This week we tried to explore an abandoned Walmart in Kentucky! It has been closed for over 8 years and still has power and products inside!
This location was deemed too unsafe to remain open after many employees and customers reported significant cracks all throughout the store and parking lot.

This Walmart holds a ton of memories for me. My grandparents used to take me in when I was little, give me two shopping carts to fill, and they’d go “hide them for Santa to find” and we did the same with my kids’ toys. I believe the city owns it and it’s typically guarded in the evenings. I’m surprised no one followed you up there, honestly. There were tons of different stories about why it closed from snake infestations to an unsafe foundation. I tend to believe the unsafe foundation version, as it is, in fact, built on old abandoned mine works. They do use it for storage now. I *believe* the city took it over.

I used to work there and was dept manager in the Garden Center where you almost made it in. Lots of memories there and was glad to see it again. Was rooting for you guys to make it all the way in there.

I was shopping there and my cart would take off by itself.. the floor was sinking bad towards the end.. very interesting its still standing

I remember in 5th grade I was shopping and had to get the hell outta there and ditch my groceries because we had to evacuate because of a methane gas leak

@@AmericanXplorersy’all should do a video on the #hawkinshighschool the school from the stranger things tv show it’s a real school in Georgia or hell let me tag along with y’all if you do decide to go to it and do a video I’ve went twice on the 9th and last Sunday I was gonna or about to try to sneak inside last Sunday thank god I didn’t because a mall cop type security guard in a yellow vest came up and said I couldn’t be there when everyone else has been there and made videos on TikTok then started recording me with his phone and shoving it in my face third time is a charm and fuck that security guard should have busted his ass😂

at 0:55 I heard when they were building the foundation and uncovered the mine shafts , there was a huge den of rattlesnakes there that they had to remove .
Leave it all behind keep.power on wait til accident insurance claim!! Pay for one they built in hanson ky close to it.
I was a part of a focus group that had to make a pro/con debate for the removal of the building a few years back.

Finally a video I always wondered what happened as In 2016 I was 13 , I’m one county near so I never used this Walmart as we have one in central, but always wondered why it closed , I remember tho they had a McDonald’s inside .

Just a heads up. I used to manage at Walmart (the one you passed) they still own and use the building and go for supplies a lot , that or water line busting in the place and fire dept calling Walmart to get inside and resolved.
But knowing the owners of the specific Walmart. I almost can guarantee they’ll send you a cease and desist / trespassing charge to you all.
That is why lights and cameras are still functioning at all times. They still pay for the lot and building.

i actually got inside. allegedly lol. we got halfway through, and we were trying to get to the back meeting rooms to see if they left anything but one of the tiles had a pressure plate and it set off an alarm 👀 was really wild cause why they got pressure plate alarms set up at an abandoned walmart?? and nah cause why are the lights on??? that’s what we kept saying and yall went at night so that’s even more weird
Did cops show up after the alarms set off
Probably using it for storage and have to have alarms

I find it strange that almost every walmart thats been abandoned still have the lights on inside so who's paying the electricity bill 🤔

Those Wal*Mart cameras are capable of reading receipts! (They're that great) If the lights are on, chances are the cameras are too, and Wal*Mart prosecutes to the Fullest extent of the law.

@@crmouse64 we did not try to “break in”. Simply seeing if there was a way to see inside of the abandoned Walmart. There is a major difference in that.
