We can never go back, but we can do better than we are-I was just a kid in the 1980s-It’s odd knowing that sometime after 2005 music took a nosedive into a scalding lava pit. We can do better. We’ve the same bodies, minds, and abilities as generations past.
Amazing upload !!! Came out in 1986 and both these gay icons mean the world to me. Pay attention Gen Z this is how talented singers sound without autotune and layering 🎱
This version of IFL just soars. Jimmy really blows the roof off the building and it seems like Marc reels him back. What an incredible cover and two incredible singers.
What a terrific performance!... I live in Switzerland and I was a 14 years old fan of both Bronski Beat and Soft Cell at the time. I can only regret having missed this live show. Three years ago I visited the hall where this was filmed (a gambling house in the Montreux Casino building)...it was emotional being there and recalling this performance.
@@liamdan1620 I remember watching this during the Christmas break on BBC1 in 1985 they also did love and money from the age of consent album.. A master at work.. saw him in Leeds performing at millenium Square, caught him warming up prior to concert.. Still aced it
I love the way Marc looks at the camera.and how Jimmy dances absolutely brilliant I do my housework while dancing around it really put me out of a bad mood luv luv u both ❤xxx 4:32
I was never much into ‘80’s music…into Aussie Rock & the classics of ‘70’s’,60’s & 50’s…if someone set up a Club with ‘80’s performers,it would kick arse…can’t believe I’m saying it,but I think it’s time to bring back the ‘80’s…
First time I see this, and I'm from the eighties. Now this is a party!!! Just awesome. Anyone who doesn't move to this performance in someway or another must be dead inside.
37years on, this is still in my playlist... This is my inspiration 😉.... Remember back when I'm still in pre school, rushing back from school just to get my TAPE n TAPE recorder ready to recorded this down and play over and over and over again and again.... Bring a smile on my face n tear in my eyes watching this all over again.... Still a inspiration after all these years.... 🥺🥺
So I'm not the only one who noticed him on stage here! His official bio mentions him having joined Bronski Beat as a sax player, but Discogs doesn't have any credits to his name for any studio recordings by that band. Perhaps he was brought on purely for live shows.
Thank you so much for uploading this clip! What soaring, soulful, stunning voices! So different, but they go so well together. Amazing artists. I love the saucy little grin Marc Almond gives the camera at 0:33. And both of them swinging the mic wires in the most carefree manner and rocking their hips sultrily! Oh my oh my! Just adore it. And them, of course! Jimmy and Marc - a match made in heaven!🎶
Marc was peaking vocally around this time. I remember seeing him live in 85 or something, just after releasing Stories of Johnny, and he was great. His tone was so nice and sang so effortlessly.
To be fair.... I digitised the VHS tape and upscaled the video 'nicely' (even if I say so myself) and then uploaded to UA-cam who annoyingly put adverts on it that they make money on..... I'm free.... As they say!
I remember seeing this so vividly on BBC2 think it was on a bank holiday. So fortunate that my band @alllivingfear got to make a record with the great Mr Bronski. This is a classic clip not least because its Bronski and Communards together for I think the only time with the Rev on Clarinet.
2024, I’m driving, my teenkids are choosing the music on their phones, 99% is late 70’s to Early 90’s 😁😁
Lord please bring the 80's back!

Everyone should love this song!

I am as straight as a plumb line but I love love this.

Going back to 1977 when Donna Summers did it. Not goofy like these guys...
Фу
I am 20 gen z and i know what is like to sing without autotune gen z isnt always people under 10 years old just saying 😂😂
Plenty of reverb tho

I love how Jimmy enjoyed himself and danced all the way, great performance!
He was at his own rave.... having fun ❤
Oh man.... This was an act of passion... Astonishing!!!!.. And that goofy dance of Jimmy is a signature move hehe
Jimmy,s dance is epic and marc,s voice is so lovely, and such nice guys!

This is flawless. Love them both so much.
Epic with savage vocals.
Amazing rendition of an amazing song...goose bumps up and down my spine.
Such an amazing live performance! Definitely NO auto tune here! This was back when there was still raw talent in music!
Try going back even further for the original by Donna Summers 😉

Jimmy Somerville is incredible performer I am amazed ❤❤❤
This is far beyond…and far after…… Great..!!!

When I first put it on I didn't think their voices would work together but actually they work great, like chocolate and ice cream.
HOW FUCKING BAD ASS IS THIS! DAAAMMMNN!
They're both amazing!

The good old days!!!!

Due mostri della musica❤❤
Fantastic. Love them both.
Amazing!!!! Marc Almond... WOW!!!!
The energy in this live ❤
Never knew Richard Coles was playing Saxophone with Bronski Beat before forming The Communards with Jimmy! Something new every day :)

Miss the 80s so much. These 2 are legends
80s forever
Agreed. I was 15 in 1980. The best decade musically.
2 legends
I just love this and I love Marc Almond, saw him not too long ago and he's still amazing
wish he would come to Italy for some dates
Fun to see that Richard Coles was around the band (1:59) , before he and Sommerville formed the Communards
Bring these days back please !!!!!
♥
Jimmy and Marc.. Gen X loves you . Thanks for so many memories
My God. This is utterly fantastic. God bless them all. Thank you so much for this.
And let's also thank Donna Summers from 1977!
One of the best duo performances
Jimmy Tintin is unique with his vocals and even his dancing is enjoyable. Whether he is with Bronski beat, Communnards or solo. God bless🙏
I love his way of dancing
He was a HUGE star in France back in the day. Indeed he looks like Tintin 😅
Marc Almond and Richard Cole as guests of Bronski Beat ---- wonderful

DUO MAGNIFICO
The short guy has the perfect voice for this track!
Haha.... The short guy.

I just realized how funny this is because they both look short 😂
I didn't know his name either, I just know one song from Bronski Beat, he does have a great voice .
His name is Jimmy Somerville. Bronski Beat and The Communards are the bands he was most prevalent in.
this is GOLD!
Marc❤
Jimmy's voice is enchanting to me❤️❤️
What a duet❤️❤️
un des meilleurs live que j ai vu
Magnífico espectáculo en vivo. Buenísimos Artistas
Thinking what great singer and artist Marc Almond would become since then and the wonderful career he was facing makes me cry…
Spot on voices, and still today! Marc sings like a young boy🎉❤ never misses a note.
Fantastic performance, great versión!

J adore les deux chanteurs et Marc est magistral avec son refrain et sa voix
