I have lost 25 lbs with this way of eating and didn't give up balancing social situations or getting a treat here and there. She's 100% right. I can attest this isnthe best thing I've ever done. So glad to have you back melissa!
I lost 50 lbs doing this but during the Pandemic I started eating some processed foods and gained weight -so I'm getting inspiration today to start again.
Everything you said is 100% on point! Especially about dining out… It seems impossible to get unseasoned vegetables steamed in water. There’s ALWAYS even the slightest bit of oil even if I say I’m allergic to oil and it’s triggering.
I’ve noticed the same thing about restaurants- the only place I find it easy to eat oil-free is sushi restaurants… veggie rolls, edamame and a bowl of rice are my go-to items. :)
I have been on a WFPB journey for 7 years. All of your tips really work. And they are all easy. Might not seem like it at first glance, but they do work. And it can take months to lose, but with me at 3 months, even with a mild virus, I suddenly lost 15 pounds. I have now lost 25 total and feel great.
1. Replace cereals/toast for breakfast with oatmeal porridge and berries or banana 2. Stop drinking your calories in alcohol, sugary coffees and fruit juice (smoothies are still good though) 3. Eat out less (try cutting times in half) because they use a lot of oil 4. Fall in love with fruit as snack and dessert 5. When you make your dinners, make double so you have “meal prep“ for the next day 6. Get rid of 1-2 your biggest temptations and stop buying them 7. Before give into your cravings, just eat 1 more healthy cravings and see how you feel after
Love seeing your beautiful face again Melissa! Thanks for the reminders. It is always welcomed in our hectic lives! My favorite tip is eating at home! Makes such a difference on the pocketbook and the body. 💛
Thank you Melissa! I absolutely love your content and always looking forward towards your new videos and recipes. Thanks for great tips for the New Year! Wishing you and family a blessed, healthy and happy New Year ♥️
I’m so with you on alcohol. There is nothing good about it. I was a heavy drinker for many years and now at age 66 have two spinal compression fractures from osteoporosis. I’ve now stopped but it would have been so much better if I’d never started. Ladies, if you value your bones, don’t drink!
I also buy huge bags of sweet cherries and make a nice cream with it. It does the trick any time I am craving something sweet. I add a little vanilla and a splash of soy milk to add an extra ice-cream-like taste. If you leave the frozen fruit out to thaw just a bit for 15 - 20 minutes (depending on how cold your house it) and toss it in a food processor the consistency comes out juuuuuust right. You can top it with some coconut shreds, oats, buckwheat groats (gives it a nice crunch!) or whatever floats your boat. I also find frozen peaches give a nice sweetness to nice creams. Raspberry is good for a little kick of tartness. I will make a huge bowl every single night if I am going through a sugar craving and it really does the trick!
I cant have oatmeal. Ive tried so many versions of oatless oatmeal too. The ones with rice spike my blood sugar too quickly and i feel dizzy and sick. I dont particularly like eggs, and tofu makes me feel bad, though not too much. Im thinking it might have to be sausage and potatoes as a breakfast for me, perhaps add half an apple in there. Or black bean quesadillas.
@@melissaalexandria01 on my goodness, I never made the connection to oat milk! I switched from coffee to hot chocolate so I'm drinking cups full a day off oat milk. Like a litre a day!! No wonder I'm not losing weight 😢

@Purposely.Rooted :)
This is the most realistic advice for weight loss I've ever heard. So tired of people saying to just eat intuitively.
Thank you! I’m glad you found the list helpful! Yes, I’ve also never quite understood what ‘intuitive’ eating would look like…

Restaurants ALWAYS add lots of salt & oil. Even after asking to omit them. I tell them to make everything as boring as possible😂

Is coconut water a good option? I like to drink it with lunch. TIA
It’s healthy but not optimal for weight loss.
Off topic, but girl why u so pretty!! 😍❤️
Awww… that made my day! Thank you. 💕
ALL OF THIS!!!
Great tips!

How do you make your oatmeal?
I love you
So what you do if you want to gain weight???
Y los subtítulos? ?
What about plant based milks like coconut or oat milk?
I use it sparingly… a splash in a smoothie or in oatmeal but don’t recommend drinking glasses full if weight loss is your goal.

@@Moon52171 I used to have a coconut latte every day and I noticed I could no longer fit in my jeans!
@@melissaalexandria01 thank you, is it because they're full of sugar?
Coconut and oat milk have A LOT of fat and carbs!
