Wow, I can't believe that experiment actually was a success, that was a great video! Agree that it should not be used, but the fact that it lifted it and ran it, is amazing! I guess the saying, "just because you can, should you" applies here. Thanks for the demonstration!
That's a pretty cool tractor, but I think you're off a little. One, doing some quick research, it seems a 6' bush hog would be more likely 600-750 lbs, again still impressed, because much of that weight is way aft of the pins. I had a County Line 4' and it was only listed at 350#. Also, I doubt you could cut more than short grass with it, let alone actually bush hog. As soon as you'd hit anything thicker than a 1/2 branch, it would start to stall. I mean listen to the wind up, it takes several seconds to get to full rpm, assuming it did. Probably could run a 4' or at least a 42" bush hog. I mean 10-11hp isn't much when you start hitting resistance right. I think it needs a grapple.😉
Hey, it was just a guess on weight for a fun experiment! I had nothing else to test the PTO with since I can’t seem to get a free stump grinder from Florida Deere. and I’m still guessing it’s probably 800 lbs because I can’t lift the entire thing with my forks and I have lifted things that I know are 750 lbs But then that could be because of the size of it as well. I guess I could look it up. I think it’s made by “Cal-Hawk” or something.
@@LukesJohnDeereGarage Still probably less than 800#, but remember you are lifting something that is 6' long, therefore increasing weight based on leverage. Most of what you lift is much closer to the lifting arms. I mean the 1023E could probably lift it though🤣
That little tractor holds up well! Love those little diesels
Thanks. It’s gonna be for sale soon!

Thanks for watching and commenting! Appreciate the support.
5hp per foot of cut is a good rule of thumb.
I think a smaller 4 ft bush hog would work better for a sub-compact tractor like that 655
No question! I’m redoing a 60” King Kutter finish mower that should work well with it as well.

I’d be glad to let you try as long as you bring the stump grinder.
