Hey Steve the bus is starting to look great can’t wait to see it totally done, thanks again for sharing your restoration with us all I really enjoy watching your clips.
Beautiful! Thank-you! I think that one priority is to stop the upstairs water ingress: if not, black mould in the seats will be, I expect, endless. I hope that you have a good trip 'down home'.
Fantastic video Steve! The offside ding near the roof dome is usually from automatic bus washes where drivers don't crawl into the wash, instead drive into it and the top of the bus brushes smack the bodywork, similar to hitting low trees on the nearside. You'll also find that the front logo is off centre because the logo is in slanted/italic letters, so visually they've offset it so it appears in the centre. I'd love to have a chat to you if you get chance!
thanks and yep that sounds about right re the dent. And yes you are right- the bottom of the first letter is the same distance from the edge as the top of the last letter!
She’s looking good Steve! I actually passed an Atlantean northbound on the Hume yesterday! Flat black it was. I actually passed it twice as I had to make a stop and it went past while I was stopped.
If any leaks around the pump .. the new diesel drys the seals out , so dont be surprised if you need to get the pump done up . Additives around to add to the fuel . I have used a tiny bit of auto trans fluid in the diesel once to sort out a hilux pump for a while .
Bus is looking sharp now. Amazing what all these small tasks add up to in making the vehicle feel in such better shape than before. BTW could you give the paint code for that green? I have A Leyland rear hubcap I'm tidying up and want to use that green!
Hi Steve from the UK, really enjoying the progress. Have you tried using a gloss roller (sponge) rather than an ordinary fluffy one? I roller painted my old Austin and found them to be better and keep their shape, keep up the good work, Graham
@@Crashgate4 hi Graham thanks for watching! Yes I tried foam rollers on the Merlin and found that they left small bubbles in the finish. The rollers I use now are designed to give a high gloss finish, however they do degrade quickly. I go through a lot of them!
you'd be surprised where the water could be coming from - and where it will wick to ...... we chased one for ages - ended up coming from the second nearside window back on the top deck and ended up dripping out of the desto box above the drivers windscreen
@@stevestufff I saw earlier in the video like the back side panels you pulled out repolished and that, I believe they rusted again I believe that's what I saw.

Coming along nicely Steve.
Good job mate, Enjoying the content. And your English Summer.!
@@davebolger3204 haha bloody rain!
Fascinating viewing, love your videos. I'm a fellow Atlantean owner from England. I own ex Tyneside PTE Atlantean, registration GBB 516K.
thanks! We are in a small club, and thanks for watching! It really is a rewarding hobby
Steve it is a seal in the fuel pump, needs to be refurbished ten good as new.
yeah I reckon you are right!

thanks Michael. That bus if I think it's the same one, is a marketing vehicle for a clothing line I think.

good to know! Thanks for the tip
If the weather wasn't so crap, I'd start doing the Daimler. Can't rely on Perth winter though.
hopefully it gets better for you

cheers for that! Unfortunately I don't have a code, I had it computer matched from a wheel at the paint shop.

Is it not just condensation in the top deck? Especially with the cool rainy weather.
@@AnthonyValentine-vm1yc nah mate there has been a serious leak in that front window. Check out a couple of the earlier vids you will see it.

I swear the leaks drive me crazy! In both buses!

@@diwalsh7864 ah OK that would be good!
Those side panels have rusted up again. Have you got any updates on the Merlin or what you plan to do?
Hi Lukas, which sides do you mean have rusted? The plan for the Merlin is eventually move it into storage in Taree.

@@stevestufff adding in it appears to be some wire sticking out about that driver mirror unsure what that is and unsure if you spotted that.
@@Lukas_Irwin ah OK, I see what you mean. I havent put those back in yet, they are safely inside the bus until I have finished painting :)
@@stevestufffAh no worries. Are you still going to broadcast on WSFM if you're going away or is someone covering you?
You shude clean up the engine as a jobe
good idea, a pressure wash. I will get to it eventually
@@stevestufff might be a good way to trace the weeping diesel.
