The only problem is that she has NOT been allowed to loop, its an amazing part of her act (like you mentioned). It didn’t sound as good in the semi-final but thankfully she got through.
This made me look at the song from a completely different angle. I used to strongly dislike it, but now that I understand the message it's sending, it's actually an okay song.
Absolutely GREAT VIDEO, no one could have explained that better then you !!! quite a research you have done. Best video I've ever seen - love from Israel
Great Analysis. I think you unveiled the layers of the song, illuminating it beyond its popular tone and the obvious motivation to have it stand out in a contest.
I will be very surprised if Israel doesn't win this year. I am hopeful about our own Rybak, but frankly, the catchiness of this song plus its very relevant theme makes it kind of a hit.
This is what results from genemanipulating and slicing israelis with chickens. Mind controll comes in many forms, bet this israel representative is empowered by mossad.
im not against "jews" but im against zionists and coporatocracy... maybe you lesser people should review yourselves and how you are being taken advantage of by the corporatocracy currently ruling the whole world. Not the enemy of any nations people.
naapurinerkki opinion* Yes, a music student's opinion, and musically Israel's song is just your standard overproduced dance pop track with processed vocals, except they added cringy chicken noises on top of it.
sorry to ruin it for you, I'm sure you're very talented and have a great musical understanding, but that doesn't mean that you can dismiss the song like this as an "overproduced dance-pop track" that contains "cringy chicken noises". especially not after you heard a brief story about what is the meaning of this... and if you are yet to understand, let me sharpen the point for you- the chicken noises are to demonstrate the fear of those sexual predators (because underneath it all, as was mentioned in the video- they're doing it because they're afraid from a world where women will be equal to them... among other reasons of course), and also, interestingly enough- in hebrew there is a word that means both a male and a chicken, so there is obviously a light hearted hint to that... above all, i sure hope that in music lessons they also teach you to hear and understand the sounds the singer is making and not just hearing a song once and dismissing it as shallow and 'cringy'... sorry if my comment seems harsh, i just think your comment had a sense of someone who didn't research the meaning of the song and just heard it once and decided to "roast" it without understanding it...
Might be just me, but I think the chicken noises sound like "baka" which means "stupid" in Japanese... She's already got a Japan-inspired look (especially in the exclusive rehearsal clip) and she mentions Pikachu, and the song has the lyrics "You stupid boy" so I don't think it's a stretch that the clucking sounds tie even more to the song that you'd first think.. If you apply this little theory of mine where she sings baka (aka, stupid) you'd get: "He's a stupid, stupid, stupid, boy"
You articulated most of my thoughts about this song and added more insight (like what those apparently random sounds in the intro might have meant). Brilliant!
Israelis have found your video and are munching on it. Liked most of your analysis, I think the writers of the song will agree with most of it. cheers!
One thing I didn't know until last week is that the lyric "Baka Boy" is a slang term in Japan for "idiot". Tying in Japanese slang with the Japanese look to her live performance at Eurovision was clever enough, but then making the lyric "Baka Boy" sound like a chicken sound (" baka baka hmm, baka baka hmm boy") adds another layer to what at first sounds like a silly song.
What I hear in Netta's song is sexism, harted against the opposite sex, lot of poorly hidden f*ck words, childish noises and a lot of bad slang. The song from Czechia this year is also full of sexism, humiliation, sex and bad language. People vote with their hearts open, not with their feet wide open. That's why the most hyped guy last year - Francesco became 6th despite the bettings odds and the zillions of views. Monkeys, chickens, f*ck words won't help anyone to win neither Eurovision nor the Junior Eurovision.
I’m impressed...yes, with Netta too. She’s so artistic, especially during her live performances. But also, I'm very impressed with how you took her song and beautify organized between the shelves. Please, keep overthinking.
Learning from last year's mistakes (about Italy going to win), I'm not hyped that Israel might win the Eurovision. Btw thanks for mentioning my favourite 2 songs (France and Italy) and Malta (where I'm from).
I always thought the looping intro was sort of a representation of getting a dick pic sent to you. The "pring" the sound of a phone recieving a message. "Ouch" the realization that it's a dick pic. "Ha" laughter at how dumb the guy is for sending it. "Mhp" the thoughts about why this is still being done, someone should do something about it. "La" oh well, what can I do.
Huh... that's interesting, what you said about the beginning sounds, and makes a lot of sense now that I think about it! At first I thought those were just weird sounds, but now I think you're right - they're emotions!
Ha ha ha!!! I love your (way) overthinking and over analizing this song.... Its a realy good one and hopefuly we will see you all in Tel Aviv next year...
I'm for Israel and my #1 sentence to say regarding Netta lately is "shana habaa habaa beyerushalaim habnooia" which means exactly: next year in Jerusalem ;) finally something to be proud of!
Great analysis! As a Belgian I of course hope my country wins - but if Israel and Netta win, it’ll be very well deserved. She’s a true artist with a winning song.
Thank you so much on you support and review! I think you explained the song really well and im happy you are looking at the song more then just funny voices and a chicken
No messages promoting any organisations, political/religious causes, institutions companies/brands/services/products etc. should be allowed in the Shows or on any Official Premises (i.e., the venue, Press Centre, Eurovision Village..).
I have already said this song is very intelligent and that it takes one to know one. Lots of thoughts have been invested in writing the lyrics, and non of the lyrics words are random
Baka is the japanese word for idiot! It is probably japanese because she said she likes the Harajuku Style and she sang Gangnam Style! Fun fact: In japanese animes the word Baka is often used as a bird sound. Example: A crow flies above you and crow out "BAKA! BAKA! BAKA!". Meaning even a bird sees how stupid your action or sentence is. :D Totally funny!
Great analysis video ! I have a different understanding of the initial part of the song ( those gibberish sounds) and that would be of a person (or animal) that is trying to find its proper voice/identity. so she is trying one and is not happy with it and tries a couple more until she got it.
tbh I like it more than "I can't go on"... and I don't know why but I neither see a resemblance to Micheal Jackson, nor do I listen to Bieber so that's definitely not the reason. Different people - different tastes, I suppose...
I way prefer "I Can't Go On", it's more memorable, but I generally don't like those types of pop songs. They are pretty standard and tends to sound overproduced. Michael Jackson's pop music is actually good and there is much more musical variation between his songs + his vocal style is unmatched!
Now, this is a professional review
The only problem is that she has NOT been allowed to loop, its an amazing part of her act (like you mentioned). It didn’t sound as good in the semi-final but thankfully she got through.

Right back atcha.
'You're stupid just like your smart...phone' wow such good lyrics, much deep and meaningful
Great Analysis. I think you unveiled the layers of the song, illuminating it beyond its popular tone and the obvious motivation to have it stand out in a contest.

After watching this video, I like this song so much more. Great review!!
This is one of the best ones!!! Thank you for your amazing work! Can’t wait to hear more!!
U soooooo right, LOVE your analyzing!
This is what results from genemanipulating and slicing israelis with chickens. Mind controll comes in many forms, bet this israel representative is empowered by mossad.
örölörö plöötplööt you anti semitic jerk who doesnt care about metoo and abuses women
im not against "jews" but im against zionists and coporatocracy... maybe you lesser people should review yourselves and how you are being taken advantage of by the corporatocracy currently ruling the whole world. Not the enemy of any nations people.
Well the lord will descend from heaven on the pile of "jew" bones or among them when they learn out of their wicked ways. Sort of a "jesus" story.
Agree, totally.
Wow! awesome way to analyze the song! loved it :)
I cross my fingers for our beloved Netta!
Thank you !!! Toda!!! Спасибо!!!From Israel!!!
Amazing analysis ♥
I really like your review - very interesting. You are very intelligent! Great job!
Definitely agree with you on this stuff, wow. I didn't even know about this meaning.
It's not about Me too but tells about Netta's childhood what she went through, Netta told.
Still doesn't make the song good.
Kennet It's your option.

SHE WON!
What a clever way to explain the song. Just amazing. Gettings from Dominican Republic
Might be just me, but I think the chicken noises sound like "baka" which means "stupid" in Japanese... the "baka bakum" thing: baka its an idiet in japanis. she saying he is like chiken and idiot at the same time
You articulated most of my thoughts about this song and added more insight (like what those apparently random sounds in the intro might have meant). Brilliant!
Thanks a lot for this post and clever notes
greeting from Nazareth, Israel
im from nazereth illit hah :)
That’s what she meant by Pikachu?! 😂 I was SO confused.
Been waiting 4 this
loved Everything about your explanation and interpretation of Netta's song. Great video 🌹
The winning song!!
Outstanding analysis -- bang on on every count IMHO!
Omg you’re so right!!! Next year in Israel
Excellent Review!
Such a wonderful review. And so intuitive. Thanks.
Loved your analysis of the song. Especially the part about the sounds in the beginning. Ty❤️
Dude! What a great analysis! I don't think I've ever enjoyed a eurovision-based video quite like this before! :) Great work!
Israelis have found your video and are munching on it. Liked most of your analysis, I think the writers of the song will agree with most of it. cheers!
Thank you for that. Next year in Jerusalem
or tel aviv
Only Tel Aviv. Jerusalem symbolizes everything which is in stark contrast to Eurovision as a homophobic city
Betta not be Tel aviv...
Actually it might be in Haifa since there's a big stadium there
Has to be Tel Aviv. Jerusalem is a hateful sad city, Tel Aviv fits well with the spirit or the Eurovision and the people. assuming Israel wins... ;P
Nailed it with "Next year in Jerusalem"
Spot on!!!!! Brilliant review for an amazing song! Winner alert (-:
I loooooooove how you overthink everything. I need more
amazing vid. amazing song

It got over a lot people's heads, sadly.

My God, you truly overthinking this ehhehehehe

Brilliant man ! I didn't saw it this way but you are right indeed, good job
Very interesting analisys, amazing knowledge.

Best, and most professional reaction by far ...
OMG this is perfect!
Serbia in ESC 2016 had a beautiful song about domestic abuse.
It's called " Shelter " by Sanja Vučić.
Yep. Loved that one too!
I remember that! I voted for Serbia that year, great tune!
jbga ova je dosta drugacija od Sanje veoma jedinstvena....ova je sve u jednom ..bas talentovana
Hungary 2014

Where is Poland ? Gromee feat. Lukas Maijer - Light Me Up ?
Wow, an amazing analysis
Huh... that's interesting, what you said about the beginning sounds, and makes a lot of sense now that I think about it! At first I thought those were just weird sounds, but now I think you're right - they're emotions!
Came for Netta, subscribed for the style and analysis.
Very good. Enjoyed it.
I like the way how you explain the song. Thank you. From Israel💙
Overthinking It
I like the deep analysis you are making on the song. React to bulgarian Eurovision song BONES, please! Thank you!
Genius analysis! thank you!
PURE ART!
Ha ha ha!!! I love your (way) overthinking and over analizing this song.... Its a realy good one and hopefuly we will see you all in Tel Aviv next year...
loved your video!
isn't the sounds at the beginning of the video of a talking Doll Toy's ???
LAAAAA Reach Ough!!!! YAAAAAAS Love your take on it!! Perfect!! Happy easter
I'm for Israel and my #1 sentence to say regarding Netta lately is "shana habaa habaa beyerushalaim habnooia" which means exactly: next year in Jerusalem ;) finally something to be proud of!
From Israel *
Thank you very much from Israel ❤️
you were right!
Great analysis! As a Belgian I of course hope my country wins - but if Israel and Netta win, it’ll be very well deserved. She’s a true artist with a winning song.
Will they let her do the looping on stage? I understand that in Eurovision, ALL the vocals MUST be done live, and not recorded in any way.
rtpoe she will record all her vocals on live and use them with her looper
Never stop overthinking Matt!
I LOVE IT!! 😀😀
Would she be allowed to use the looper? ESC has a strict rule against recorded voices.
yes/ because she recording herself live/ so the ebu aloowed it
Your review of the song is unique as well...
For eurovision 2019*
Pleaase review Greece's 2018 song "Oniro Mou" !! It's so interesting!!
At least you used the phrase "dayeno" currectly, though it is not commonly used beyond reading text from the year 0040
Thank you so much on you support and review!
I think you explained the song really well and im happy you are looking at the song more then just funny voices and a chicken

I am an overthinker and I just subscribed to your channel because it is an awesome review of a song that I really liked.
Excellent my friend
omg! fantastic analysis Bro!
I LOVE HOW YOU MENTIONED FRANCE, ITALY, AND MALTA
Amazing review! Thank you!
I have already said this song is very intelligent and that it takes one to know one. Lots of thoughts have been invested in writing the lyrics, and non of the lyrics words are random

Wowww love this video and love Netta!
Maybe the most interesting analysis I've seen so far. Not necessarily agreeing to all your points but thanks.
The Dayenu thing was the perfect cherry on top for this video. Kol hakavod!
Your videos are gold.
I miss this channel so much.
finally someone who gets it right. love from ISRAEL!
You were right ❤❤
Great analysis video ! I have a different understanding of the initial part of the song ( those gibberish sounds) and that would be of a person (or animal) that is trying to find its proper voice/identity. so she is trying one and is not happy with it and tries a couple more until she got it.
🇮🇱🐔👑❤️🤩🥇🙌🏻😍🇮🇱🐔👑
Excellent analysis as always.
Do Sweden! As a swede I give you guys full permission to CRUSH our Micheal Jackson/Justin Bieber-esk monstrosity with all means at your disposal :D
Andreas Rosén you forgot Justin...
LOL
You could have left out Michael Jackson's name. He doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Justin Bieber.
tbh I like it more than "I can't go on"... and I don't know why but I neither see a resemblance to Micheal Jackson, nor do I listen to Bieber so that's definitely not the reason. Different people - different tastes, I suppose...

As they say: "Next year in Jerusalem!" :)
Netta is the winner this year, even I want Saara Aalto to win. :) :(
Really, you want Saara to win? Did you see her on X-Factor UK? I do not like her at all...
I love her. She's so talented.
Jan Vloggaa she can sing, but I just cant stand her personality
I think she's a perfect package. :)
Jan Vloggaa good for you!
Wow thank you from Israel💖💖
you the first israeli i saw not beg for likes congrats
(just btw im israeli to)
zakimoshi 👏😍👏 זה בגלל שאנחנו הכל מהכל חחח
Extremely intelligent review !
