Absolutely stunning. You were my most listened to artist of 2021 and a large majority of it was HTTYD score music not gonna lie. I'm obsessed. Thanks for all you do 💞
I'm guessing that's supposed to be Toothless' thought when he's out of ideas for impressing the light fury! A "What now?" moment directed at Hiccup, who was guiding him from a distance. This is when he starts trying his own ideas.
It ended gracefully, not like those other money milking franchises that go on until they turn in absolute garbage. It is sad bad good, we will remember the trilogy with nostalgia
Hi John Powell If you are reading this I just want to say do what makes you feel good, and what you want to do, you have inspired the whole world with your music and yourself, whatever you choose to do, we will support you. Best regards, Emile
I watched the video on Mix with the Masters about this track, very interesting to see how key change and the "constent restart" of the track support the idea of trying to make something work and failing a few time before succeeding , it work so well here ! I love the harp on this one ! 4:50 that brass staccato, always a pleasure to here that :)
I love your music. I saw the books at the library and thought the illustrations looked bad so I never saw the movie. Then we played the score compilation in band, I liked it so I listened to the score. I thought, any movie with music this good can’t be bad, so I went and rented the movie and fell in love. All thanks to your score.
Yaaaaay!!! Thank you for this. The whole cue as well! :)). Absolutely loved how you used the 'arrange' feature on this cue. It's been a lifesaver for me as well.
As always, those piano rolls are sooooooooooo entertaining, inspiring and you can take plenty of tips for training for composers in the making ! Thank you for sharing your amazing work John Powell !
this is amazing D: and I can't believe it's taken me this long to discover your yt channel. thank you for being the inspiration that got me into writing and composing my own music. Love your work in How to Train your dragon and Hancock.
This music is stunning to such a degree that I am in awe watching it play out. This is truly a great track, and I really thank you for uploading this. It kind of gives me an idea of how you structure the music before getting it performed. Also, I learned it's kind of fun to try and find a specific part, say a trumpet part, as it's crowded with everything else around that range of pitch. I'm sure there's a way to work with one part individually and blur everything else, but for someone who uses _Ableton_ of all DAWs, the whole thing is really intriguing.
Wow. I mean, I know you can't beat the performance of real musicians... But at some point I can't imagine anyone spitting out their pepsi to yell "fraud!" at the screen when this plays.. I've been your fan since Face/Off. Love all your work Mr. Powell!
I love this! As someone who just starts out in film music, this is just so nice, and interesting to watch! It doesn't reveal too much of the magic but a little, and thats very beautiful!
As a logic nerd it would be really cool to see the actual arrangement as opposed to just the piano roll and the automation. Must be hundreds of tracks on this.
Wow! it's great! I really love this melody) Don't count how many times in a year I listened to music from How to Train Your Dragon) You are incredible!)
You're simply amazing for doing this, obviously a man who not only excels at his craft, but loves it passionately. That being said, CAN YOU DO FLIGHT TEST THO.
If you notice, it's the same climax melody of the new Tail but calmer and with a different composition, I love the references to the classic HTTYD soundtrack
This is my favorite Httyd song ever! Your the best John Powell! I’m literally obsessed with this movie my room is nothing but Httyd things like it’s amazing😂❤️
It’s just wonderful, I really love that cue so much and seeing the sessions is beautiful and inspiring, damn I really need to explore more the piano roll in Logic Pro and see how those small divisions are made without a time signature change.
Amazing to see your bookmarks for what's happening during the scene! Was always curious how the animation and music work together to match beats perfectly.
Waiting for more from How to train your dragon :) beacuse its the best soundtrack i've ever heard (and i'm not just saying i can name every track from Httyd from first 10 sec except "hidden world suite" and "exodus" i am not sure till i hear drums :D)
Wow I use the same DAW for my videos as the one and only John Powell. You're one of my favourite composers and a great inspiration. My favourites of yours would be Kung Fu Panda (w/Zimmer) and HTTYD
How to train your dragon would not be the same without this majestic music, I'm not denying the animation or the acting nor the writing that's all brilliant too but score ties everything so well together.john Powell how did you learn your craft so well?
Amazing!!! Esta maqueta orquestal suena realmente bien. Voy a chafardear por tu canal. No se si la tienes ahora mirare. Pero no te animarías a hacer alguna masterclass de cómo lo haces?XD saludos.

SAME!! I WAS THE TOP 0.1 PERCENT OF HIS LISTENERS ON SPOTIFY LOL
I LOVE that you put the scene markers in the score, makes it so much more fun to listen along.
Pleeease more of these :DDD
Gotta love those markers, especially "WTF am I supposed to do now dude?" and of course "Marker 40" xD
its sad that the movie series ended
(i know the same thing is in the chat)
@@G--Prim- it’s good tho, it ended perfectly. A sequel would ruin it

@@FilmScoreandMore I know that. Still a funny name ^^
Sad that the trilogy is over and we won't hear any more new HTTYD music. This music is truly magnificent, emotional and magical all in one.
HTTYD Forever!!!!!!!!!

Actually, he's scoring the live-action remake, so there's probably more new HTTYD music to come. ;)
Just magic.
I would cry if I'd hear this alive in concert hall.

The best movie music! These materials stimulate and help a lot when studying orchestra and composition. I'm listening to it thankfully.

Hi! Do you use the piano roll or the score view in Logic? Is the score view any good?
I use both and both are good views as you can get 2 different perspectives@@erik9817

Any chance for Test Flight next? Absolutely loved how you blended themes there
I recently found your amazing music. Is Logic what you prefer to score in?
I will watch the film all because of the music!!! Is the original score recorded with live orchestra or is it all MIDI?
i dont know :/
The score was recorded with an orchestra in London at Abbey Road Studios.
I like how this is a piano roll, but you can't play it on a piano unless you're using your feet.
is this all sampled sounds? very nice indeed. love it
No, this is the final mix.
The markers are great. Did you compose with those or add them just for this video?
Markers come first, sometimes along as you write.
Can you please also make piano solos for Ice Age?
Good idea. I'll see if Batu is willing.
