and catching?
