- for many years I have been asked to design a bigger retort. So after some R&D we came up with this. This retort will produce on average 650 to 700 Kg's per Burn over 10hrs on a ratio of 4-1. Hans the owner has done very well he now export to France, Germany and not for getting he home land "Sweden".
We have now sold over 6 of the RT1600 retorts most of them in the last 2yrs some with cassettes so you can load and unload to make short of loading down time we even supply cooling bins. most of the users are burning 3 times per week producing
+/- 2000kg's per week.

What is the insulation around the wood chambers?
I know wet fresh wood yields smallest but it it possible with this klin even though you don't use the wood gas for the super boost heating ? Great video anyway
Please could you inform me whether there is cheap environmental friendly technology to burn bunch of coconut shells to get controlled charcoals quality results as materials to be activated carbon. I prefer germany or europe manufacturer. Thank you

@@2158NickHarris what's the charcoal being used for? Grills. I'm slowly getting into Hobby pyrotechnics & a lot of guys cook their own charcoal but nothing like that. The biggest I think is made out of a metal garbage can. Most do much smaller operations.

wonder if you could wrap copper wire around the stove pipe to create hot water.
You could technically, but it would be more efficient to build a insulated chamber at the back of the fire chamber, because the heat produced would be too much for the copper pipe, and would make it a constant repair. Having a lightly insulated chamber would allow you to have enough heat to heat up the water to close to boiling, but without the damage to the copper.
I don't know why you would use copper wire to create hot water. I would use copper pipes and not wire XD

It can make millions if you take care of it. With all the pot growers and gardeners in the USA paying 50 bucks for 5 gallon buckets of biochar it can make you rich. You can practically get woodchips for free from tree services. Pay someone 20 an hour to babysit and run it. So ya millionaire stuff. Probably make 1500 A day profit. Then buy a bigger retort and repeat and heat a cabbin while your at it.

No their flaming off the syngas.
Note the retort that is half full and half of that has been precooked.
This doesn't make the builder look at all good unless this was an experimental model.

It appears that a portion of the wood isn't completely charcoalized. Do other designs of yours improve on that?

most on the wood is carbonised around 95% many of my clients find the many ways to stack the wood in the charge drum, the main part that sometime in the base / front of the door. we found if the bridge the wood at the base of the drum you will get 100% carbonization, also you must take in count the moisture content and size of the wood as well. wet feed stock needs to be dried out in a way of per burn to extract the moisture. I had some case which I collected upto 50ltrs per drum of water/wood vinegar..

How about the pollution？

As for the emissions are very low there is some white smoke when you start the retort but when the retort and flues are hot it is free from pollution (Emissions)
It's pyrolyzing and buring wood, so it emits CO2 as a minimum. It may be renewable, but it's not free of pollution or emissions.

Well, that dead, dry wood turns into water vapor, acetic acid, char, tar, CO2, CO, and a ton of other things. I'll bet that Jesus (who is intimately familiar with transubstantiation) knows his chemistry.
